2021 was filled with amazing listener stories, in fact, every experience that I had the honor of reading was fascinating. Throughout the year, there were many of these stories that stayed with me for one reason or another. Possibly because I connected with them in some way, or perhaps they simply covered a phenomenon that I found especially interesting.
Whatever the reason, it’s become a bit of a tradition for me to revisit these stories at the end of the year, and possibly even present you with an experience that you haven’t had the chance to listen to. Now please keep in mind that this is by no means a list of my favorite stories, and to be honest, if I could have included every single story that I read in 2021 I would have, but I had to draw the line somewhere, and believe me it was difficult deciding which ones to include.
So today I’ll be presenting you with a two part recap of 2021. Part 1 is airing now, and Part 2 will be available later today at 12pm Eastern time. So whether you’re at home, on the road, or at work, I hope you enjoy Part 1 of our 2021 year in review.

[00:01:17] [SPEAKER_00]: 2021 was filled with amazing listener stories.
[00:01:20] [SPEAKER_00]: In fact, every experience that I had the honor of reading was fascinating.
[00:01:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Throughout the year, there were many of these stories that stayed with me for one
[00:01:28] [SPEAKER_00]: reason or another. Possibly because I connected with them in some way,
[00:01:32] [SPEAKER_00]: or perhaps they simply covered a phenomenon that I found especially interesting.
[00:01:37] [SPEAKER_00]: But whatever the reason, it's become a bit of a tradition for me to revisit these stories at
[00:01:42] [SPEAKER_00]: the end of the year, and possibly even present you with an experience that you
[00:01:46] [SPEAKER_00]: haven't had the chance to listen to. Now please keep in mind that this is by no means
[00:01:51] [SPEAKER_00]: a list of my favorite stories. And to be honest, if I could have included every single
[00:01:56] [SPEAKER_00]: story that I read in 2021, I would have. But I had to draw the line somewhere,
[00:02:02] [SPEAKER_00]: and believe me it was difficult deciding which ones to include.
[00:02:07] [SPEAKER_00]: So today I'll be presenting you with a two-part recap of 2021.
[00:02:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Part 1 is airing now, and part 2 will be available later today at 12pm Eastern time.
[00:02:18] [SPEAKER_00]: So whether you're at home, on the road, or at work,
[00:02:22] [SPEAKER_00]: I hope you enjoy part 1 of our 2021 year in review.
[00:02:27] [SPEAKER_00]: Let's begin. Our next list of stories comes to us from Melanie. Melanie's story is called
[00:02:35] [SPEAKER_00]: A Ghostly Story. Melanie says, Hi Nick, love the podcast. I appreciate you giving a platform
[00:02:42] [SPEAKER_00]: to us that have experienced unexplainable events. You do a great job. Ever since I can remember
[00:02:48] [SPEAKER_00]: I've always had ghostly encounters, from friendly to not so friendly spirits.
[00:02:53] [SPEAKER_00]: I seemed to have somehow attracted spirits to me throughout my life, without actually trying to.
[00:02:58] [SPEAKER_00]: I have never played with a Ouija board out of fear that it would attract even more,
[00:03:02] [SPEAKER_00]: but I digress. I thought I would write to you about one of my more validated experiences.
[00:03:08] [SPEAKER_00]: One day my family and I were all in the kitchen talking when a strong smell of BO came out of
[00:03:13] [SPEAKER_00]: nowhere. This smell was very pungent and was not ignored by any of us. We began to inspect
[00:03:19] [SPEAKER_00]: where it was coming from, all smelling each other's pits and could not figure it out.
[00:03:24] [SPEAKER_00]: The smell eventually subsided and was brushed off by us. A couple of days later I was sitting
[00:03:29] [SPEAKER_00]: on the couch watching TV when in my peripheral I saw a figure of a woman with short brown hair
[00:03:35] [SPEAKER_00]: wearing a blue jersey with a 00 on it. She had shorts, high socks, and yellow sweatbands
[00:03:41] [SPEAKER_00]: on her wrists and head. She was just watching me from the hallway. I then started to smell
[00:03:47] [SPEAKER_00]: that pungent BO and the puzzle pieces began to be put together. She disappeared as soon as I
[00:03:53] [SPEAKER_00]: looked at her of course. I saw this lady a couple more times in the same spot, watching me while
[00:03:58] [SPEAKER_00]: I watched TV. This was unusual to me because I could see details whereas most of my encounters
[00:04:04] [SPEAKER_00]: are only white or black shadows. One day I decided to tell my mom about this. My mom is a very
[00:04:10] [SPEAKER_00]: open minded person and has always been a believer in the spirit world. Before I was able
[00:04:14] [SPEAKER_00]: to finish explaining what I had been seeing, my mom stopped me and expressed that she also had seen
[00:04:20] [SPEAKER_00]: her and she then finished my description to the tea. This was so validating to me because
[00:04:25] [SPEAKER_00]: I typically brush these experiences off thinking my mind is playing tricks on me.
[00:04:29] [SPEAKER_00]: My mom began trying to think of why this spirit would be visiting us and one memory
[00:04:33] [SPEAKER_00]: came to mind for her. She decided to pull out her old yearbook from high school and started
[00:04:39] [SPEAKER_00]: going through the pages. She stopped on a page and showed me a girl that looked
[00:04:42] [SPEAKER_00]: a whole lot like the spirit I had been seeing. My mom began to explain to me that this particular
[00:04:48] [SPEAKER_00]: girl was a friend of hers from high school and she was huge into sports and was awarded
[00:04:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Athlete of the Year. While in a soccer game, my mom accidentally kicked her in the head which
[00:04:58] [SPEAKER_00]: made the girl furious. This gave her a concussion and she was unable to play for the next week
[00:05:03] [SPEAKER_00]: or so. My mom had expressed her apologies but to no avail and this girl ignored my mom
[00:05:08] [SPEAKER_00]: for the rest of high school. Not long after high school this girl apparently received a full
[00:05:13] [SPEAKER_00]: scholarship but not long after she died suddenly of heart complications. My mom has always felt guilty
[00:05:20] [SPEAKER_00]: about what she had accidentally done to her back in high school and it was our thought that she
[00:05:24] [SPEAKER_00]: was visiting my mom because of this. It was quite the epiphany to us but why would she visit now?
[00:05:30] [SPEAKER_00]: We could not understand it. We never saw this lady again and my mom now feels at peace
[00:05:36] [SPEAKER_00]: about the unfortunate occurrences from high school. It makes you think of how interesting
[00:05:40] [SPEAKER_00]: the afterlife is. Can we come back to mend old regrets or unfinished business? One can only wonder.
[00:05:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for reading my story. I have many other experiences so let me know if you'd
[00:05:53] [SPEAKER_00]: like to hear more. I'd be happy to write more stories. All the best. Melannie.
[00:06:01] [SPEAKER_00]: Our next listener story comes to us from TJ. TJ's story is called Time Slip.
[00:06:07] [SPEAKER_00]: TJ says, Hi Nick. Maybe I am just not as sensitive as some people but I don't have many experiences
[00:06:14] [SPEAKER_00]: that I can't explain but I do have this one. I wanted to share it with you as I heard some
[00:06:19] [SPEAKER_00]: other listeners' stories that reminded me of it. When I was about 10 years old my family moved
[00:06:25] [SPEAKER_00]: to the rural area of Wisconsin where my mom is originally from. We lived out in the country
[00:06:30] [SPEAKER_00]: with about a 20 minute drive to the nearest small city. This was probably one of my first
[00:06:35] [SPEAKER_00]: times that I had taken the trip and I was mostly unfamiliar with the landmarks on it,
[00:06:40] [SPEAKER_00]: so I was avidly looking out the window and observing this new place. Not too far from our house we
[00:06:45] [SPEAKER_00]: came upon a solitary barn. Anyone who is from rural Wisconsin knows that the countryside is dotted
[00:06:51] [SPEAKER_00]: with many old barns in various states of disrepair or use so it was not unusual to see.
[00:06:58] [SPEAKER_00]: I took more interest in this particular one though because there were many people who
[00:07:02] [SPEAKER_00]: seemed to be working on it. It was a crowd of men in white shirts and suspenders,
[00:07:06] [SPEAKER_00]: and it seemed as though they were raising the barn or building it. I remember young men straddling
[00:07:11] [SPEAKER_00]: big beams that would be in the hayloft hammering in nails and teams of horses hoisting those
[00:07:17] [SPEAKER_00]: beams up. There was no heavy machinery just teams of horses and men doing the heavy lifting.
[00:07:23] [SPEAKER_00]: It looked as though they were doing it in the old fashioned way.
[00:07:27] [SPEAKER_00]: I did not think this was odd either as this particular area is home to many Amish families
[00:07:32] [SPEAKER_00]: who dress similar to what I saw and shun most modern machinery. It made sense to me that
[00:07:38] [SPEAKER_00]: the Amish would be building their barn like this. My mother who was driving didn't mention it,
[00:07:43] [SPEAKER_00]: so I just watched them until we passed it. I thought nothing more about it until a few days
[00:07:48] [SPEAKER_00]: later when we were going back into town. I remembered the men working on the barn
[00:07:52] [SPEAKER_00]: and wondered how much progress they had made since I had seen them. However when we got to the
[00:07:58] [SPEAKER_00]: spot that I knew the barn was, I was shocked. The barn was now completely collapsed on itself
[00:08:03] [SPEAKER_00]: with rotting wood and vines growing up around the stone part. There were young trees and
[00:08:09] [SPEAKER_00]: bushes growing next to it and inside though I clearly remember the dusty area around where
[00:08:14] [SPEAKER_00]: the men had cleared the work area. It had obviously been abandoned for decades.
[00:08:19] [SPEAKER_00]: I turned to my mom and asked her how long the barn had been like that.
[00:08:23] [SPEAKER_00]: She seemed very confused and didn't know which barn I was talking about until I pointed it out.
[00:08:28] [SPEAKER_00]: She was then even more confused and said that it had always been that way.
[00:08:32] [SPEAKER_00]: It was not far from the road and I am certain that my mom would have seen what I saw and
[00:08:37] [SPEAKER_00]: remembered it. From living in that area in the years afterward, I have never seen a site
[00:08:42] [SPEAKER_00]: like that again, so I know that it would have been unusual enough for my mom to take note
[00:08:47] [SPEAKER_00]: of it. I am also confident that it was the same barn due to an easily recognizable landmark right
[00:08:52] [SPEAKER_00]: next to it. The barn is completely gone now as someone bulldozed its remains for a new driveway,
[00:08:59] [SPEAKER_00]: but I always think about this experience when passing by where it used to be.
[00:09:03] [SPEAKER_00]: I do not think these are ghosts in the traditional sense. To me it seemed more like
[00:09:07] [SPEAKER_00]: an echo of the past or just a moment where time got thin and I glimpsed what it was.
[00:09:14] [SPEAKER_00]: Some kind of latent energy taking form for just a second.
[00:09:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for listening to my story. Our next listener story comes to us from Vincent.
[00:09:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Vincent's story is called Saved by an Invisible Entity.
[00:09:31] [SPEAKER_00]: Vincent says, So I started listening to your podcast about a week ago and I heard the one about the
[00:09:37] [SPEAKER_00]: cloaked predator looking creature and I nearly lost it when I heard these people's stories.
[00:09:42] [SPEAKER_00]: It also made me very happy to hear that I am not the only one who has had an encounter
[00:09:47] [SPEAKER_00]: with this entity. I've never told anyone about this before in fear of being thrown into the
[00:09:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Looney Bain and just that no one would ever believe me. I'm also not really sure what it is that I
[00:09:58] [SPEAKER_00]: saw. I just know that it saved my life that day. It was in Keen, New Hampshire in early
[00:10:05] [SPEAKER_00]: December of 2014. It's a small town that looks like its smack dab in the center of a crater
[00:10:10] [SPEAKER_00]: because it has hilly mountains on all sides, except for the southern side.
[00:10:15] [SPEAKER_00]: There is a place there called Sunset Rock and it's a short hike that's kind of steep
[00:10:20] [SPEAKER_00]: until you get close to the top. At the very top there is a cell tower or radio tower,
[00:10:25] [SPEAKER_00]: but just before that is a trail that leads out to Sunset Rock. As you can guess at Sunset,
[00:10:30] [SPEAKER_00]: you can see the whole town of Keen and it turns a beautiful yellow-orange.
[00:10:35] [SPEAKER_00]: However, my encounter happened in the morning. I woke up at 7.30 in the morning to a
[00:10:40] [SPEAKER_00]: breakup text from my then-girlfriend and she was breaking things off to go back to her axe.
[00:10:46] [SPEAKER_00]: I was a little upset and decided to hike up to Sunset Rock as that place always cheers me up.
[00:10:52] [SPEAKER_00]: It was cold that morning while I was heading up the mountain and I noticed the tops of the
[00:10:55] [SPEAKER_00]: trees moving, but I couldn't feel any wind and I assumed it just hadn't reached the bottom
[00:11:00] [SPEAKER_00]: of the trail yet and that I'd feel it as I got higher up the path. It was the clicking
[00:11:05] [SPEAKER_00]: that I thought was really odd at first and it sounded like a woodpecker off in the distance,
[00:11:10] [SPEAKER_00]: but it continued to follow me and thinking back about it now, the movement of the tops of the trees
[00:11:15] [SPEAKER_00]: followed me as well. As I reached the small clearing, the clicking noises stopped and I
[00:11:21] [SPEAKER_00]: walked up to the edge of the cliff on a big rock that pops up from the ground and I gazed
[00:11:26] [SPEAKER_00]: out. Half the town was covered in mist and it was cloudy and beautiful as always. I then got
[00:11:32] [SPEAKER_00]: startled by the clicking noise again, only it sounded like it was right behind me and I tried to
[00:11:37] [SPEAKER_00]: turn around quickly to see what was making the sound and that's when I slipped off the rock.
[00:11:42] [SPEAKER_00]: My immediate thought was, crap, I'm going to die, but just then something grabbed my arm and stopped
[00:11:48] [SPEAKER_00]: my fall. I'm 6'4 and at the time I was about 300 pounds so I looked over to see who grabbed
[00:11:54] [SPEAKER_00]: me and all I could see was a shimmer like when heat radiates off the pavement. The best way
[00:12:00] [SPEAKER_00]: to describe it is when predator is cloaked. It was very similar and the shimmer was in the shape of a
[00:12:05] [SPEAKER_00]: human. It had me by my arm, it clicked again and pulled me like a rag doll up onto the top of the cliff.
[00:12:13] [SPEAKER_00]: We stared at each other for about 15 or 20 seconds. I said thank you and it clicked again
[00:12:18] [SPEAKER_00]: and before I could ask what it wanted or what it was, it jumped over my head and into the
[00:12:24] [SPEAKER_00]: trees and that's when I lost sight of it. It was almost as tall as I was but had an average
[00:12:29] [SPEAKER_00]: build from what I could tell. I continued looking for it for another 30 minutes before I started to
[00:12:35] [SPEAKER_00]: notice how cold I was getting. I decided to head back down the mountain and I thought I noticed
[00:12:40] [SPEAKER_00]: it watching me from the treetops as I made my way back down. I was blown away about what
[00:12:45] [SPEAKER_00]: had happened to me and I couldn't believe it. I was afraid no one would ever believe me
[00:12:49] [SPEAKER_00]: or they'd just laugh at me so I kept it to myself all these years. Hearing your podcast
[00:12:54] [SPEAKER_00]: and these people's testimonies brought the whole encounter back to me and I'm thrilled
[00:12:59] [SPEAKER_00]: that I'm not the only one who has encountered this being. Thank you so much for listening,
[00:13:05] [SPEAKER_00]: it feels great to have a place where I can finally get this off of my chest.
[00:13:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Today's first listener story comes to us from Jessica. Jessica's story is called
[00:13:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Windigo. Jessica says, Hey Nick and team, I'm a huge fan of this podcast and have been
[00:13:25] [SPEAKER_00]: listening to it for the past seven months and I am elated to tell you that I am planning on becoming
[00:13:30] [SPEAKER_00]: a patron. I appreciate you giving all of us a safe space to share our experiences and for
[00:13:36] [SPEAKER_00]: also being a wealth of information for me regarding other phenomena. My experience begins
[00:13:41] [SPEAKER_00]: shortly after my dad passed away in 2007 when I was 12. I don't remember the exact date
[00:13:48] [SPEAKER_00]: but it was a heavy winter that year. I live in southeastern Wisconsin but at the time
[00:13:54] [SPEAKER_00]: I was on a trip in Door County, Wisconsin with my grandmother, my younger sister and some close
[00:13:59] [SPEAKER_00]: family friends. After everyone had settled in I decided I was going to put on my snow pant overalls
[00:14:05] [SPEAKER_00]: and explore a trail that led up some hills. I've always loved walking in nature and was hoping
[00:14:11] [SPEAKER_00]: that I'd see some wildlife. My sister decided to stay behind and watch TV so I was alone,
[00:14:17] [SPEAKER_00]: which I didn't mind. I walked for about 15 minutes and I was on a hill or cliff over
[00:14:23] [SPEAKER_00]: looking a snowy clearing in valley in the woods when I immediately noticed the color of red staining
[00:14:29] [SPEAKER_00]: the snow far below. I saw what I thought at first was a shaggy looking bear with a fresh meal. I'd
[00:14:36] [SPEAKER_00]: never seen a bear outside captivity before and I got as close as I could to the edge of the cliff
[00:14:41] [SPEAKER_00]: and watched it as I was laying in the snow. I was overcome with a feeling of bitter coldness
[00:14:46] [SPEAKER_00]: to my bones and felt an intense bad feeling or sensation which I now recognize as sheer terror
[00:14:53] [SPEAKER_00]: and dread. My eyes were fixated on the bear and I was frozen in fear. I saw it lift its head up and
[00:15:00] [SPEAKER_00]: it had long antlers. It was pretty far away so I couldn't see its whole head but I saw enough
[00:15:05] [SPEAKER_00]: to scare me to my core. It stood probably seven or eight feet tall. I said, what is that to
[00:15:12] [SPEAKER_00]: myself which was a huge mistake? It had heard me whisper it to myself and all of a sudden it was
[00:15:19] [SPEAKER_00]: looking right at me. We were locked on each other and I started to hear whispers in my head and
[00:15:25] [SPEAKER_00]: I felt paralyzed. The whispers stopped after a few seconds and I got back up and ran as fast as
[00:15:31] [SPEAKER_00]: I could back to the cabin. I could feel it behind me the whole way back and the wind hissed
[00:15:37] [SPEAKER_00]: with what sounded like what I can only describe as unearthly laughter. I busted in the door and made
[00:15:43] [SPEAKER_00]: sure that every entrance and even the windows were locked. With my eyes peeled looking through
[00:15:48] [SPEAKER_00]: every window, I told it that I saw something and I didn't know what it was and she brushed me off
[00:15:53] [SPEAKER_00]: not believing what I was telling her and my sister probably wasn't even listening.
[00:15:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Sorry this was so lengthy but I've never told anyone about this before
[00:16:03] [SPEAKER_00]: and I wanted to get all the details straight. I have a plan to go up there this winter and
[00:16:08] [SPEAKER_00]: investigate further and try to find it again for proof. I also have experiences regarding spirits,
[00:16:15] [SPEAKER_00]: UFOs, aliens and a dogman. I love the podcast. Jessica. Our next listener story comes to us
[00:16:27] [SPEAKER_00]: from Josh and Josh's story is called Night Terror. Josh says, so I've been thinking
[00:16:35] [SPEAKER_00]: about writing you for a little while now. I found your podcast earlier this year and I
[00:16:39] [SPEAKER_00]: eventually thought that maybe I would share my story with you. I am probably more of a tourist in the
[00:16:45] [SPEAKER_00]: paranormal and by that I mean I come to it for entertainment but I don't spend a lot of time
[00:16:50] [SPEAKER_00]: researching it or digging too far into anything. I am a religious person but over the years
[00:16:55] [SPEAKER_00]: I have found that faith is more important to me than an actual defined religion.
[00:17:00] [SPEAKER_00]: My family has strong Christian ties. They are active members in their church
[00:17:04] [SPEAKER_00]: and I still identify as one but I am open to the ideas of all religions and faiths
[00:17:09] [SPEAKER_00]: and I enjoy learning about them. For me, things like ghosts and demons are something
[00:17:15] [SPEAKER_00]: I can believe in as a concept but I tend to be pretty skeptical about how often people
[00:17:20] [SPEAKER_00]: actually experience them. I think it happens but less often than people think. That being
[00:17:26] [SPEAKER_00]: said, I do enjoy hearing about them and I am respectful of others experiences and tend to
[00:17:31] [SPEAKER_00]: ask a lot of questions about it because it is important to me to be there to listen
[00:17:35] [SPEAKER_00]: and to try to understand what some people have gone through. Your show gives me that to a point
[00:17:41] [SPEAKER_00]: and though at some times I am the skeptic, there are times I still enjoy getting freaked out a bit.
[00:17:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, here is my experience and feel free to share it or part of it if you want to on
[00:17:51] [SPEAKER_00]: just a warning though, it is kind of long. This happened in the fall of 2005. It was just a few
[00:17:59] [SPEAKER_00]: weeks before I left for my first deployment to the Middle East with the army. Now I had been
[00:18:04] [SPEAKER_00]: a horror movie fan for most of my life by this time but this experience terrified me to the
[00:18:09] [SPEAKER_00]: point of ruining my enjoyment of horror movies until just the last few years again, something
[00:18:15] [SPEAKER_00]: like 15 years now. So that night my wife and I had gone to sleep like we always did around 10pm
[00:18:21] [SPEAKER_00]: and I don't remember having any problems falling asleep or anything so it was pretty normal.
[00:18:27] [SPEAKER_00]: Also, I am what I have heard called a lucid dreamer meaning I normally know I am dreaming
[00:18:32] [SPEAKER_00]: and I can even affect what happens in a dream when I want to. That night at some point
[00:18:38] [SPEAKER_00]: I began having the worst nightmare of my life. In the dream I was laying in my bed
[00:18:42] [SPEAKER_00]: and everything was normal. I didn't even realize I was asleep at first because it all looked right.
[00:18:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Suddenly I heard a rumbling like an earthquake physically coming up the stairs just down
[00:18:53] [SPEAKER_00]: the hall from our room. I jumped out of bed to go slam the bedroom door in order to stop it
[00:18:58] [SPEAKER_00]: as we slept with it open and I just knew that whatever was coming was evil.
[00:19:03] [SPEAKER_00]: My wife woke up when I ran to the door and was screaming asking what it was
[00:19:07] [SPEAKER_00]: and I was able to slam it closed just in time before anything got in.
[00:19:12] [SPEAKER_00]: Then I realized that whatever it was could still come through the upstairs bathroom
[00:19:15] [SPEAKER_00]: that had doors to both our bedroom and the hallway that it was currently in.
[00:19:20] [SPEAKER_00]: So I ran in there, flipped on the lights and as I reached the door to the hallway
[00:19:24] [SPEAKER_00]: I could see what was there. What I saw in the already dark hall was a pitch black
[00:19:30] [SPEAKER_00]: formless mass moving towards me and I got an overwhelming feeling that if it touched
[00:19:35] [SPEAKER_00]: me something terrible would happen. All I could get from it was this feeling of overwhelming
[00:19:40] [SPEAKER_00]: malice and evil but there was just impenetrable darkness, no form. I was able to close the
[00:19:46] [SPEAKER_00]: door before it could enter but I wasn't able to lock it and the door quickly began to shake
[00:19:51] [SPEAKER_00]: in its frame enough that the latch wouldn't catch and it couldn't lock. My wife then
[00:19:56] [SPEAKER_00]: ran into the bathroom yelling at me and asking what was out there while I was fighting with
[00:20:01] [SPEAKER_00]: the door and too afraid to answer. I was however able to pull open the drawer in the bathroom counter
[00:20:07] [SPEAKER_00]: that was right next to the doorway which blocked the door from opening any more than one or two
[00:20:11] [SPEAKER_00]: inches. Suddenly the door stopped shaking like whatever it was had changed its mind
[00:20:16] [SPEAKER_00]: and then I looked at my wife and I realized that I had never locked the hallway door to our
[00:20:20] [SPEAKER_00]: bedroom when I shut it. I tried to run back to it but then I suddenly heard the door handle
[00:20:26] [SPEAKER_00]: click and began to open. My wife started screaming but before we could see anything I suddenly woke
[00:20:33] [SPEAKER_00]: up for real, suddenly back in my bed which never happens to me. I immediately looked at our bedroom
[00:20:39] [SPEAKER_00]: door and it sat there like normal, open to the hallway and looking like everything was fine
[00:20:43] [SPEAKER_00]: but it wasn't. Now I'm a big guy over six foot three and at the time I was around 230 pounds
[00:20:50] [SPEAKER_00]: even in my reserve unit I am significantly bigger than most of the other guys and I
[00:20:55] [SPEAKER_00]: rarely find myself in a situation that I can't handle physically but at that moment I was terrified.
[00:21:02] [SPEAKER_00]: My house which we had lived in for over a year suddenly felt very different and threatening
[00:21:07] [SPEAKER_00]: and I felt like something absolutely did not want me there. Being a good Catholic at the time
[00:21:13] [SPEAKER_00]: I kept a rosary next to my bed and I grabbed it right away and began praying almost feverishly.
[00:21:19] [SPEAKER_00]: I could not shake the feelings from the dream nor the feeling I was getting now
[00:21:23] [SPEAKER_00]: that I was awake. After 15 minutes or so I woke up my wife and told her what had happened
[00:21:29] [SPEAKER_00]: hoping just explaining the dream would calm me down but it did not. In fact when I had told my wife
[00:21:35] [SPEAKER_00]: the whole dream she got creeped out as well. I ended up getting so upset that we had to
[00:21:40] [SPEAKER_00]: leave the house and for the first and only time in my life since I had to drive to my
[00:21:45] [SPEAKER_00]: parents house and wake them up just to try and get them to help me calm down.
[00:21:49] [SPEAKER_00]: It was a strange thing being a 25 year old who was about to deploy to a war zone
[00:21:54] [SPEAKER_00]: and having to go to my mom and dad's house because of a bad dream. My dad was silent
[00:21:59] [SPEAKER_00]: about it when we talked but my mom who has always been a believer in ghosts talked it all
[00:22:04] [SPEAKER_00]: out with me and my wife and eventually after an hour or so we went home. I didn't really get
[00:22:10] [SPEAKER_00]: much sleep the rest of the night nor the next few after that and I never felt totally
[00:22:14] [SPEAKER_00]: comfortable in that house again. Even after two tours in Iraq where I served in active combat
[00:22:20] [SPEAKER_00]: and having dealt with some of the most traumatizing events a person can when I came home from each
[00:22:25] [SPEAKER_00]: tour I still felt threatened by something in that house some black mass that did not want me there.
[00:22:32] [SPEAKER_00]: I even would challenge it at times when I was there alone. I would sit in the dark
[00:22:36] [SPEAKER_00]: and dare it to come out again but other than the moments of the hair in my arms and necks
[00:22:41] [SPEAKER_00]: standing up and weird noises and remember it was a townhouse it never happened again.
[00:22:47] [SPEAKER_00]: About a year and a half after my last deployment we moved out of that townhouse and built a new one
[00:22:52] [SPEAKER_00]: of our own and we moved again a few years after that as well in each new house after settling in
[00:22:58] [SPEAKER_00]: I have always felt comfortable and I don't feel like whatever that threatening presence was
[00:23:02] [SPEAKER_00]: is following me afterward though I couldn't watch horror movies anymore especially ones about
[00:23:08] [SPEAKER_00]: demons and possession I had seen a few here and there but only at someone else's insisting.
[00:23:14] [SPEAKER_00]: My brother once got me to watch the first paranormal activity and I was uneasy and looking for spirits
[00:23:19] [SPEAKER_00]: and demons everywhere I went for weeks. Recently in the last three months I have rediscovered
[00:23:25] [SPEAKER_00]: my love for the genre and it's almost like a floodgate opening because I have been reading
[00:23:29] [SPEAKER_00]: about it and watching or listening to shows about it and my wife has even brought it up to see
[00:23:34] [SPEAKER_00]: if it still freaks me out. I truthfully don't even know for sure what changed my mind or feeling about it.
[00:23:41] [SPEAKER_00]: Anyway I have enjoyed your show and thank you for making this forum for people to get their
[00:23:45] [SPEAKER_00]: experiences out there. Truth be told I am still not sure what I experienced maybe it was just
[00:23:51] [SPEAKER_00]: the stress of knowing I was deploying but at the time I didn't think I was overly worried
[00:23:55] [SPEAKER_00]: about it. Even now thinking back about it I sometimes feel silly that I let it affect me
[00:24:00] [SPEAKER_00]: so much but then I remember how real it had felt at the time. A funny side note I have been
[00:24:07] [SPEAKER_00]: thinking about writing you for a few months now and today when I finally decided to while I was
[00:24:11] [SPEAKER_00]: looking up your email on the internet my computer speakers all of a sudden started to buzz with
[00:24:16] [SPEAKER_00]: feedback I was at work so I had to stop for a minute to do something else and when I started
[00:24:21] [SPEAKER_00]: looking again the speaker started buzzing again that hasn't happened before and I have had this
[00:24:27] [SPEAKER_00]: computer for a while now weird thanks again Josh our next story comes to us from Diana Diana's story
[00:24:40] [SPEAKER_00]: is called Yee Nald Lushi Diana says greetings Nick I have been bestowed the gift of your podcast
[00:24:47] [SPEAKER_00]: recently and I cannot express the gratitude I feel when I take a deep dive into the archive
[00:24:52] [SPEAKER_00]: of your well spent time like many of your listeners I have been surrounded by the paranormal
[00:24:57] [SPEAKER_00]: since my first breath on this plane my grandmother introduced me at a noticeably young age to ghost
[00:25:03] [SPEAKER_00]: stories television shows movies and everything of the like my earliest memories were of watching
[00:25:09] [SPEAKER_00]: the silent black and white Dracula and et was my first window to the idea of something more
[00:25:16] [SPEAKER_00]: to give a brief yet accurate depiction of my household growing up I was surrounded by
[00:25:21] [SPEAKER_00]: neo-peg and culture and became a confirmed methodist at 13 to rebel against the paganistic
[00:25:27] [SPEAKER_00]: lifestyle of my mother and sister my older sister spent many years as an eastern religions professor
[00:25:33] [SPEAKER_00]: and was one of the only white women in 50 years to participate in a traditional Haitian voodoo
[00:25:39] [SPEAKER_00]: practice I have been smacked upside the head for pronouncing voodoo and not the correct
[00:25:43] [SPEAKER_00]: way of voodoo I attended a matasori school early in the shadows of the front range mountains
[00:25:51] [SPEAKER_00]: and at 13 attended a birthday party where a well-renowned celestial medium read our cards
[00:25:58] [SPEAKER_00]: that very next day my mother took me to a store on pearl street mall in boulder colorado
[00:26:03] [SPEAKER_00]: where I purchased my first of many decks of cards according to the reading I received
[00:26:08] [SPEAKER_00]: my inner wise woman card was the first known Lilith Thanadirdra of the unspoken Christian
[00:26:14] [SPEAKER_00]: Testaments more commonly known as Lilith the first wife of Satan after being cast from the garden of
[00:26:21] [SPEAKER_00]: Eden I learned many commonalities of religion growing up and even though I was confirmed by
[00:26:26] [SPEAKER_00]: the church I walk my own path and have found my niche in the modern witchy world I'm writing
[00:26:33] [SPEAKER_00]: this short story to you because I recently listened to the tale told about skinwalkers
[00:26:38] [SPEAKER_00]: I dare only say the name once and make my story brief because as was told before the more attention
[00:26:45] [SPEAKER_00]: given the stronger the draw to invite them into your life part of attending this matasori school
[00:26:51] [SPEAKER_00]: was the privilege to participate in extravagant field trips my most memorable being to the
[00:26:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Hopi and Navajo reservations in Arizona I was of the first wasichu or greedy person
[00:27:03] [SPEAKER_00]: to not only witness but also participate in the annual kachina dances my grandmother collected
[00:27:09] [SPEAKER_00]: kachina dolls so I brought traditional handmade dolls home to her and still have them 19 years later
[00:27:15] [SPEAKER_00]: even after her departure I dare not lose them or mistreat them because of the power that still
[00:27:22] [SPEAKER_00]: remains within their hand carved statues while on the dene reservation we stayed in a Hogan
[00:27:29] [SPEAKER_00]: being Montessori our class was small 7th 7th grade and 3 8th grade I being in the 7th at the time
[00:27:36] [SPEAKER_00]: and the youngest of my grade we were instructed to enter the Hogan to the left and only walk
[00:27:42] [SPEAKER_00]: the hut in a clockwise manner each one of us was smudged with sage before entering the Hogan
[00:27:47] [SPEAKER_00]: for our stay on our first night we sat in a circle that covered the circumference of the
[00:27:53] [SPEAKER_00]: octagon nothing but our bodies sleeping bags and the wood furnace in the center consuming
[00:27:58] [SPEAKER_00]: space within the clay walls we participated in the stereotypical go around the circle and say
[00:28:04] [SPEAKER_00]: your name style that is grade school introductions by my turn I didn't even have the opportunity
[00:28:11] [SPEAKER_00]: to open my mouth before my native host locked eyes with me and said you're different we'll
[00:28:17] [SPEAKER_00]: speak later to be honest I do not believe he ever learned my name and that encounter is
[00:28:23] [SPEAKER_00]: another story for another time if so chosen to be shared on your show on our last night before
[00:28:29] [SPEAKER_00]: leaving to return home early the next morning we were all asked if we wanted to have ghost stories
[00:28:34] [SPEAKER_00]: and s'mores being the prepubescence we were of course there was a static chatter and yelps
[00:28:40] [SPEAKER_00]: of approval from my small crowd the only story I remember and the last one he told
[00:28:45] [SPEAKER_00]: was of the yee nald lusci I dare not emphasize pronunciation of this tongue because I would
[00:28:52] [SPEAKER_00]: not wish the interaction of such an unpleasant experience on my worst enemy
[00:28:57] [SPEAKER_00]: listening to your previous show resulted in my most recent encounter which I will share in a moment
[00:29:03] [SPEAKER_00]: but when our host uttered the word there was a certain omniscient cold that blanketed the
[00:29:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Hogan that night and the gentleman who had been staying in his modern house across the
[00:29:12] [SPEAKER_00]: property our entire stay slept in his clothes sitting with his back rested on the unused
[00:29:18] [SPEAKER_00]: stove facing the door that night I do not remember the exact story he told or its details
[00:29:25] [SPEAKER_00]: but I do remember the noise that crept into our naive hearts halfway through his telling
[00:29:31] [SPEAKER_00]: even thinking about it now almost two decades later my ears ring and my bones are cold
[00:29:38] [SPEAKER_00]: we were smudged again before leaving and we were told with a deathly seriousness
[00:29:42] [SPEAKER_00]: to never speak of these creatures in ill humor and to do our best to never bring
[00:29:47] [SPEAKER_00]: our minds or hearts to their attention for it would welcome them into our lives and we
[00:29:52] [SPEAKER_00]: certainly did not want that as he circled me with his bushel of burning sage from his acres
[00:29:58] [SPEAKER_00]: and acres of brush he looked me in the eyes with the same piercing gaze and whispered forgive me
[00:30:05] [SPEAKER_00]: which I do he knew I had been exposed and endured many other paranormal experiences in my life
[00:30:10] [SPEAKER_00]: and he knew I would continue to endure them until I take my last breath
[00:30:15] [SPEAKER_00]: shortly after this trip my parents grandmother and I moved to south central Pennsylvania
[00:30:22] [SPEAKER_00]: growing up in a non-traditional lifestyle my mother and my grandmother were always receptive
[00:30:26] [SPEAKER_00]: to my storytelling of experiences I had had and would often return similar encounters they
[00:30:31] [SPEAKER_00]: had had as well we lived in a house for exactly one year outside of Harrisburg and it was one
[00:30:37] [SPEAKER_00]: of the most intense paranormal years of my life again another story for another time but these
[00:30:44] [SPEAKER_00]: walkers were ever so prevalent on this property and was only a small variable in my mother's
[00:30:49] [SPEAKER_00]: actions of having our bags packed in a U-Haul before our lease was up I hated being in that
[00:30:55] [SPEAKER_00]: house alone tucked in a hillside of foliage hidden from the highway there was only feet
[00:31:01] [SPEAKER_00]: from the side of the house I had two cats in a malamute at the time and it was just
[00:31:06] [SPEAKER_00]: expected behavior to see them follow the lights around the inside of the house and growl at unseen
[00:31:11] [SPEAKER_00]: presences at all hours of the day and night we moved to a quiet little house set on top of a hill
[00:31:18] [SPEAKER_00]: miles from any other home or business in the middle of the woods not kidding my walk on the
[00:31:23] [SPEAKER_00]: driveway and road to the bus stop was a mile and a half and if I chose to take the shortcut
[00:31:28] [SPEAKER_00]: through the cornfield it was still a half a mile there was a well at the bottom of the
[00:31:33] [SPEAKER_00]: hill where the driveway bent to lead to the road and this residence happened during the era of the
[00:31:39] [SPEAKER_00]: ring movie and to say I hardly had any company is an understatement my very first time hearing a fox
[00:31:46] [SPEAKER_00]: cry was living at this residence I'm not sure if you or your listeners are familiar with
[00:31:51] [SPEAKER_00]: fox cries but it is the most terrifying natural noise I have ever been exposed to
[00:31:55] [SPEAKER_00]: and even in that distinctly less terrifying than a walker's call my high school sweetheart
[00:32:02] [SPEAKER_00]: lived on the other side of the cornfield and his bus stop was directly in front of his house
[00:32:06] [SPEAKER_00]: so for years we were dropped off on his sidewalk and he courteously took me home we were nearing
[00:32:12] [SPEAKER_00]: the age of 16 and my parents had recently divorced so I often had the house to myself
[00:32:17] [SPEAKER_00]: since my mother worked tirelessly to keep us afloat he came over one day after school to
[00:32:23] [SPEAKER_00]: spend the night and it was the only night he spent with me in my home I've always been
[00:32:28] [SPEAKER_00]: particular about my horror films and paranormal shows because I've experienced enough in my life
[00:32:33] [SPEAKER_00]: to know when something is a farce and I am drawn to pieces like your podcast for their validity
[00:32:38] [SPEAKER_00]: and factual based platforms unlike your previous author's encounter I am always afraid of these
[00:32:45] [SPEAKER_00]: encounters but the psychic who read my cards at that birthday party taught me how to create
[00:32:49] [SPEAKER_00]: a shield to protect my light from any negative effects these encounters might have
[00:32:55] [SPEAKER_00]: I have been physically hurt emotionally and spiritually as well but along with my protective
[00:33:00] [SPEAKER_00]: energy bubble I often call upon archangel Michael to stand with me thanks to my grandma
[00:33:05] [SPEAKER_00]: and have been told countless times in my life that Michael is prominent in my life
[00:33:10] [SPEAKER_00]: hence my firstborn child's middle name again another story for another time
[00:33:17] [SPEAKER_00]: my high school sweetheart and I were watching something delicately scary that night it is
[00:33:22] [SPEAKER_00]: hard to find like-minded people so to not discourage further time spent together I soften the
[00:33:27] [SPEAKER_00]: blow a bit with my preferred entertainment halfway through our show we heard the fox cry
[00:33:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Nathan as I will call him here so as not to disrespect his privacy jumped a little but quickly
[00:33:40] [SPEAKER_00]: realized what was happening and relaxed for we shared neighboring woods and it was less
[00:33:45] [SPEAKER_00]: uncommon for him growing up in this area fox cries are not only terrifying if you're not
[00:33:51] [SPEAKER_00]: familiar but they are sporadic in intervals which makes them more unsettling because you never know
[00:33:56] [SPEAKER_00]: when to expect the next if it ever comes the cry got closer and closer which I discredited
[00:34:03] [SPEAKER_00]: because their den was beneath the house and said fox was debunked before calling out to her pups
[00:34:09] [SPEAKER_00]: before retreating below our deck however as her cries grew closer a new sound emerged in
[00:34:16] [SPEAKER_00]: one I was familiar with but Nathan was not I silently prayed and called desperately upon Michael
[00:34:24] [SPEAKER_00]: while subconsciously surrounding myself my house and my boyfriend with white light it was summer
[00:34:31] [SPEAKER_00]: warm and I had left the sliding glass door open with the screen shut to keep the Junebugs
[00:34:37] [SPEAKER_00]: and various other woodland critters from entering the house the fox cry grew more
[00:34:42] [SPEAKER_00]: frequent and in a sense more distressed as she approached the house then as though a wet blanket
[00:34:48] [SPEAKER_00]: had been cast over our property it was dead silent the absence of any sound made my hair stand on end
[00:34:55] [SPEAKER_00]: and even Nathan had commented that he was creeped out the next few minutes of that night can only
[00:35:01] [SPEAKER_00]: be described as the most horrible nightmare like experience I have suffered through the howl
[00:35:08] [SPEAKER_00]: the long unhuman skin-crawling howl will always be ingrained unfavorably in my mind and soul
[00:35:15] [SPEAKER_00]: it started as a distant prolonged bark of a sick or wounded dog and with heavy breathing and my
[00:35:21] [SPEAKER_00]: heart beating in my ears soon ended up on the other side of my house opposite of the open
[00:35:26] [SPEAKER_00]: sliding door and echoing in the hollow trees of my backyard what is that was the last thing
[00:35:33] [SPEAKER_00]: I heard over the bone crunching of a small medium skull and dead thump of approximately 30 pound animal
[00:35:40] [SPEAKER_00]: on my deck as I flung my body weight to shut the door and simultaneously sweep the curtain closed
[00:35:46] [SPEAKER_00]: upstairs I barked and I believe the fear in my voice and my eyes was enough to convince Nathan
[00:35:52] [SPEAKER_00]: to haul ass up to the bedroom without questioning me like the tale told before it was large and
[00:35:59] [SPEAKER_00]: heavy-footed pacing like an angry and trapped tiger below my bedroom window I lit the candles burned
[00:36:05] [SPEAKER_00]: the sage to the nub and neither of us slept that night we broke up shortly after that for other
[00:36:11] [SPEAKER_00]: reasons but these sentient beings carry an air of bad luck to them which is why I have struggled
[00:36:17] [SPEAKER_00]: for so long to share that particular encounter I try awfully hard not to speak of these
[00:36:22] [SPEAKER_00]: experiences and dread the events that have yet to unfold after sharing this with you
[00:36:28] [SPEAKER_00]: many moons and eight years later I met my younger son's father we dated for about a year before I
[00:36:34] [SPEAKER_00]: got pregnant and he is of native descent with a like mind to the paranormal we shared many unnatural
[00:36:40] [SPEAKER_00]: experiences together and had an unspoken understanding to not bring attention to the walker however
[00:36:47] [SPEAKER_00]: one halloween night we were headed to my mother's house to pick up my oldest son
[00:36:51] [SPEAKER_00]: before trick-or-treating there is an avenue that is a straight shot from his house to
[00:36:56] [SPEAKER_00]: my mother's abode I cannot tell you how many times I've driven walked and traveled this road
[00:37:02] [SPEAKER_00]: which resides beside a small creek in a lake in the middle of a public park late one night
[00:37:08] [SPEAKER_00]: dad was in the passenger seat and shouted watch it in my peripheral I saw a dog running toward
[00:37:14] [SPEAKER_00]: the road once I locked eyes on this dog and hit my brakes I noticed that its gate was off
[00:37:20] [SPEAKER_00]: like it was injured as this creature crossed into the street light it morphed into an
[00:37:25] [SPEAKER_00]: unearthly ape-like figure that loped into the illuminated circle and crossed back into the
[00:37:31] [SPEAKER_00]: shadow shrinking toward the ground and cantering off into the night with a limp the car was stopped
[00:37:37] [SPEAKER_00]: at this point and we looked at each other silent tears in my eyes we never spoke of it except
[00:37:44] [SPEAKER_00]: maybe once or twice in private only drawing attention to it by saying do you remember
[00:37:50] [SPEAKER_00]: again I have not shared this with many and I dread the aftermath of this gaining attention
[00:37:55] [SPEAKER_00]: through your endeavors even if it is not read out loud to the listeners I just wanted to share it
[00:38:01] [SPEAKER_00]: to get it off my mind and put it in the hands of a fellow investigator to help contribute to
[00:38:06] [SPEAKER_00]: the founding research of the ever-growing otherworldly experiences in fact the reason I bring it up
[00:38:13] [SPEAKER_00]: today on the first day of the new year is because just a little while ago my eight-year-old
[00:38:19] [SPEAKER_00]: was dropped off for my shared time and out of the blue he approached me and my current partner
[00:38:24] [SPEAKER_00]: abruptly asking do you remember the time we were driving with dad and you guys saw the skinwalker
[00:38:30] [SPEAKER_00]: to which I quickly educated him that we do not speak of them think of them or draw attention to
[00:38:36] [SPEAKER_00]: them days later on my drive to work I was listening to your podcast and the show that
[00:38:42] [SPEAKER_00]: was randomly selected was your most recent walker story it gave me the courage and the
[00:38:47] [SPEAKER_00]: validation I needed to share my story with you I appreciate your time and I greatly appreciate
[00:38:53] [SPEAKER_00]: the dedication you have for investigating and delivering truthful information to your audience
[00:38:59] [SPEAKER_00]: after a few months of listening I finally had the courage to reach out to you
[00:39:03] [SPEAKER_00]: and am grateful for the space I'm allowed to consume in your day to the new year and 365
[00:39:09] [SPEAKER_00]: days of exploring and more discoveries much gratitude and great appreciation Diana our
[00:39:20] [SPEAKER_00]: next listener story comes to us from Holly Holly's story is called shadow farm Holly says hi Nick
[00:39:28] [SPEAKER_00]: I wanted to share my most recent experience with you every Sunday I spend most of my day at the
[00:39:34] [SPEAKER_00]: barn taking care of the horses I start at about 6 a.m. and usually finish in three or four
[00:39:40] [SPEAKER_00]: hours about two weeks ago I was finishing up my last stall out of the eight and I heard someone shout
[00:39:46] [SPEAKER_00]: hey so I peeked out of the stall to see if any one of the other girls had come down
[00:39:51] [SPEAKER_00]: no one else was there so I shrugged it off and continued spreading the bedding a few minutes later
[00:39:56] [SPEAKER_00]: I heard the same voice distinctly female say hello in a sing song way like in a way you'd
[00:40:03] [SPEAKER_00]: say it if you were trying to find your friend I walked out of the stall and said hello back
[00:40:09] [SPEAKER_00]: but didn't hear anything else so I shrugged it off finished up my chores and went home for lunch
[00:40:15] [SPEAKER_00]: after I went back to the barn to do night chores I was home waiting for my boyfriend
[00:40:19] [SPEAKER_00]: so we could make dinner I was standing at the sink which is at the back of the house
[00:40:23] [SPEAKER_00]: literally on the back wall washing my dishes with my dog sitting next to me I distinctly
[00:40:29] [SPEAKER_00]: heard three knocks on the wall my dog who is named pup gave a low growl and put herself
[00:40:35] [SPEAKER_00]: between my legs which if anyone knows dog training is a protective stance the lights flickered and the
[00:40:42] [SPEAKER_00]: yard light outside went out but the motion light on the front steps turned on pup stayed with me
[00:40:48] [SPEAKER_00]: until my boyfriend got home I hadn't said anything about it to him and he turned to me and said
[00:40:54] [SPEAKER_00]: that he and his buddies had found an old foundation and cast iron stove in the woods
[00:40:58] [SPEAKER_00]: while four wheeling the back property to our knowledge there is no record of anyone having
[00:41:03] [SPEAKER_00]: owned the land before his dad had bought it 21 years ago and clear cut it for the house
[00:41:09] [SPEAKER_00]: so I shrugged it off and said oh that's weird and left it at that then yesterday Sunday again
[00:41:17] [SPEAKER_00]: I was at the barn going to get hay out of the lower barn to bring up to the main barn
[00:41:21] [SPEAKER_00]: the lower barn always creeps me out it's an old milk cow barn and still has a couple
[00:41:26] [SPEAKER_00]: stanchions left I was walking towards the back of the barn about to grab a bale of hay when
[00:41:32] [SPEAKER_00]: something darted out from what used to be a horse stall that's now storage and peeked around the
[00:41:37] [SPEAKER_00]: door jam trying not to panic at this point I told the shadow that it was scaring me that it was
[00:41:43] [SPEAKER_00]: not welcome while I was in there it then vanished I grabbed the hay and speed walked my happy butt
[00:41:50] [SPEAKER_00]: back to the main barn and sat down and tried to gather my head this barn has some negativity
[00:41:55] [SPEAKER_00]: around it and just in the last year or two I know of two human deaths and quite a few
[00:42:00] [SPEAKER_00]: animals it's weird because for my friends and I the barn is usually our happy place but most of
[00:42:07] [SPEAKER_00]: the time we're angry and at each other's throats I don't know if it's because after the last year
[00:42:13] [SPEAKER_00]: with everything we're all just stressed and tired or if it's because of the negativity on the
[00:42:17] [SPEAKER_00]: property but I'm hoping it gets better soon thanks for reading and wishing you a great
[00:42:23] [SPEAKER_00]: year of happiness and health holly our next story comes to us from Patrick Patrick story
[00:42:32] [SPEAKER_00]: is called spirits good or bad Patrick says first of all thank you there isn't really a way to
[00:42:40] [SPEAKER_00]: tell this in a summary so I'll just start with one experience for now this is an incident that
[00:42:45] [SPEAKER_00]: occurred in mid fall of 2012 in Norman Oklahoma when I was 16 years old I had started having
[00:42:51] [SPEAKER_00]: night terrors on a very consistent basis they only lasted for a few months if that and I will
[00:42:57] [SPEAKER_00]: type out the details to these episodes for a later date what I really want to discuss is a
[00:43:02] [SPEAKER_00]: single event in which I was witness to something I had never seen before and have yet to again
[00:43:08] [SPEAKER_00]: my childhood home was built on what is believed to be native american burial grounds
[00:43:12] [SPEAKER_00]: and I know that there have been links to these sites with reported paranormal activities
[00:43:17] [SPEAKER_00]: but I've never heard anyone talk about anything happening where we live
[00:43:21] [SPEAKER_00]: and to this day as far as I know my family is the only one that has talked about strange
[00:43:26] [SPEAKER_00]: activities one night my mother asked me to walk our dog outside to relieve himself
[00:43:31] [SPEAKER_00]: it was relatively quiet for the time and things seemed fine I didn't have any feeling of being
[00:43:37] [SPEAKER_00]: observed or anything so I walked around the property for about 15 minutes before I started
[00:43:42] [SPEAKER_00]: to notice frantic behaviors from the animals all around the horses at the stable were rearing
[00:43:48] [SPEAKER_00]: and yelling and every dog within at least a mile barking as if they sensed a terrible presence
[00:43:54] [SPEAKER_00]: I began to get serious and I scoped my surroundings all while my dog is silent and frozen with fear
[00:44:00] [SPEAKER_00]: the next thing I know is if outside of my own control my eyes lift up from my dog
[00:44:06] [SPEAKER_00]: and approximately 50 yards ahead of me across my parents field and through the line of trees
[00:44:11] [SPEAKER_00]: I saw what shocked me to my core a large figure of a shirtless man in what looked like a
[00:44:17] [SPEAKER_00]: chieftain's headdress no less than six or seven feet tall and about 250 pounds of pure muscle
[00:44:23] [SPEAKER_00]: and entirely engulfed in fire it was as clear as day and it was just standing in my neighbor's
[00:44:30] [SPEAKER_00]: backyard staring at me I looked at it for no more than a minute before my instinct took over
[00:44:36] [SPEAKER_00]: and I picked up my dog and sprinted inside at this point I was in tears worried that it
[00:44:42] [SPEAKER_00]: was about to follow me and do the unthinkable my parents were just sitting in the living room
[00:44:47] [SPEAKER_00]: talking and they saw my state of terror and asked me what had happened I explained and they had
[00:44:53] [SPEAKER_00]: no idea what to say or think I then stayed inside as my dad went to check around the
[00:44:58] [SPEAKER_00]: surrounding area only to come back without seeing anything our next story comes to us from Jenny
[00:45:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Jenny's story is called glowing orbs Jenny says I have been listening to several podcasts that
[00:45:16] [SPEAKER_00]: share paranormal stories but I have not felt comfortable sharing with any of them but I guess
[00:45:20] [SPEAKER_00]: I can share here because some of the listener's stories you have shared give me hope that I won't
[00:45:25] [SPEAKER_00]: be viewed as crazy I remember seeing things from a very young age I was brought up in a very
[00:45:31] [SPEAKER_00]: Christian home and not allowed to view any type of scary movies I woke up several times seeing lights
[00:45:38] [SPEAKER_00]: in other rooms from my room at night I am pretty sure what I was seeing was orbs but I didn't
[00:45:44] [SPEAKER_00]: know what they were at the time the orb scared me but I never mentioned them to anyone one night
[00:45:50] [SPEAKER_00]: I saw an orb in my parents room but it was acting different this orb was bouncing up and
[00:45:55] [SPEAKER_00]: down like it wanted to catch my attention I watched it bounce for a little bit and then I noticed little
[00:46:02] [SPEAKER_00]: dots of light coming from it the dots started to cover my floor and I got really scared of them
[00:46:08] [SPEAKER_00]: the dots were writhing around on my floor and I needed to use the restroom but I wouldn't put
[00:46:13] [SPEAKER_00]: my foot down with the dots I started screaming and woke my parents up my parents then rushed
[00:46:19] [SPEAKER_00]: into my room and turned on my light we then saw that the entire floor was covered in fire ants
[00:46:26] [SPEAKER_00]: they started biting my dad as soon as he got near me he grabbed me off my bed and handed me to my
[00:46:31] [SPEAKER_00]: mother who then took me into the bathroom he sprayed the floor of my room with bug killer
[00:46:36] [SPEAKER_00]: and I slept on the couch that night the weird thing about this event was my parents never
[00:46:42] [SPEAKER_00]: figured out where the ants had come from they were only in my room and they couldn't find a
[00:46:47] [SPEAKER_00]: hole or entry point for them and I am very allergic to fire ants they always leave a big
[00:46:53] [SPEAKER_00]: welt and get infected I grew up in Texas and avoiding fire ants isn't easy it felt like this
[00:47:00] [SPEAKER_00]: orb was a warning to me trying to protect me from a danger that I couldn't see in the dark
[00:47:05] [SPEAKER_00]: I wanted to thank you for your show and the work you do you make people feel comfortable
[00:47:10] [SPEAKER_00]: telling their stories and that is priceless I have many stories of things I have experienced
[00:47:16] [SPEAKER_00]: over my childhood and also adult years I am an empath with a few other gifts so at times it
[00:47:23] [SPEAKER_00]: feels like weird things and people are attracted to me I'm willing to share some of them so others
[00:47:29] [SPEAKER_00]: will know that they are not alone love and light to everyone in this trying time be safe
[00:47:38] [SPEAKER_00]: Jen our next story comes to us from Lisa Lisa's story is called my experiences
[00:47:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Lisa says hello Nick I hope this finds you and yours healthy and doing well during these
[00:47:53] [SPEAKER_00]: challenging times I have been listening to your podcast while working the last few weeks
[00:47:58] [SPEAKER_00]: I find the stories very intriguing and many of them resonate strongly with me
[00:48:02] [SPEAKER_00]: so I wanted to share a few of my own before I begin I would like to disclose that I am
[00:48:09] [SPEAKER_00]: a heyoki empath clair sentient and although admittedly I try to ignore it mildly clair
[00:48:15] [SPEAKER_00]: audience I have a ton of stories but will only write the few right now that center around the same
[00:48:21] [SPEAKER_00]: house and I have changed the names this all happened around 2004 or 2005 when I had just
[00:48:28] [SPEAKER_00]: started dating my second husband Jake at the time he rented a room from a co-worker named Tim
[00:48:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Tim was very strange and always had a creepy vibe about him I always wondered if perhaps he
[00:48:39] [SPEAKER_00]: either dabbled in things of a dark nature or if he just had something unusually sinister
[00:48:44] [SPEAKER_00]: inside of him either way his house always had an odd feel even when he wasn't there
[00:48:51] [SPEAKER_00]: so we were laying in bed one night Jake was already dozing lightly and I was just laying
[00:48:57] [SPEAKER_00]: there waiting to drift off to sleep myself I thought at first that my mind and eyes were
[00:49:02] [SPEAKER_00]: playing tricks on me when I saw what I can only describe as a darker than black smoky mass
[00:49:07] [SPEAKER_00]: forming directly above us on the ceiling I was confused because the room was pitch black
[00:49:12] [SPEAKER_00]: yet I could still see this mass materializing before my very eyes very clearly at first I didn't feel
[00:49:20] [SPEAKER_00]: anything and wasn't sure what to think but that quickly changed as I realized I was being gripped
[00:49:25] [SPEAKER_00]: by a paralyzing fear and knew this shadow form was watching me and contemplating doing harm
[00:49:31] [SPEAKER_00]: I was wide-eyed laying stark still feeling weighed down and holding my breath I had the
[00:49:37] [SPEAKER_00]: feeling that if I moved too quickly the shadow mass would pounce on me like a wild animal
[00:49:42] [SPEAKER_00]: and all the life and air would go out of me completely I was trying to nudge Jake awake
[00:49:47] [SPEAKER_00]: without moving too much and after what seemed like an eternity he finally roused and asked
[00:49:53] [SPEAKER_00]: what what's going on he sounded rather ticked off that I woke him up in barely an audible whisper
[00:49:59] [SPEAKER_00]: I asked what is on the ceiling at first he neither saw or said anything but when he finally
[00:50:06] [SPEAKER_00]: did all that came out was a long drown out um we both just laid there staring at this thing floating
[00:50:14] [SPEAKER_00]: above us for at least a minute I was scared to move but I knew I would come to harm if I didn't
[00:50:19] [SPEAKER_00]: I then grabbed my cell phone off the nightstand and turned the screen on the mass then moved
[00:50:25] [SPEAKER_00]: into the corner of the wall and ceiling at which point Jake and I jumped up grabbed shoes and
[00:50:30] [SPEAKER_00]: coats and bolted out of the room I tried to call my friend Leah who was a psychic medium
[00:50:36] [SPEAKER_00]: and light worker to ask what I should do and even though the call connected all you could hear
[00:50:41] [SPEAKER_00]: was crazy static and the only thing I kept vaguely hearing from her was to get out of the house
[00:50:46] [SPEAKER_00]: we ended up heading to her house to get away and never encountered that particular entity again
[00:50:53] [SPEAKER_00]: my second encounter at this house was outside Jake and I were sitting on the front
[00:50:57] [SPEAKER_00]: steps enjoying the warm night when this shadow person appeared in the street in front of us
[00:51:02] [SPEAKER_00]: it was walking up the street a little way and then just disappeared I remember it looking like a
[00:51:08] [SPEAKER_00]: teenage kid wearing a black hoodie we both felt like it was something keeping watch but it did
[00:51:13] [SPEAKER_00]: not have the bad intentions of the first shadow that we had encountered my third and by far
[00:51:19] [SPEAKER_00]: saddest experience in this house I will not forget as long as I live I have to mention
[00:51:24] [SPEAKER_00]: this involves my cousin not technically related as her uncle is married to my aunt but we became
[00:51:30] [SPEAKER_00]: fast friends as we lived very close to each other and hung out together frequently Jake and I were
[00:51:36] [SPEAKER_00]: in bed and had been asleep for a few hours when I was awakened by the feeling of someone or
[00:51:40] [SPEAKER_00]: something in the room with us I did not feel any fear which seemed unusual to me at the time
[00:51:46] [SPEAKER_00]: although I was a bit apprehensive to open my eyes to see what the presence was
[00:51:52] [SPEAKER_00]: when I did finally open my eyes my attention was immediately drawn to the closet it was an open
[00:51:58] [SPEAKER_00]: closet having no doors or curtains and Jake did not have anything hanging in there as he is kind
[00:52:04] [SPEAKER_00]: of a minimalist I only mentioned this as I have woken up in the middle of the night and seen
[00:52:09] [SPEAKER_00]: things on chairs and mistaken them for entities and then laughed at myself but this was not the
[00:52:14] [SPEAKER_00]: case this time I stared into the closet to make sure I was actually seeing what my eyes
[00:52:20] [SPEAKER_00]: were telling me there stood a shadowy but well-formed grim reaper sort of figure my rational
[00:52:27] [SPEAKER_00]: brain was telling me I should be scared but my intuition was telling me to not be so I wasn't
[00:52:33] [SPEAKER_00]: I remember thinking to myself in a matter-of-fact way uh there's a grim reaper in the closet
[00:52:39] [SPEAKER_00]: I didn't think anything else of it and then drifted back to sleep I woke up the next
[00:52:44] [SPEAKER_00]: morning not really thinking about it much until my phone rang it was my aunt calling me to tell me
[00:52:51] [SPEAKER_00]: that my cousin had committed suicide the night before she had hung herself in a closet needless
[00:52:57] [SPEAKER_00]: to say I was absolutely floored and rendered completely speechless I now know it was death
[00:53:04] [SPEAKER_00]: in the closet that had come to tell me about my cousin I'm sorry for the length of this
[00:53:10] [SPEAKER_00]: I wanted to share the three somewhat similar experiences I had in the same house
[00:53:15] [SPEAKER_00]: I honestly feel as though there was something about that house or even possibly something
[00:53:20] [SPEAKER_00]: the owner was doing that made it easier for all these shadow figures to come through
[00:53:25] [SPEAKER_00]: I have had loads of other experiences and will write more when I have time
[00:53:29] [SPEAKER_00]: thank you for reading and thank you for your podcast I feel like being able to hear other
[00:53:34] [SPEAKER_00]: people's stories and also be able to tell my own is a good way to cope with some of
[00:53:39] [SPEAKER_00]: the strange things that have happened to all of us especially when the people directly around you
[00:53:44] [SPEAKER_00]: tend to not believe you Lisa our next listener story comes to us from Kenneth
[00:53:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Kenneth says hello I have a really unique story along with a peculiar photo to share
[00:54:00] [SPEAKER_00]: I've been traveling across the country the last few days on a military pcs from
[00:54:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Wyoming to my new base in Florida along the way I have become a huge fan of your
[00:54:10] [SPEAKER_00]: podcast and want to share an extraterrestrial experience of mine along with a Sasquatch related photo
[00:54:17] [SPEAKER_00]: my experience occurred back when I was around nine years old in early 2001 when I was living in a small
[00:54:23] [SPEAKER_00]: farming community in California my younger brother and I had never had any significant
[00:54:29] [SPEAKER_00]: paranormal contact before this experience we were living with my father and stepmother
[00:54:34] [SPEAKER_00]: prior to their marriage in our old house they were planning on purchasing a larger house for
[00:54:40] [SPEAKER_00]: our blended family later that year my brother and I unbeknownst to us until later shared the
[00:54:46] [SPEAKER_00]: same exact dream on multiple occasions our dream took place in what would be our shared room in
[00:54:52] [SPEAKER_00]: the new house and we couldn't have had any clue what it looked like because it was a new
[00:54:57] [SPEAKER_00]: development being built in the dream we're both being levitated above our beds with
[00:55:02] [SPEAKER_00]: blankets draped across us and hanging down towards the bed a bright white light shining through the
[00:55:08] [SPEAKER_00]: shutters illuminating the entire room and at the foot of both of our beds standing between them
[00:55:13] [SPEAKER_00]: is an alien figure the figure is short about four to five feet tall and has a slender body with
[00:55:19] [SPEAKER_00]: a long cone shaped head and the blackest eyes that seem to have stars inside them
[00:55:25] [SPEAKER_00]: the alien is lifting its left arm up above its head and making a very steady deep humming
[00:55:30] [SPEAKER_00]: sound about a minute of relative time passes before the alien vanishes the light vanishes
[00:55:36] [SPEAKER_00]: and we fall to our beds at which point we are jolted awake fast forward about a year we are
[00:55:43] [SPEAKER_00]: living in the new house and myself and my three brothers are all in the backyard sitting in our
[00:55:48] [SPEAKER_00]: new hot tub because we thought we were so cool i brought up the dream and how it took place
[00:55:54] [SPEAKER_00]: in what is now our shared bedroom and my brother expressed confusion at first then almost excitement
[00:56:00] [SPEAKER_00]: as he shared that he had had the exact same dream about five minutes later i'm looking up into the
[00:56:06] [SPEAKER_00]: sky and i see a light traveling from north to south slightly larger and more prominent than
[00:56:12] [SPEAKER_00]: the appearing stars the light was slowly pulsing in and out from light to dim i watched it for
[00:56:19] [SPEAKER_00]: a few seconds and then out of nowhere it paused at its brightest point and then maneuvered in
[00:56:24] [SPEAKER_00]: a fashion that made me positive it was moving upward away from the earth i have no idea if
[00:56:30] [SPEAKER_00]: the dreams are related to the sighting but to this day i really feel that they are let me know what you
[00:56:36] [SPEAKER_00]: think sorry that was so long here is a photo of what i think might be a sasquatch or bigfoot print
[00:56:44] [SPEAKER_00]: this was taken on the air force base in wyoming no other prints could be made out
[00:56:48] [SPEAKER_00]: so it could be coincidence i will say it was windy and the blowing powder could have very
[00:56:53] [SPEAKER_00]: likely covered the other prints meaning this one would have been made deeper in the snow originally
[00:56:59] [SPEAKER_00]: i also wear a size 12 boot and was wearing steel toad boots at the time and this thing
[00:57:04] [SPEAKER_00]: makes my boot look small for anyone that's interested i have added kenith's photo to
[00:57:10] [SPEAKER_00]: our forum so you can see it firsthand our next listener story comes to us from anonymous
[00:57:19] [SPEAKER_00]: and their story is called time loop or doppelganger anonymous says hi nick i recently found your
[00:57:27] [SPEAKER_00]: podcast and i'm enjoying it very much i have a few stories and i will write back again with others
[00:57:32] [SPEAKER_00]: as i'd like to spread them out to offer you more content this story that i will share tonight
[00:57:37] [SPEAKER_00]: comes in the point of view of my best friend who i will refer to as red i have heard her repeat
[00:57:44] [SPEAKER_00]: this story so many times over the years and the details have never changed red worked as a bartender
[00:57:51] [SPEAKER_00]: in a nightclub in downtown denver colorado it was a typical saturday night and red got to the club
[00:57:57] [SPEAKER_00]: early to set up her area of the bar there are no customers in the club at this point just a few
[00:58:02] [SPEAKER_00]: employees including herself the club she worked at is actually three levels connected by one
[00:58:08] [SPEAKER_00]: main staircase in the center of the building the employee restroom was at the very top level
[00:58:13] [SPEAKER_00]: and so she went to climb the stairs and her coworker i'll call him jay came around the corner
[00:58:19] [SPEAKER_00]: from the upper level and walked right past her on the stairs they said their hellos and continued on
[00:58:25] [SPEAKER_00]: red gets to the next level of stairs and around the corner coming down the stairs is jay
[00:58:30] [SPEAKER_00]: again he said hello and kept on walking just like he had literally seconds prior
[00:58:37] [SPEAKER_00]: she was so stunned and confused but with the club about to open and get busy
[00:58:40] [SPEAKER_00]: she had no choice but to set it aside for the time being the night wore on but red couldn't shake the
[00:58:47] [SPEAKER_00]: extremely uneasy feeling she had so when the club was finally closing for the night she hurried to
[00:58:53] [SPEAKER_00]: tell jay what she saw to red shock jay tells her a story about something similar that happened to him
[00:58:59] [SPEAKER_00]: weeks prior he was in the lower level of the club with another worker of theirs named brandon
[00:59:05] [SPEAKER_00]: jay told red that brandon was being sort of weird because he wasn't talking much at all
[00:59:10] [SPEAKER_00]: and was just unusually quiet brandon is always joking and laughing so this behavior stood out
[00:59:16] [SPEAKER_00]: to jay but he also didn't think too much of it at the time they were cleaning up for the night
[00:59:22] [SPEAKER_00]: and jay says he'll be right back because he needed to use the restroom so he climbed the three
[00:59:27] [SPEAKER_00]: floors to the top floor bathroom and right as he's about to enter in the door out walks
[00:59:31] [SPEAKER_00]: brandon jay starts freaking out and tells brandon what had just happened and they both run down
[00:59:37] [SPEAKER_00]: to the main floor bar but it was empty my friend has a lot of stories similar to this either from
[00:59:44] [SPEAKER_00]: her experiences or someone she knows a lot of bars and clubs in the area of denver are in very old
[00:59:50] [SPEAKER_00]: buildings with a lot of history and some of that history being a little bit on the darker side
[00:59:56] [SPEAKER_00]: i hope you keep releasing episodes it's been a very welcome distraction during this pandemic
[01:00:02] [SPEAKER_00]: thank you our next story of the night comes from maya and maya's story is called weird and scary
[01:00:12] [SPEAKER_00]: experiences maya says i have a few experiences one started when i was about nine years old
[01:00:19] [SPEAKER_00]: i was living in my family's house in hothorn california in 1992 i fell asleep on the living
[01:00:25] [SPEAKER_00]: room couch one day i don't know if i was dreaming or if it was an out-of-body experience
[01:00:31] [SPEAKER_00]: but i was up in the air watching myself sleep and i could see a huge dark figure standing in
[01:00:36] [SPEAKER_00]: front of me watching me sleep as well my body on the couch could not move or speak but could feel
[01:00:42] [SPEAKER_00]: a presence later on throughout my 20s when i was living on my own in los angeles i had a
[01:00:49] [SPEAKER_00]: few more experiences i was living in a two bedroom house on top of four small garages
[01:00:54] [SPEAKER_00]: there was an alley right behind my house a lot of things happened in that alley
[01:00:59] [SPEAKER_00]: i even witnessed a murder in that alley one year i am a single mother with a daughter who was a child
[01:01:06] [SPEAKER_00]: at the time but due to my law enforcement work schedule she would stay at my parents house
[01:01:11] [SPEAKER_00]: until my off days so i was alone most of the time on multiple occasions while sleeping i would
[01:01:17] [SPEAKER_00]: hear footsteps coming down the hall and into my bedroom i would then feel the unoccupied side
[01:01:22] [SPEAKER_00]: of my bed sink down as if someone got into bed with me it would never touch me or move
[01:01:28] [SPEAKER_00]: anything it just felt like it got into bed and watched me i would be paralyzed and wouldn't be able to
[01:01:34] [SPEAKER_00]: move or scream i would just pray over and over in my head until it would go away i would then be able
[01:01:41] [SPEAKER_00]: to wake up and look around only to see that nothing was there after experiencing this i started
[01:01:47] [SPEAKER_00]: taking a number of pills ambient muscle relaxers etc that would literally knock me out cold all
[01:01:54] [SPEAKER_00]: night so that i could avoid it i know it's not good and i haven't done it since it all stopped
[01:02:00] [SPEAKER_00]: my daughter's room was so close to mine that we could see each other while we were both laying in
[01:02:05] [SPEAKER_00]: our own beds one day my daughter told me when we were both in my house she woke up in the middle
[01:02:10] [SPEAKER_00]: of the night and saw a dark figure on all fours crouching on her ceiling looking at her
[01:02:16] [SPEAKER_00]: she began to pray when she opened her eyes again she said that the creature had turned
[01:02:21] [SPEAKER_00]: to crawl into my room still crawling on the ceiling i never woke up and never saw the thing
[01:02:29] [SPEAKER_00]: one of my last experiences was the scariest one i was on a seven-day cruise throughout mexico
[01:02:35] [SPEAKER_00]: i never sleep on my back one because it hurts and two because it gives me a feeling of vulnerability
[01:02:42] [SPEAKER_00]: i was in bed with my ex-boyfriend in our room on the cruise ship and he was asleep i was sleeping
[01:02:48] [SPEAKER_00]: but was then startled by a four-legged scaly creature with a tail pointed ears red eyes and a
[01:02:54] [SPEAKER_00]: snout it was standing on my chest with its tongue going into my mouth and i could hear a deep
[01:03:00] [SPEAKER_00]: raspy whisper i don't know what it was saying but it wasn't a recognizable language i got up
[01:03:07] [SPEAKER_00]: crying hysterically when i got back home i told my co-worker and he said it was probably
[01:03:12] [SPEAKER_00]: because i was in mexican waters and it may have been el duende i googled el duende and looked at
[01:03:19] [SPEAKER_00]: the images and i saw the creature that was standing on my chest lastly my daughter is a classical
[01:03:26] [SPEAKER_00]: pianist her piano teacher took a trip to jerusalem one year i never told the piano teacher about
[01:03:32] [SPEAKER_00]: our experiences but when she returned she gave me three vials one with holy water one with holy
[01:03:39] [SPEAKER_00]: oil and one with holy soil i haven't had any experiences since except for one i fell asleep
[01:03:47] [SPEAKER_00]: on my couch and as soon as i got into a deep sleep i heard running up my hallway and then something
[01:03:53] [SPEAKER_00]: jumped onto my chest again i'm not sure if it was the gift from jerusalem that stopped those
[01:03:58] [SPEAKER_00]: experiences or if it was getting out of a bad relationship or maybe both i've always wondered
[01:04:04] [SPEAKER_00]: if it was possible that a bad relationship could conjure up a negative energy does anyone else think
[01:04:11] [SPEAKER_00]: so thank you for sharing maya our next story comes from courtney and courtney's story is called
[01:04:21] [SPEAKER_00]: late night knocking courtney says like many of your readers i recently stumbled across your
[01:04:28] [SPEAKER_00]: podcast and have been hooked for as long as i can remember i've been very drawn to the paranormal
[01:04:33] [SPEAKER_00]: i love scary movies halloween and any good ghost story but not just for the good adrenaline rush
[01:04:39] [SPEAKER_00]: i am genuinely intrigued by it i was very reluctant to write in and share my experiences but like most
[01:04:47] [SPEAKER_00]: people my experiences have been ridiculed or even discounted by others throughout my life
[01:04:53] [SPEAKER_00]: until now i haven't had a forum to feel comfortable telling others what i have experienced
[01:04:58] [SPEAKER_00]: my deciding factor to write in came last night while listening to an older podcast where a
[01:05:04] [SPEAKER_00]: couple recounted their time slip experience the writer mentioned the city that they were traveling
[01:05:09] [SPEAKER_00]: from which happened to be the name of the town i grew up in forney but i was certain it wasn't
[01:05:15] [SPEAKER_00]: my forney when the author gave the name of the neighboring town i literally shouted out in
[01:05:20] [SPEAKER_00]: my car because it was my forney as odd as it seems this made me feel like it was my sign
[01:05:26] [SPEAKER_00]: to be comfortable enough to share so here goes my family moved to forney when i was in the second
[01:05:33] [SPEAKER_00]: or third grade which was in the late 80s or early 90s the house we moved into was one of the
[01:05:39] [SPEAKER_00]: historical homes in the area built in 1908 by the town doctor like most doctors in that time
[01:05:46] [SPEAKER_00]: he lived and worked out of the same structure i don't recall having experiences when i was
[01:05:51] [SPEAKER_00]: younger at least none that stick out but from age 10 on is when that changed for me
[01:05:57] [SPEAKER_00]: i grew up in a single parent household with my mother younger sister and me we were very close
[01:06:03] [SPEAKER_00]: however my mom and sister did not share the same curiosity as i did with the paranormal
[01:06:09] [SPEAKER_00]: in fact it was quite the opposite while i have many encounters i could share that happened in
[01:06:14] [SPEAKER_00]: this house and continuing throughout my life i wanted to start with one that involved
[01:06:19] [SPEAKER_00]: more than just me since my mom was the sole provider she had several jobs which often left
[01:06:25] [SPEAKER_00]: me in charge of caring for my younger sister i didn't get much time to myself but when i did
[01:06:31] [SPEAKER_00]: stuff happened the first time that it occurred my mom and sister had gone to my grandma's house
[01:06:38] [SPEAKER_00]: for the night while i was left at home to finish some chores i was in the living room
[01:06:42] [SPEAKER_00]: folding clothes and watching tv when all of a sudden someone began banging on the back door
[01:06:48] [SPEAKER_00]: this wasn't just a knocking it was so loud and aggressive that i expected to see the door
[01:06:53] [SPEAKER_00]: buckling inward as i approached bang bang bang over and over without stopping i thought something
[01:07:01] [SPEAKER_00]: had happened or someone was in trouble so i sprinted to the back door just as i put my hand
[01:07:07] [SPEAKER_00]: on the door knob it stopped and moved to the front door it was an immediate change as if
[01:07:13] [SPEAKER_00]: someone was standing at both the back and front door and had coordinated what i thought to be a
[01:07:18] [SPEAKER_00]: prank the layout of the house was pretty open so while standing at the back door i could see a
[01:07:23] [SPEAKER_00]: clear path to the front door the porch light was on and i didn't see any shadow of someone
[01:07:28] [SPEAKER_00]: through the front door glass which i should have the door was old and the deadbolt was an
[01:07:34] [SPEAKER_00]: antique solid and sturdy metal latch that you would fasten from the frame of the door
[01:07:39] [SPEAKER_00]: itself the banging was just as aggressive on the front door as was on the back and i was sure
[01:07:44] [SPEAKER_00]: that the latch was going to break i sprinted to the front door again and as soon as i put my hand
[01:07:50] [SPEAKER_00]: on the door knob it stopped and went to the back door again by the time i reached the back
[01:07:56] [SPEAKER_00]: door the second time the banging stopped i have to admit i was a little miffed about this
[01:08:01] [SPEAKER_00]: i yanked the back door open about to give someone a piece of my mind but no one was there
[01:08:07] [SPEAKER_00]: i walked outside and around the house because surely i should have seen the pranksters but there
[01:08:12] [SPEAKER_00]: was no one in fact it was eerily quiet not really knowing what to do with that i went back inside
[01:08:19] [SPEAKER_00]: locked the doors and went about finishing my chores soon after a pattern developed this event
[01:08:26] [SPEAKER_00]: would happen every single time i was left by myself and would start at 10 20 p.m back door
[01:08:32] [SPEAKER_00]: then front door then back door then it would stop no one was ever there i tried to debunk or
[01:08:40] [SPEAKER_00]: outsmart it and the next time i was alone i would watch the clock and when it was close to 10 20
[01:08:45] [SPEAKER_00]: i would wait in the back room for it to begin but it didn't it's like it knew that i was
[01:08:51] [SPEAKER_00]: trying to catch it so it would hide or something i kept this to myself because i was so used to
[01:08:57] [SPEAKER_00]: being told that i was making things up with my crazy imagination or just not believed at all
[01:09:02] [SPEAKER_00]: until one day my sister who is four years younger than me sheepishly asked me if things happened
[01:09:08] [SPEAKER_00]: when i was at home alone she wouldn't look me in the eyes while asking me like she was embarrassed
[01:09:15] [SPEAKER_00]: to even bring it up turns out she was experiencing the same late night knocking that i was when she
[01:09:21] [SPEAKER_00]: was alone it would occur at the back door front door then back door and then stop this went on
[01:09:28] [SPEAKER_00]: for about three years and i had gotten used to it and would just ignore it while it was happening
[01:09:34] [SPEAKER_00]: fast forward i was now in high school and working a part-time job my sister was at
[01:09:39] [SPEAKER_00]: home with a friend and my mom was also at work i received a call at work from my sister who was
[01:09:45] [SPEAKER_00]: absolutely hysterical she was screaming and crying and just said get home it's happening
[01:09:50] [SPEAKER_00]: it's happening there's blood there's blood i rushed home to find my sister crying uncontrollably
[01:09:57] [SPEAKER_00]: in her bedroom with sheer terror on her face and her friend sitting on the edge of the bed
[01:10:01] [SPEAKER_00]: just staring off in like a shocked or comatose state when my sister finally calmed down she told
[01:10:08] [SPEAKER_00]: me that at 10 20 p.m the banging started on the back door it took her by surprise because this
[01:10:14] [SPEAKER_00]: time she was not alone so she knew something was different she said that the banging seemed
[01:10:19] [SPEAKER_00]: louder and more aggressive than before and in efforts to calm down her friend my sister went
[01:10:24] [SPEAKER_00]: through the motions of trying to answer the door it went from back door to front door to back door
[01:10:30] [SPEAKER_00]: but here is where it changed on the last round at the back door my sister said that she approached
[01:10:36] [SPEAKER_00]: the door and she heard a loud pop like a gunshot when she opened the door no one was there
[01:10:42] [SPEAKER_00]: and on the concrete porch and down the steps was a puddle of red liquid that she thought
[01:10:47] [SPEAKER_00]: was blood she slammed the door and called me when i went to inspect the back porch there was
[01:10:54] [SPEAKER_00]: nothing there no signs of any blood or other liquid anywhere and even more curious after this finale
[01:11:00] [SPEAKER_00]: we never experienced the knocking again over the years i have tried to research and find a
[01:11:06] [SPEAKER_00]: reason or explanation for our experiences but i have not been able to find answers my sister's
[01:11:12] [SPEAKER_00]: friend would never speak of this again almost like she blocked it out of her memory and my sister
[01:11:17] [SPEAKER_00]: now denies that it happened i think that is her way of coping with it sorry this is long
[01:11:24] [SPEAKER_00]: i just couldn't fully describe what happened in short sentences thanks for your hard work
[01:11:29] [SPEAKER_00]: and know that we appreciate you and the community you have built for us
[01:11:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Courtney our next story comes from Dana Dana's story is called until we meet again
[01:11:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Dana says my brother passed away almost five years ago of leukemia it broke my heart
[01:11:51] [SPEAKER_00]: i didn't get a chance to say goodbye it was one of many deaths in my family after my big brother
[01:11:57] [SPEAKER_00]: passed away i had a really hard time dealing with it we were best friends shortly after his
[01:12:03] [SPEAKER_00]: passing i went back to work and i was battling work and a deep depression i left work and came
[01:12:10] [SPEAKER_00]: home and i napped on the sofa i felt the cushion dipped down behind me as if someone laid down behind
[01:12:16] [SPEAKER_00]: me being half asleep and very groggy i thought it was my partner i then felt a hand on my arm
[01:12:23] [SPEAKER_00]: and a soothing touch i then turned over expecting to see my partner but it was my brother he
[01:12:30] [SPEAKER_00]: was looking right at me and he looked healthy and so real he spoke to me he said hi little sis
[01:12:37] [SPEAKER_00]: i just want you to know that i'm okay and i see that you are hurting i know that you love me and
[01:12:43] [SPEAKER_00]: that you miss me know that i am doing well he was so thin and frail when he passed in here
[01:12:50] [SPEAKER_00]: he was healthy and normal he was wearing a shirt that i gave him for christmas he told me that he
[01:12:55] [SPEAKER_00]: loves me and that we will see each other again i then woke up crying and shaking so bad my partner
[01:13:02] [SPEAKER_00]: walked in the room and when i told her she said that i needed to hear that i have had several
[01:13:08] [SPEAKER_00]: experiences and they are all very different but i thought it would be nice to share this one
[01:13:13] [SPEAKER_00]: thank you for all that you do dana our first midweek mystery comes from that gi on reddit
[01:13:24] [SPEAKER_00]: and their story is called my experience in the forest of ontario that gi says this is the
[01:13:32] [SPEAKER_00]: first time i've ever told this story to anyone other than a few of my close friends i would just
[01:13:37] [SPEAKER_00]: like to hear if anyone has experienced anything similar i found some photos for proof and i may
[01:13:43] [SPEAKER_00]: be able to track more down when i go home for the holidays i grew up in a rural community in
[01:13:49] [SPEAKER_00]: southern ontario and it was one of those places where everyone wears camo and when
[01:13:53] [SPEAKER_00]: deer hunting opens everything becomes deserted as a kid i spent the majority of my time in my
[01:13:59] [SPEAKER_00]: forest playing alone as my sisters weren't too fond of leaving the house and my closest friend
[01:14:04] [SPEAKER_00]: lived a few kilometers away my favorite pastime was finding anything that i could hit things with
[01:14:10] [SPEAKER_00]: a stick an axe or a hockey stick and just run around the woods for hours practicing my combat
[01:14:16] [SPEAKER_00]: skills against the defenseless trees every day my bus would drop me off at around 255 pm giving
[01:14:23] [SPEAKER_00]: me lots of time to defeat my wooden enemies before my parents returned around 5 30 pm and once it was
[01:14:30] [SPEAKER_00]: summer i was out there from the moment i woke up but i was always sure to be back in the house before
[01:14:35] [SPEAKER_00]: my parents got home so they couldn't catch me messing about with a splitting axe this was my
[01:14:41] [SPEAKER_00]: nightly routine from about age nine to 13 by around age 13 the act started to get boring
[01:14:48] [SPEAKER_00]: i knew my forest like the back of my hand and finally i had worked hard enough to buy an xbox
[01:14:54] [SPEAKER_00]: one summer day the internet went out ruining my game of metal of honor so i decided to do
[01:15:00] [SPEAKER_00]: the one thing i had done a million times before and go and get lost in my forest it was probably
[01:15:06] [SPEAKER_00]: around 10 or 10 30 am so i knew i had plenty of time before my dad came home this being southern
[01:15:13] [SPEAKER_00]: ontario the only thing that i was remotely scared of were fishers combined with the fact that i was
[01:15:19] [SPEAKER_00]: no longer interested in fighting the trees i only brought with me my fancy pocket knife which i
[01:15:24] [SPEAKER_00]: had kidnapped from my father's police cruiser i ran into my forest up the main path and over a
[01:15:30] [SPEAKER_00]: ridge i had scaled many times before i was gone probably 20 minutes when things started to feel
[01:15:37] [SPEAKER_00]: strange for some odd reason i felt as though i was being watched i had never seen anyone but
[01:15:43] [SPEAKER_00]: my neighbor in my forest before so i immediately tossed the idea aside thinking that i was just
[01:15:48] [SPEAKER_00]: being overreactive i kept running or walking for about another 10 minutes when the feeling started
[01:15:55] [SPEAKER_00]: to get much stronger i suddenly felt as though i was somewhere that i shouldn't be as though
[01:16:00] [SPEAKER_00]: the branches overhead started to get thicker and everything got much darker and much quieter
[01:16:06] [SPEAKER_00]: occasionally i would hear this strange sound it wasn't like any animal i'd heard before
[01:16:10] [SPEAKER_00]: but more like the bell on a bike with an odd echo to it almost like a metallic cricket i decided
[01:16:17] [SPEAKER_00]: that i should probably head home and i checked the time on my phone and it said that it was 11 am
[01:16:23] [SPEAKER_00]: it was then that i realized that i had no idea where i was keep in mind that i knew every inch
[01:16:29] [SPEAKER_00]: of this forest from the roads that border three sides to the lake that borders the other and i
[01:16:34] [SPEAKER_00]: had hiked every inch of it numerous times before yet i had no idea where i was and then things started
[01:16:41] [SPEAKER_00]: to get stranger i looked down around my feet and saw a bunch of metal buckets and various metal tools
[01:16:47] [SPEAKER_00]: and this is when i heard a voice it seemed like a child calling for me by name the voice was
[01:16:53] [SPEAKER_00]: light and seemed to flow effortlessly on the wind in my panic i assumed it was one of my
[01:16:59] [SPEAKER_00]: sisters calling me to come home so naturally i called my sister's name back when i got no response
[01:17:05] [SPEAKER_00]: i took my phone out and tried calling but this being the middle of nowhere on the canadian shield
[01:17:10] [SPEAKER_00]: i had no service i looked around and out of the corner of my eye i saw something dart behind a
[01:17:16] [SPEAKER_00]: tree i looked around me and saw laying in the ground among the buckets a rusted red bicycle
[01:17:21] [SPEAKER_00]: and it looked like something from the 50s that you'd see in anti-nuke posters and the bike
[01:17:27] [SPEAKER_00]: seemed to be in the one part of the forest that light was shining through kind of staging it
[01:17:33] [SPEAKER_00]: i quickly opened my camera and took a photo thinking that my eyes were playing tricks on me
[01:17:38] [SPEAKER_00]: i then heard it again but by this time the child sounded like they were almost singing my name
[01:17:44] [SPEAKER_00]: breaking it up at the syllables i started to quickly walk away hoping that i would end up
[01:17:50] [SPEAKER_00]: anywhere but this area but the voice seemed to follow me and i kept seeing glimpses of
[01:17:55] [SPEAKER_00]: something running behind the trees that was keeping pace with me so naturally i started to
[01:18:00] [SPEAKER_00]: run as fast as i could i ran as quickly as my legs could manage not caring for the branches that
[01:18:06] [SPEAKER_00]: would whip me in my face and eyes after about 15 minutes of running things started to look familiar
[01:18:12] [SPEAKER_00]: i ran down a massive hill and the trees started to become more open and brighter
[01:18:18] [SPEAKER_00]: i slowed down and started to walk too terrified to check behind me once the feeling of impending
[01:18:24] [SPEAKER_00]: doom settled i finally mustered the strength to turn around and the moment i turned around is a moment
[01:18:30] [SPEAKER_00]: i will never forget i turned behind me and through the trees i saw my house as if i had been
[01:18:37] [SPEAKER_00]: running away from it the entire time thinking that i must have just gotten turned around and
[01:18:42] [SPEAKER_00]: absolutely hating the idea of running back into the forest i walked towards the house
[01:18:47] [SPEAKER_00]: as i was probably 100 meters from my house i heard a spine chilling shriek come from
[01:18:52] [SPEAKER_00]: the forest behind me similar to the sound of a mountain lion screaming or raccoons fighting
[01:18:58] [SPEAKER_00]: but it was far louder and seemed to be coming from not just one place but almost many places at once
[01:19:05] [SPEAKER_00]: i sprinted the final steps to my house and did not turn back and as soon as i entered the house
[01:19:10] [SPEAKER_00]: i came face to face with my father who was sitting at the kitchen table i looked at the
[01:19:15] [SPEAKER_00]: clock on the wall and saw that it was now 4 45 p.m i have no idea what happened in the
[01:19:21] [SPEAKER_00]: five hours between the time the photo was taken and the time that i got home all i remember is the
[01:19:27] [SPEAKER_00]: 30 minutes it took me to get in and around 20 minutes it took me to get out i went right to my room
[01:19:33] [SPEAKER_00]: and stared at the photo on my phone assuring myself that it had happened and i had seen what i had
[01:19:39] [SPEAKER_00]: seen this was almost five years ago and i still find myself looking at the photo to show myself
[01:19:46] [SPEAKER_00]: that it really happened and i didn't just go mad after that day i decided i would never venture
[01:19:51] [SPEAKER_00]: into the forest alone and started a new character on skyrim to assure that i wouldn't want to go
[01:19:57] [SPEAKER_00]: outside even if the internet was down my parents moved out of that house this past summer and
[01:20:03] [SPEAKER_00]: into the city i still love going outside and i even found myself working in an isolation
[01:20:08] [SPEAKER_00]: camp in the middle of the rockies this past summer yet i cannot go alone or outside the
[01:20:14] [SPEAKER_00]: calling range of a friend i have no idea what occurred that summer day and nothing paranormal
[01:20:20] [SPEAKER_00]: has ever happened to me before or since that date the picture that that gi took of the strange
[01:20:28] [SPEAKER_00]: area in the woods and the bike can be found in their post on reddit via the link in the show
[01:20:33] [SPEAKER_00]: notes and on our forum our next story of the night comes from kassandra kassandra's story is
[01:20:42] [SPEAKER_00]: called bigfoot peed on my tent kassandra says you've shared a couple of my encounters for which i'm
[01:20:50] [SPEAKER_00]: truly humbled and honored after a conversation with my family last night i was reminded of another
[01:20:56] [SPEAKER_00]: story i thought you might be interested in i'll try to keep it short as i know that you get many
[01:21:01] [SPEAKER_00]: tales sent to you my daughter and i love to go camping we found a little slice of heaven here
[01:21:08] [SPEAKER_00]: in central utah one that's a well-guarded secret from those that would exploit it the lake sits in
[01:21:14] [SPEAKER_00]: a dormant volcano with some areas speculated to be more than 400 feet deep official records listed at
[01:21:21] [SPEAKER_00]: 175 feet though those who have gone diving in that water would argue that statement there are
[01:21:27] [SPEAKER_00]: underground channels that spill out to another lake further south which provide the plentiful
[01:21:32] [SPEAKER_00]: fish means of travel between the two the lake is surrounded on the west side by beautiful aspen trees
[01:21:38] [SPEAKER_00]: and on the east side by ancient pines the dense forest and steep mountain side on the east side
[01:21:45] [SPEAKER_00]: make camping there impossible so everything is located on the west there's a beautiful marina
[01:21:50] [SPEAKER_00]: on the north side of the lake with an extremely friendly owner who remembers those that return
[01:21:55] [SPEAKER_00]: from year to year it also has an rv park for people that like to spend their summers there
[01:22:01] [SPEAKER_00]: and in the fall provides excellent space for those that like to go hunting this particular
[01:22:07] [SPEAKER_00]: camping trip was in mid-june in 2009 and my daughter and i were excited to spend the weekend in the
[01:22:12] [SPEAKER_00]: most beautiful place that we'd seen we pitched our tent bought wood for the fire and went to
[01:22:18] [SPEAKER_00]: the marina to grab a bite to eat some ice for the cooler and extra tackle we were eager
[01:22:23] [SPEAKER_00]: to get up and do some fishing so we went to bed shortly after sundown the moon was full
[01:22:28] [SPEAKER_00]: with no clouds in sight and it was truly magical i was awakened by a really foul stench around
[01:22:35] [SPEAKER_00]: two in the morning and peered out of the little window of our tent it was difficult to see where
[01:22:40] [SPEAKER_00]: the smell was coming from as whatever it was stood directly in front of it then out of nowhere
[01:22:45] [SPEAKER_00]: came the sound of water pouring on our tent but the smell assured me that it wasn't water
[01:22:51] [SPEAKER_00]: and i was quite angry that our tent was being peed on by some unseen creature at first i thought
[01:22:57] [SPEAKER_00]: it was a black bear or potentially an elk as both have a heavy presence in the area when i got up the
[01:23:04] [SPEAKER_00]: next morning however i was dumbfounded to see the largest set of footprints that i'd ever laid eyes
[01:23:09] [SPEAKER_00]: on walking around our tent they were nearly two feet long and almost a foot wide the left foot
[01:23:15] [SPEAKER_00]: appeared to be missing the pinky toe as there wasn't a print of it the right foot was normal
[01:23:20] [SPEAKER_00]: and they both stood at the side of our tent before walking off i woke my daughter right
[01:23:25] [SPEAKER_00]: away and showed her the tracks which freaked us both out a bit i had an ancient flip phone with no
[01:23:31] [SPEAKER_00]: camera capabilities so i wasn't able to take any pictures i was skeptical about the existence
[01:23:36] [SPEAKER_00]: of bigfoot but a small part of me wanted the adorable creature from harry and the hendersons
[01:23:41] [SPEAKER_00]: to be real there was no doubt in my mind that those tracks were from a sasquatch but why it
[01:23:47] [SPEAKER_00]: decided to pee on our tent is a mystery but after speaking with the foremost authority on
[01:23:52] [SPEAKER_00]: bigfoot dr. jeff meldrum i learned that this was actually a common occurrence i gave him the
[01:23:58] [SPEAKER_00]: information as well as my own contact information and left it at that he contacted me sometime later
[01:24:04] [SPEAKER_00]: to say that he'd found and made several casts of prints from the surrounding area and he thanked
[01:24:10] [SPEAKER_00]: me for my information while it was rather unnerving at the time i haven't personally heard of
[01:24:16] [SPEAKER_00]: anyone getting pee down by sasquatch and it's an experience i will never forget thanks for being
[01:24:22] [SPEAKER_00]: awesome and providing a place for us to share our experiences with others i'd be interested to know
[01:24:27] [SPEAKER_00]: if any of your other listeners have had a similar experience as it's truly remarkable and bizarre
[01:24:34] [SPEAKER_00]: love from my daughter and i kassandra our next story of the night comes from jenna
[01:24:42] [SPEAKER_00]: and jenna's story is called paranormal camping experience jenna says hello nick i have an interesting
[01:24:50] [SPEAKER_00]: paranormal experience to share with you from vancouver island canada back in 2009 my boyfriend our
[01:24:57] [SPEAKER_00]: two-year-old daughter and i decided to go camping it was still early in the year so we knew that
[01:25:03] [SPEAKER_00]: we were likely to have the entire place to ourselves we packed up the truck and camper and
[01:25:08] [SPEAKER_00]: then headed out on a long drive up island with no particular destination in mind just a general area
[01:25:15] [SPEAKER_00]: north vancouver island is mostly dense forest and quite secluded we eventually decided on a location
[01:25:21] [SPEAKER_00]: and for about two or three hours of the drive we were out of cell service driving down gravel
[01:25:27] [SPEAKER_00]: roads until we got to the lake we were correct about having the entire place to ourselves
[01:25:32] [SPEAKER_00]: so we figured we would set up camp on the public beach spot instead of the designated campsites
[01:25:37] [SPEAKER_00]: but before we did i suggested that we go and look at the sites to make sure that we got the best spot
[01:25:42] [SPEAKER_00]: one site was right on the lake so i asked my boyfriend to drive into it so we could take a
[01:25:47] [SPEAKER_00]: closer look as i got out of the vehicle i noticed a memorial located on the site it read name of
[01:25:54] [SPEAKER_00]: person died here presumably drowned so we decided to head back to our original spot we drove
[01:26:01] [SPEAKER_00]: along ways to get to the lake so by the time we were setting up it was about 10 p.m and dark
[01:26:06] [SPEAKER_00]: we decided to focus on making a fire to roast a few hot dogs and then call it a night our daughter
[01:26:12] [SPEAKER_00]: seemed to be very anxious the moment that we got out of the truck and she would hardly let her
[01:26:17] [SPEAKER_00]: dad put her down and insisted that he hold her most of the time i wandered down to the water
[01:26:22] [SPEAKER_00]: by myself while they made a fire and just stood there for a few minutes noticing the clouds
[01:26:27] [SPEAKER_00]: parting and the moon becoming visible once i returned to the fire and began roasting a hot dog
[01:26:33] [SPEAKER_00]: i asked my boyfriend if he could hear the noise over the mountains he replied that it must have
[01:26:38] [SPEAKER_00]: been a plane and i remember thinking that it was odd that a plane would be all that way out at
[01:26:43] [SPEAKER_00]: that hour but i shrugged it off after about an hour or so with our daughter becoming
[01:26:48] [SPEAKER_00]: increasingly anxious we started to hear a noise coming from the direction of the lake it sounded
[01:26:53] [SPEAKER_00]: like someone splashing around so my logical senses told me that it must be a large animal
[01:26:58] [SPEAKER_00]: walking through the stream by the lake or shore i'm quite intuitive and my instincts told me to just
[01:27:04] [SPEAKER_00]: ignore it but my boyfriend was becoming quite paranoid and couldn't stop pointing out that
[01:27:09] [SPEAKER_00]: it was going on after a few minutes i noticed that the sound seemed to get louder and felt
[01:27:14] [SPEAKER_00]: closer so i figured that we best take a flashlight and check to make sure that there
[01:27:18] [SPEAKER_00]: wasn't a bear or something coming too close we shined the light over to the area i figured it
[01:27:23] [SPEAKER_00]: must be coming from but there was nothing there i told my boyfriend that it sounded like someone
[01:27:29] [SPEAKER_00]: struggling to swim and at one point my boyfriend thought that he had seen something in the lake
[01:27:33] [SPEAKER_00]: but i was still trying to be logical thinking that it had to be an animal near the shore
[01:27:38] [SPEAKER_00]: so i made him shine the light back in that direction now i've always been a believer
[01:27:43] [SPEAKER_00]: in ghosts spirits etc so when i said well you know that guy drowned here my boyfriend got scared
[01:27:50] [SPEAKER_00]: and said do not say that i then started to notice that the splashing sounded like it was being played
[01:27:56] [SPEAKER_00]: on a loop we would hear the splashing then silence for a few minutes and then it would start up again
[01:28:03] [SPEAKER_00]: i too began to get scared when i noticed that it was not only getting louder but it felt as if
[01:28:08] [SPEAKER_00]: it was getting closer we shined the light all over the lake for as far as we could see and there was
[01:28:13] [SPEAKER_00]: no one out there we looked at the camper and thought about just climbing in but at this point i was
[01:28:19] [SPEAKER_00]: feeling scared because i felt like the ominous presence had gotten closer to us i said should
[01:28:25] [SPEAKER_00]: we just leave i could tell by his response that he wanted to but he didn't want to be the one
[01:28:30] [SPEAKER_00]: to say it so we did we quickly gathered our stuff jumped in the truck and drove off once we got
[01:28:37] [SPEAKER_00]: back into service i looked up the name of the man on my phone it turns out he had gone down in a float
[01:28:42] [SPEAKER_00]: plane accident and was presumed to have drowned because they were never able to recover his body
[01:28:48] [SPEAKER_00]: we talked about it for most of the drive back and i figured that we must have somehow
[01:28:52] [SPEAKER_00]: experienced his final moments now i'm also into astrology moon phases etc and for some reason
[01:29:00] [SPEAKER_00]: i looked up the moon phase from the day his plane went down and it was the same as the night
[01:29:05] [SPEAKER_00]: that we were there his name is william brian silvestre i wasn't sure if i should include his
[01:29:11] [SPEAKER_00]: name out of respect for the family i'll include some screenshots as well i love your podcast
[01:29:17] [SPEAKER_00]: and thanks for taking the time to read my story jenna according to archives on september 4th 1968
[01:29:26] [SPEAKER_00]: william brian silvestre was piloting a float plane which apparently crashed during takeoff
[01:29:31] [SPEAKER_00]: william brian silvestre went missing while trying to swim to shore following the failed takeoff
[01:29:37] [SPEAKER_00]: i have posted the screenshots that jenna included on our forum our first story comes to us from
[01:29:47] [SPEAKER_00]: james and james's story is called little person james says hello nick i've been listening to
[01:29:55] [SPEAKER_00]: the podcast for about two weeks and i'm almost all caught up i wanted to share this story
[01:30:00] [SPEAKER_00]: i have not heard anything like it so far on here this happened in 2011 in my hometown in oklahoma
[01:30:08] [SPEAKER_00]: i had woken up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and this is nothing out of
[01:30:12] [SPEAKER_00]: the ordinary as it happens a lot as i was in the bathroom i felt as though i was being watched
[01:30:17] [SPEAKER_00]: from the window next to the toilet i scare pretty easily so i thought nothing of it
[01:30:22] [SPEAKER_00]: and i ignored the feeling a short time passed and i was growing more uneasy i then found
[01:30:28] [SPEAKER_00]: the courage to look out of the window only to see a small figure with its hands pressed on the
[01:30:33] [SPEAKER_00]: outside window sill looking at me upon me seeing it it dropped and began to run around the side of
[01:30:40] [SPEAKER_00]: my house to the front i quickly ran out of the bathroom to the front window in my house to
[01:30:45] [SPEAKER_00]: see if i could see it i looked and saw a small figure about the size of a toddler sprinting
[01:30:50] [SPEAKER_00]: across the highway into a field and it then disappeared just a little background i have three
[01:30:57] [SPEAKER_00]: close neighbors who all have kids around my age but no children after seeing this and not believing
[01:31:03] [SPEAKER_00]: what i had just seen i checked the time to see what it was and it was 340 much too early for
[01:31:09] [SPEAKER_00]: anyone to be awake i think i was in shock but i went to bed anyway the next morning i woke up
[01:31:16] [SPEAKER_00]: and thought about what had happened it sounded crazy even now so i just thought it had been a
[01:31:21] [SPEAKER_00]: weird dream i went to the bathroom to the same window and looked out to my surprise i saw a
[01:31:27] [SPEAKER_00]: five gallon bucket right at the base of the window as if something had used it as a step stool to
[01:31:32] [SPEAKER_00]: peer into the window i then realized that what i had seen had actually happened and i just had
[01:31:39] [SPEAKER_00]: a weird feeling after that there is no folklore or any crazy stories in my town so i have no
[01:31:45] [SPEAKER_00]: clue what i might have seen and i have not seen it since if any other listeners have had a
[01:31:51] [SPEAKER_00]: similar experience please feel free to reach out to me and share your story i'm sorry for the length
[01:31:57] [SPEAKER_00]: but i really wanted to share thank you for taking the time to read my story and keep up the great
[01:32:02] [SPEAKER_00]: work i look forward to future episodes i reached out to james and asked for additional details
[01:32:08] [SPEAKER_00]: regarding the creature that he witnessed and james had this to say i could not make out anything
[01:32:14] [SPEAKER_00]: that the creature was wearing but it had human features like the eyes and mouth and moved with
[01:32:20] [SPEAKER_00]: agility like a human but it was no more than two and a half feet tall i'm sorry that i can't recall
[01:32:26] [SPEAKER_00]: more even to this day i thought it was just a fever dream until i got some validation from my siblings
[01:32:31] [SPEAKER_00]: who remember it too they never actually saw it but they all remember a bucket being under the
[01:32:37] [SPEAKER_00]: window like something small had been trying to peer inside and the same night that i saw the
[01:32:42] [SPEAKER_00]: creature my sister told me that she had heard scratching on that window when she had been
[01:32:46] [SPEAKER_00]: taking a bath that just made me feel that i wasn't crazy and i actually did experience it
[01:32:55] [SPEAKER_00]: our next story comes to us from carolin and carolin's story is called unidentified aerial
[01:33:01] [SPEAKER_00]: phenomena carolin says i'm from salt lake city utah and on november 19th 2020 i was in my backyard
[01:33:10] [SPEAKER_00]: smoking cigarettes and talking on the phone with my nephew it was newly dark cold and clear
[01:33:16] [SPEAKER_00]: the moon was out and only a few wispy clouds while i was pacing the length of my patio something
[01:33:22] [SPEAKER_00]: cut my eye and i looked upward and saw an almost invisible craft glide toward the southeast and
[01:33:28] [SPEAKER_00]: out of sight i said to my nephew i think my eyes must be playing tricks on me because i just saw
[01:33:34] [SPEAKER_00]: something really weird i explained the fleeting image and then reminded him that i have keen
[01:33:40] [SPEAKER_00]: vision 2015 in one eye and 2012 in the other aka astronaut vision the last i checked but i also
[01:33:48] [SPEAKER_00]: have a sight difference called tetra chromancy where i see more colors than the average person if that
[01:33:54] [SPEAKER_00]: counts for anything so the very next night i bundled up tight and ventured back out early
[01:34:00] [SPEAKER_00]: to widen my window of opportunity to witness it again with no distraction i searched the
[01:34:06] [SPEAKER_00]: same strip of sky luckily the weather conditions were the same as before because low and behold i
[01:34:12] [SPEAKER_00]: saw it again this time i got a good long look as it took around 10 seconds to cross the sky
[01:34:18] [SPEAKER_00]: it was silent and steady it did not change course or speed no lights blinking or reflecting
[01:34:24] [SPEAKER_00]: it was definitely in our atmosphere around the altitude of a helicopter or small plane
[01:34:29] [SPEAKER_00]: but twice as big at least it moved with mass but seemingly only the front outline was visible
[01:34:36] [SPEAKER_00]: which looked like strangely connected whitish wings with randomly placed missing puzzle pieces
[01:34:42] [SPEAKER_00]: in asymmetrical vertical lines it was like i had a cloaking device that allowed it to
[01:34:48] [SPEAKER_00]: mimic its immediate atmosphere but it was glitching it didn't appear to be man-made
[01:34:53] [SPEAKER_00]: it was kind of ethereal looking like it was made of energy and there was a force to its trajectory
[01:34:59] [SPEAKER_00]: unlike anything that a holographic projector could possibly make especially traveling that distance
[01:35:06] [SPEAKER_00]: i was baffled but felt completely elated finally knowing that i did see something
[01:35:10] [SPEAKER_00]: that wasn't a weather anomaly or a flock of birds so that night i mentioned it to my teenage
[01:35:17] [SPEAKER_00]: daughter and she agreed to attempt to watch for it with me the third night she's out there with
[01:35:22] [SPEAKER_00]: me getting bored and cold as i was demanding complete focus and undivided attention when i
[01:35:28] [SPEAKER_00]: was just about to give in and give up out of pity for her i yelled out there it is and
[01:35:34] [SPEAKER_00]: immediately she saw it too again for about just under 10 seconds now my daughter is a no-nonsense
[01:35:41] [SPEAKER_00]: kind of gal and she couldn't explain it we then researched covert military aircraft plasma
[01:35:47] [SPEAKER_00]: aircraft and interdimensional aircraft and phenomena and not a single description resembles what we saw
[01:35:55] [SPEAKER_00]: i would just like to know what it was or if someone else saw it maybe it was just a super
[01:35:59] [SPEAKER_00]: high-tech prank the three sightings were about a half hour later each night and started around
[01:36:05] [SPEAKER_00]: 6 45 pm the fourth night was overcast and the fifth and so on and i still watch for it when i can
[01:36:13] [SPEAKER_00]: there is aftermath to this story but i really tried to trim the fat so please forgive the length
[01:36:19] [SPEAKER_00]: thank you for your time and your show carolin i spoke with carolin a few times after reading
[01:36:27] [SPEAKER_00]: her story and i asked her to elaborate on the aftermath she had mentioned and carolin
[01:36:32] [SPEAKER_00]: had this to say i would like to reiterate that the craft was silently traveling the exact same
[01:36:38] [SPEAKER_00]: direction no blinking light action never shifting course at approximately the same time three
[01:36:44] [SPEAKER_00]: nights in a row why such a mundane routine for such a fantastical object the abject
[01:36:51] [SPEAKER_00]: blatancy of it all is almost eerie i'm open to any suggestions and or hypotheses
[01:36:57] [SPEAKER_00]: from the get-go the first night of the three sightings i never had a bad or foreboding feeling
[01:37:02] [SPEAKER_00]: as strange as it was it wasn't a sinister sight nor left anything ominous in the air
[01:37:08] [SPEAKER_00]: quite the contrary on the second night after witnessing the ship or whatever it was that
[01:37:14] [SPEAKER_00]: crossed the sky i felt a sense of gratification i knew that what i had seen the night before
[01:37:19] [SPEAKER_00]: was real and not a fleeting phantom now all that was needed was final confirmation through a
[01:37:25] [SPEAKER_00]: secondary witness which would happen on the third and final night thanks to my daughter
[01:37:31] [SPEAKER_00]: as i was thinking all of this i was still staring at the stars i stayed out there for a long while
[01:37:36] [SPEAKER_00]: just hoping that the craft might return finally i made my way back inside the house to warm up
[01:37:42] [SPEAKER_00]: and after shedding a few layers i realized that i wasn't even cold and i felt completely elated
[01:37:48] [SPEAKER_00]: i was just standing there alone in my living room observing my whole being buzzing with
[01:37:53] [SPEAKER_00]: exhilaration i was just standing there in utter awe not walking around or stretching or anything
[01:37:59] [SPEAKER_00]: when out of the blue my left elbow popped a big pop it felt weird but good it was immediate
[01:38:05] [SPEAKER_00]: relief as my elbow had been ailing me for a week or so and i hadn't been able to fully extend it
[01:38:11] [SPEAKER_00]: since then my body has continued to inexplicably adjust itself randomly taking turns with each
[01:38:17] [SPEAKER_00]: joint from head to toe and on a daily basis i am no stranger to chiropractic medicine but beyond
[01:38:24] [SPEAKER_00]: being a knucklecracker i can't really adjust myself i've always envied those able to crank
[01:38:30] [SPEAKER_00]: their necks and twist their backs and have the satisfaction of getting all the cricks out
[01:38:35] [SPEAKER_00]: my entire life i've been fascinated by the ability the body has to naturally align and heal
[01:38:40] [SPEAKER_00]: itself it seems like my joints are unlocking and releasing years of harbored toxins of
[01:38:46] [SPEAKER_00]: the material and emotional kind which was long overdue i have continued to experience both
[01:38:53] [SPEAKER_00]: physiological and psychological benefits for instance i am the thrive in chaos type so i
[01:39:00] [SPEAKER_00]: tend to be cluttered when i found myself craving order and symmetry i began organizing my house
[01:39:05] [SPEAKER_00]: down to the last detail it is completely foreign to me to derive any pleasure from these tasks
[01:39:11] [SPEAKER_00]: tackling junk drawers and storage boxes kitchen cupboards etc i'm doing all of this in a new way
[01:39:18] [SPEAKER_00]: calm and collected a go with the flow kind of fashion as to when what and how i organize
[01:39:25] [SPEAKER_00]: unlike what i had maniacally tried to accomplish in failed attempts of the past also i have always
[01:39:31] [SPEAKER_00]: done my best to stay present and not allow my thoughts to wallow in the past nor scurry
[01:39:36] [SPEAKER_00]: off into the future constantly striving for balance and centeredness my personal big picture
[01:39:42] [SPEAKER_00]: takeaway here is realignment of the body mind and energy system i don't so much concern myself
[01:39:48] [SPEAKER_00]: with seeking enlightenment as i do achieving and living in harmony with myself the environment
[01:39:54] [SPEAKER_00]: and others i feel now that i can do that better than ever finally i would like to mention the
[01:40:01] [SPEAKER_00]: many mysterious monoliths that started popping up around the world a while ago the first of which
[01:40:06] [SPEAKER_00]: was right here in my own backyard of moab utah i found out about all of this about a week after
[01:40:12] [SPEAKER_00]: the first sighting which was on november 19th 2020 the utah monolith was discovered on november 18th
[01:40:19] [SPEAKER_00]: the day before people said it had appeared to have been there for at least 10 years and 10
[01:40:24] [SPEAKER_00]: days later it was gone removed disappeared i've heard conflicting stories it did seem manmade
[01:40:33] [SPEAKER_00]: but no one came forward to claim it no artist or pranksters and no talk of it since fyi moab is
[01:40:41] [SPEAKER_00]: located southeast of salt lake city which was the direction the elusive apparition or ghost
[01:40:46] [SPEAKER_00]: ship or otherworldly craft was traveling on those three nights as a skeptic and a 99 percenter in
[01:40:54] [SPEAKER_00]: what little i do believe nature is extremely odd all in its own it doesn't have to be supernatural
[01:41:00] [SPEAKER_00]: to be weird so perhaps this isn't paranormal just simply unexplained as of yet whatever it was
[01:41:08] [SPEAKER_00]: i'm grateful to be graced by the experience perhaps all of these things are just a series
[01:41:12] [SPEAKER_00]: of coincidences and on that note i bid you farewell may we all be happy healthy wealthy
[01:41:20] [SPEAKER_00]: and wise godspeed carolin our first story comes to us from francesca and francesca's story is called
[01:41:32] [SPEAKER_00]: late night babysitting francesca says hello nick i've never written into anything like this before
[01:41:40] [SPEAKER_00]: but hearing everyone else's stories has made me comfortable enough to share mine with you
[01:41:45] [SPEAKER_00]: this happened in 2013 in southern california my uncle called me and asked if i could watch my
[01:41:52] [SPEAKER_00]: cousins while he took my aunt out on a date at the time my cousins were 15 13 8 and 6 years old
[01:42:00] [SPEAKER_00]: i thought it was weird that my teenager cousins couldn't watch over everything but my uncle
[01:42:05] [SPEAKER_00]: is kind of controlling so it kind of made sense he just didn't believe that they were responsible
[01:42:10] [SPEAKER_00]: enough to take care of everything so i agreed and drove over to watch them i got there around 6 p.m
[01:42:17] [SPEAKER_00]: and my uncle gave me the lowdown of the house and told me to call him if anything happens soon
[01:42:23] [SPEAKER_00]: after that my aunt and uncle left for their date i soon started to fix dinner for everyone
[01:42:29] [SPEAKER_00]: and we ended up eating together at about 7 30 p.m after dinner i told my little eight and six
[01:42:35] [SPEAKER_00]: year old cousins to get ready for bed i walked them upstairs to the bedroom and they then brush
[01:42:41] [SPEAKER_00]: their teeth and change into their pj's soon after that i tucked them in and wished them a good night
[01:42:46] [SPEAKER_00]: i turned off their bedroom lights and shut their doors i walked down the hall and turned the
[01:42:52] [SPEAKER_00]: hall light off as well and i walked downstairs to the living room there my 13 and 15 year old
[01:42:58] [SPEAKER_00]: cousins are sitting on the two of the three couches in the living room so i said on the
[01:43:03] [SPEAKER_00]: couch that's unoccupied just to let you know they are both teenage girls so as i was saying
[01:43:09] [SPEAKER_00]: we were sitting on three separate couches in the living room the tv was on and we were watching
[01:43:14] [SPEAKER_00]: netflix i've always loved the paranormal so i suggested that we watched this paranormal show
[01:43:20] [SPEAKER_00]: on netflix by this time it's about eight o'clock my 15 year old cousin didn't really care what
[01:43:26] [SPEAKER_00]: we watched but my 13 year old cousin on the other hand was very apprehensive about watching
[01:43:31] [SPEAKER_00]: the show she told me that she can't do too much stuff like this because it's just too real for her
[01:43:37] [SPEAKER_00]: i kind of laughed it off and told her don't worry we're all together and it'll be fine
[01:43:43] [SPEAKER_00]: she then begrudgingly agreed and we watched the paranormal show by about 10 p.m my 15 year
[01:43:49] [SPEAKER_00]: old cousin fell asleep i think she had been in a deep sleep because she was snoring really loud
[01:43:54] [SPEAKER_00]: i had to turn up the volume on the tv to hear the show because of it after this it was
[01:43:59] [SPEAKER_00]: just me and my 13 year old cousin who were still awake we watched two more episodes together
[01:44:04] [SPEAKER_00]: and then she said that she couldn't watch the show anymore because it was freaking her out
[01:44:08] [SPEAKER_00]: so she just put her headphones on and listened to some music while scrolling through her cell
[01:44:13] [SPEAKER_00]: phone and by this time it was midnight i was a bit of a night owl at this time so i was still
[01:44:19] [SPEAKER_00]: awake and i was slightly annoyed that my uncle and aunt were not back from their date yet
[01:44:24] [SPEAKER_00]: but there wasn't much i could do about that i then realized that all the lights were on downstairs
[01:44:29] [SPEAKER_00]: so i then proceeded to turn them all off then i returned to the living room and continued to
[01:44:34] [SPEAKER_00]: watch the paranormal show at this time the only light that could be seen was the glow from the
[01:44:40] [SPEAKER_00]: large television i watched one more episode and i turned to notice that my 13 year old cousin
[01:44:45] [SPEAKER_00]: was now fast asleep by this time it was about 1 a.m i myself started to feel a little bit
[01:44:52] [SPEAKER_00]: sleepy so i decided to turn the tv off and try to sleep on the couch let me describe the house a
[01:44:58] [SPEAKER_00]: bit more for you so you can get a feel for the layout it was located in the hills away from any noise
[01:45:05] [SPEAKER_00]: this house was kind of old and it had two stories and the floors were all wooden including the
[01:45:10] [SPEAKER_00]: stairs and hallway it was winter time so it was relatively cold by california standards
[01:45:16] [SPEAKER_00]: the living room was located by the front door of the house and the bottom of the stairs
[01:45:20] [SPEAKER_00]: and the house had good acoustics so you could hear a lot from wherever you were
[01:45:25] [SPEAKER_00]: and this was only intensified by the quiet of the night so like i was saying all the lights
[01:45:31] [SPEAKER_00]: in the tv were off it was very dark and i couldn't see very far i could only make out
[01:45:36] [SPEAKER_00]: faint things in the pale light from the windows i got comfortable on the couch and i tried to go
[01:45:42] [SPEAKER_00]: to sleep as i laid there i heard the creaking of the house settling i assumed the cold winter
[01:45:48] [SPEAKER_00]: weather was making the old wood in the house expand explaining the noises i'm almost asleep when i hear
[01:45:54] [SPEAKER_00]: loud creaking coming from upstairs i then listened more and i realized that it's footsteps coming
[01:46:00] [SPEAKER_00]: from the hallway right above me upstairs i first think it's one of my younger cousins walking
[01:46:06] [SPEAKER_00]: to the bathroom but i don't see the hall light turn on or hear the bathroom door open the
[01:46:11] [SPEAKER_00]: steps continue and i try to figure out what's going on and all of a sudden the steps
[01:46:16] [SPEAKER_00]: then stop at the end of the hallway at this time i realize i haven't heard any of the bedroom doors
[01:46:22] [SPEAKER_00]: open i immediately start getting anxious and just then the steps continue down the hall this time
[01:46:28] [SPEAKER_00]: slower heavier almost like they're dragging along the hallway i then start to hear something
[01:46:35] [SPEAKER_00]: faintly like murmurs and sniffling at this point i'm kind of frozen just listening trying
[01:46:41] [SPEAKER_00]: to stay calm the steps slump their way to the other end of the hallway and then stop at this
[01:46:47] [SPEAKER_00]: point my heart is beating so hard and the dragging steps continue back the other side of the hallway
[01:46:53] [SPEAKER_00]: but this time it's different this time i clearly hear what sounds like a woman crying and she's
[01:46:59] [SPEAKER_00]: crying a little louder every couple of steps i'm officially starting to freak out at this time
[01:47:05] [SPEAKER_00]: and it dawns on me that i don't know what's up there but i have to check and make sure that
[01:47:10] [SPEAKER_00]: my little cousins are safe i'm scared out of my mind and the steps continue and the cries become
[01:47:16] [SPEAKER_00]: more and more audible i can't seem to summon the strength to go upstairs by myself so i quietly
[01:47:22] [SPEAKER_00]: try to shake my 15 year old cousin awake multiple times she's still snoring and in such a deep
[01:47:28] [SPEAKER_00]: sleep that i can't seem to wake her up so i go next to my 13 year old cousin on the other
[01:47:33] [SPEAKER_00]: couch and i try to wake her up i shake her a few times and slowly she wakes half awake she asks
[01:47:40] [SPEAKER_00]: me what's going on and after she asks me that question the steps upstairs completely stop along
[01:47:46] [SPEAKER_00]: with the loud crying i feel like i'm going crazy as i scramble to tell her that i need her to help
[01:47:52] [SPEAKER_00]: me check on the kids upstairs she sounds confused but agrees and i practically pull her arm off
[01:47:58] [SPEAKER_00]: as we scurry to the light switches i turn on the stair lights and we slowly go up the stairs
[01:48:04] [SPEAKER_00]: at this point i think she notices that i'm truly frightened i have no poker face so it probably
[01:48:09] [SPEAKER_00]: read loud on my face she holds my hand as i flick on the hallway light i look over the hall
[01:48:16] [SPEAKER_00]: but nothing is there we walk to my six and eight year old cousins rooms to check in on them
[01:48:21] [SPEAKER_00]: they're both fast asleep none the wiser to all that i've heard i make an audible sigh of relief
[01:48:27] [SPEAKER_00]: and we walk back down the hall my 13 year old cousin then reaches for the hallway light
[01:48:33] [SPEAKER_00]: and i quickly tell her to leave it on in a very shaky voice she looks at me and shrugs and we
[01:48:39] [SPEAKER_00]: walk down the stairs together and she then tries to turn off the lights downstairs as well but
[01:48:44] [SPEAKER_00]: i quickly stop her i can tell she knows that something's up we walk back to the living
[01:48:50] [SPEAKER_00]: room and sit down on the couch together i am very uncomfortable and i honestly just wanted
[01:48:55] [SPEAKER_00]: to leave the house but i had to stay until my uncle got back my 13 year old cousin sees that i'm still
[01:49:01] [SPEAKER_00]: visibly upset and asks me what happened i try to just downplay it and i say that i thought i heard
[01:49:07] [SPEAKER_00]: an animal or something upstairs in the hallway i keep glancing at the stairs half expecting
[01:49:13] [SPEAKER_00]: the crying person to be there and my cousin then stops me and asks what really happened
[01:49:19] [SPEAKER_00]: after gathering myself and sitting there quietly for a minute or two i try to
[01:49:24] [SPEAKER_00]: give her a warning that this sounds a little crazy she says it's fine and to just tell her already
[01:49:30] [SPEAKER_00]: i kind of stumble with my words but i managed to get out that i swear that i heard someone walking
[01:49:35] [SPEAKER_00]: back and forth upstairs just crying loudly she's quiet for a while and then laughs a little bit
[01:49:41] [SPEAKER_00]: she then proceeds to say very casually oh you mean the crying woman you heard the crying woman
[01:49:48] [SPEAKER_00]: i'm floored i'm like what and she proceeds to tell me that she sees her all the time late at night
[01:49:56] [SPEAKER_00]: she told me i shouldn't be scared of her that she doesn't hurt anyone
[01:49:59] [SPEAKER_00]: and my cousin continued saying this all she does is walk up and down the hallway crying
[01:50:05] [SPEAKER_00]: she's lost somebody close to her i kind of feel bad for her this was strangely comforting for me
[01:50:11] [SPEAKER_00]: to hear and it was nice to know that at least i wasn't alone in my experience that this was
[01:50:16] [SPEAKER_00]: a real confirmed experience and not just some weird delusion of mine my cousin continued saying
[01:50:23] [SPEAKER_00]: that i should be glad that i didn't see the smiling guy she said that she sees him outside of her bedroom
[01:50:29] [SPEAKER_00]: window sometimes and by the way her bedroom is on the second floor she said that all the
[01:50:36] [SPEAKER_00]: smiling guy does is stare at you while smiling a wide and creepy grin he never talks to her
[01:50:41] [SPEAKER_00]: but he definitely knows that she can see him she told me that she feels that he's bad and
[01:50:47] [SPEAKER_00]: that he wants inside the house but can't come in for whatever reason by this time my jaws to the
[01:50:53] [SPEAKER_00]: floor and she tells me that she sees spirits all the time and that most of the time they don't
[01:50:58] [SPEAKER_00]: even acknowledge that she's there she told me that she used to be terrified of them but now
[01:51:03] [SPEAKER_00]: she's kind of just getting used to it i'm then quiet trying to wrap my mind around what she's
[01:51:08] [SPEAKER_00]: told me when my uncle shows back up from his date i hug my cousin goodbye tell my uncle and aunt
[01:51:14] [SPEAKER_00]: everything was fine and i immediately drove home they offered for me to spend the night
[01:51:19] [SPEAKER_00]: but i declined right away long story short i never babysat for them again heck i never even went
[01:51:27] [SPEAKER_00]: back to that house again i always liked paranormal stuff and i still do but it hits you a lot
[01:51:34] [SPEAKER_00]: different when it's happening to you i haven't had anything like this ever happened to me since
[01:51:39] [SPEAKER_00]: and this is forever burned into my memory thank you for letting me share my story our first
[01:51:49] [SPEAKER_00]: midweek mystery comes to us from questor and questor stories are called the fawn and the
[01:51:56] [SPEAKER_00]: redheaded phantom questor says hey nick thank you for your time to read my stories i want
[01:52:04] [SPEAKER_00]: to start with my first encounter of something rare and mythical that i witnessed as a child
[01:52:08] [SPEAKER_00]: while vacationing in fair haven messachusetts i was about eight or nine and i decided to take my
[01:52:15] [SPEAKER_00]: bike out and across the bridge to a small convenience store to get some candy the cottage my parents
[01:52:21] [SPEAKER_00]: rented was set along a rather large river that eventually goes out to the ocean as i made
[01:52:26] [SPEAKER_00]: my way into the small store to get some more airheads i noticed that it smelled like old
[01:52:31] [SPEAKER_00]: musk i'm sure this place has been here for a very long time and it gave off a rather
[01:52:36] [SPEAKER_00]: uncomfortable feeling soon after i left i noticed on the side of the building that there was a small
[01:52:42] [SPEAKER_00]: pathway leading out behind curious as i always have been i decided to leave my bike and take
[01:52:49] [SPEAKER_00]: a stroll down the mysterious path now this is when it got weird the small pathway took me
[01:52:55] [SPEAKER_00]: through what seemed to be an old riverbed that was semi muddy yet not so bad that i couldn't walk
[01:53:01] [SPEAKER_00]: through i made my way into the dried up riverbed where i began to walk around sharp corners and
[01:53:07] [SPEAKER_00]: threw thick brush until i reached this one corner that made me stop dead in my tracks
[01:53:13] [SPEAKER_00]: right in front of me about six feet away stood what seemed to be a deer yet i could only see
[01:53:19] [SPEAKER_00]: the backside of it also in the semi muddy ground i could see hoof prints reminding me that a
[01:53:25] [SPEAKER_00]: deer had just passed by what was very different about this deer is that i could see the back
[01:53:30] [SPEAKER_00]: side of a man as well his elbows and back of his head were visible to me so in other words it was
[01:53:36] [SPEAKER_00]: a half man half deer it moved around the riverbed quickly and i just froze for a second
[01:53:43] [SPEAKER_00]: i made my way to the curve that it once was turning around and saw nothing except for
[01:53:48] [SPEAKER_00]: more hoof prints in the ground i was pretty creeped out by what i just saw and ran back
[01:53:53] [SPEAKER_00]: to my bike and then rode back to the cottage i believe it was a fawn of mythical folklore
[01:53:59] [SPEAKER_00]: and i will never forget that moment my other encounter with the paranormal is that of the
[01:54:06] [SPEAKER_00]: redheaded phantom of root 44 this happened while my ex was driving i in the passenger seat
[01:54:12] [SPEAKER_00]: and my three children in the back the story goes that if you're driving down root 44 headed
[01:54:18] [SPEAKER_00]: to rohoboth from seaconk at 11 p.m or 12 a.m the phantom will come out into the street
[01:54:25] [SPEAKER_00]: trying to make the driver swerve off the road i've known about this myth for quite some time now
[01:54:31] [SPEAKER_00]: but never believed it or encountered anything like it until now it was about 11 30 p.m and we
[01:54:38] [SPEAKER_00]: had just left my mother's home in rhodeland the kids were all asleep in the back and just me
[01:54:43] [SPEAKER_00]: and my ex left to chat about our night with my family but right as we passed the sign saying
[01:54:49] [SPEAKER_00]: rohoboth my ex slammed on the brakes making me quickly look up from my cell phone just at that
[01:54:55] [SPEAKER_00]: moment i looked over to my right to see a dark shadow run into the woods i asked my ex what
[01:55:01] [SPEAKER_00]: had happened and she replied i saw a man standing very close to the side of the road
[01:55:06] [SPEAKER_00]: and as i got closer he moved out more into the road so i slammed on my brakes
[01:55:10] [SPEAKER_00]: and that's when i looked up and saw something disappear into the woods
[01:55:15] [SPEAKER_00]: i personally didn't get a good look at it but i'm quite sure it was the redheaded phantom
[01:55:20] [SPEAKER_00]: stirring up some scares the area i grew up in massachusetts has a lot of paranormal activity
[01:55:26] [SPEAKER_00]: and possibly a bermuda triangle which is called the bridge water triangle there are many stories
[01:55:32] [SPEAKER_00]: that revolve around this theory and i know you have mentioned pakwaji before which is why
[01:55:36] [SPEAKER_00]: i am writing this all to you so that hopefully others like myself will share their paranormal stories
[01:55:43] [SPEAKER_00]: thank you very much for taking the time to read this and take care and be safe
[01:55:49] [SPEAKER_00]: questor's experience with the redheaded phantom intrigued me and i found an article on a cult world
[01:55:54] [SPEAKER_00]: that has to do with this bizarre entity in the article says this one of the most popular
[01:56:00] [SPEAKER_00]: and most notorious phantoms in massachusetts walks along a dark stretch of road in the town of
[01:56:05] [SPEAKER_00]: hoboth for more than three decades a redheaded man has been seen walking down route 44 waiting to be
[01:56:12] [SPEAKER_00]: picked up at times he has been seen hitchhiking and other times he has been seen walking into the
[01:56:18] [SPEAKER_00]: woods or in the middle of the road not moving as a car passes through him at least once he was
[01:56:23] [SPEAKER_00]: seen outside the window of a car that was moving at more than 40 miles per hour just who the man
[01:56:29] [SPEAKER_00]: is is a mystery and several people have died along that stretch of road including a man
[01:56:34] [SPEAKER_00]: matching the phantom's description but no one can say for sure who the man is
[01:56:39] [SPEAKER_00]: or when the haunting started he is described as being more than six feet tall well built and
[01:56:45] [SPEAKER_00]: having red hair and a red beard he is often seen wearing jeans or work pants but he is always
[01:56:51] [SPEAKER_00]: described as wearing a red flannel shirt sometimes tucked in and sometimes left out
[01:56:58] [SPEAKER_00]: some travelers see him as well-kept but he has also been seen with his characteristic
[01:57:02] [SPEAKER_00]: red hair disheveled and dirty people who come in contact with him can tell he is not human by
[01:57:08] [SPEAKER_00]: his eyes which are often described as lifeless most of the encounters follow a similar pattern to this
[01:57:16] [SPEAKER_00]: someone is driving along usually alone when they see a man in or along the roadside they may
[01:57:22] [SPEAKER_00]: either hit him or stop to pick him up the hitchhiker will interact with the person and
[01:57:27] [SPEAKER_00]: then eventually vanish before their eyes or will no longer be there when they turn to look
[01:57:33] [SPEAKER_00]: this is followed by some type of audio finale where he laughs yells at them or taunts them
[01:57:40] [SPEAKER_00]: a woman once reported stopping to pick the man up and he disappeared as he went to grab the
[01:57:45] [SPEAKER_00]: door handle her car battery then died and then she heard a man laughing at her although
[01:57:51] [SPEAKER_00]: he could no longer be seen ten minutes later the car started but not before the woman broke
[01:57:56] [SPEAKER_00]: down in fright one man had been driving alone when he saw the redheaded man on the side of the road
[01:58:02] [SPEAKER_00]: he stopped and called out to the man who started to walk toward him and as he got closer the
[01:58:08] [SPEAKER_00]: ghost slowly faded until he completely disappeared another witness had the hitchhiker appear in
[01:58:13] [SPEAKER_00]: the backseat of his car through the rearview mirror the radio started to scan the stations
[01:58:18] [SPEAKER_00]: and then became so loud it shook the car the phantom then disappeared and began to laugh
[01:58:24] [SPEAKER_00]: on the radio local legend says that if three people are driving in the same car on route 44
[01:58:31] [SPEAKER_00]: the redheaded hitchhiker will appear in the empty seat our last story of the night comes to us
[01:58:40] [SPEAKER_00]: from sarah and sarah's story is called a disagreeable sighting sarah says hi nick i've been enjoying
[01:58:48] [SPEAKER_00]: your podcast from bristol in england where i live and it is really helping me get through
[01:58:53] [SPEAKER_00]: lockdown and hearing about other people's experiences i have had many experiences myself
[01:58:59] [SPEAKER_00]: especially from when i used to run ghost hunting events at haunted buildings in the past however
[01:59:04] [SPEAKER_00]: the oddest experience that i've had came at a time when i really wasn't expecting it i used to help
[01:59:10] [SPEAKER_00]: out at a weekly club called rainbows for young girls which took place in a local church one
[01:59:16] [SPEAKER_00]: evening after the session had ended and the girls had been collected by their parents myself
[01:59:21] [SPEAKER_00]: and the lady who ran the group were outside of the main church entrance standing on the pavement
[01:59:26] [SPEAKER_00]: and talking it was 7 30 p.m but it was in the winter so it was dark however we were on a small
[01:59:32] [SPEAKER_00]: residential street standing directly beneath a street lamp we were talking about how the night
[01:59:38] [SPEAKER_00]: had gone and what we planned to do the following week as we did every week as we were talking on
[01:59:44] [SPEAKER_00]: the now empty street a lady came towards us she looked to be in her 60s with shoulder length
[01:59:49] [SPEAKER_00]: gray hair and didn't look at us as she came towards us her eyes were cast down towards the floor
[01:59:56] [SPEAKER_00]: she was on the same pavement as us and we were blocking her path so we moved closer together
[02:00:02] [SPEAKER_00]: to make room and she walked behind my friend the lamp light showed her clearly she was the only
[02:00:08] [SPEAKER_00]: person we had seen and was so close to us that we couldn't ignore her so both of us
[02:00:13] [SPEAKER_00]: watched her as she passed it was only when instead of continuing along the street she
[02:00:19] [SPEAKER_00]: turned and walked into the church driveway that we stopped talking and turned around and we wondered
[02:00:24] [SPEAKER_00]: if she had turned up late and was looking for one of the girls who had gone home she walked
[02:00:29] [SPEAKER_00]: purposefully towards the church but not through the main door entrance that we had exited from
[02:00:34] [SPEAKER_00]: she went to the side of the building there is nothing there except the side of the church
[02:00:38] [SPEAKER_00]: and a seven foot wall as we watched she just disappeared into the darkness of the church
[02:00:44] [SPEAKER_00]: wall no more than 10 feet away from us completely shocked we walked over to where she had disappeared
[02:00:50] [SPEAKER_00]: and there was of course nothing there she had just disappeared into the wall
[02:00:56] [SPEAKER_00]: the odd thing was that when we talked about it after and six years on we still argue over it
[02:01:03] [SPEAKER_00]: I saw an old lady with gray hair and a quite jolly stern face but my friend is equally insistent
[02:01:09] [SPEAKER_00]: that she saw a young girl in her 20s with blonde hair we weren't out looking for ghosts and we
[02:01:15] [SPEAKER_00]: were in such a mundane setting for something so extraordinary to happen that I tried to avoid the
[02:01:20] [SPEAKER_00]: area I can cope with the fact that we saw a ghost but the fact that we both saw something different
[02:01:26] [SPEAKER_00]: is something I can't understand and still leaves me shaken to this day our next story of the
[02:01:35] [SPEAKER_00]: night comes to us from Sarah Marie and Sarah Marie's story is called levitating astronaut entity
[02:01:42] [SPEAKER_00]: Sarah Marie says hi nick I've spent the last three weeks plowing all the episodes and I have to say
[02:01:49] [SPEAKER_00]: I love this podcast thank you for creating a space for all us paranormal believers to share our stories
[02:01:56] [SPEAKER_00]: I personally prefer the longer stories featured and therefore I am not going to apologize in
[02:02:02] [SPEAKER_00]: advance for my lengthy feature so I live in Sweden and I grew up in an arctic town
[02:02:08] [SPEAKER_00]: located well above the polar circle the small town of karuna is widely known across Europe as
[02:02:14] [SPEAKER_00]: a space town as we host the swedish space corporation and we have a space base located
[02:02:20] [SPEAKER_00]: just outside of town we are also known for our ice hotel and when I was a child our city hosted
[02:02:27] [SPEAKER_00]: an event called the snow festival where artists from all over the world came and carved out
[02:02:33] [SPEAKER_00]: beautiful sculptures in large blocks of snow and ice in the local park it's in this park that my
[02:02:40] [SPEAKER_00]: strange encounter took place and I believe it might be connected to the fact that our city has a
[02:02:45] [SPEAKER_00]: relationship to space I am curious to find out if you or your listeners share my belief
[02:02:52] [SPEAKER_00]: as I said before this took place in our local snow sculpture park I was a small child maybe
[02:02:58] [SPEAKER_00]: around six or seven when this took place me and my friend were playing around the sculptures
[02:03:04] [SPEAKER_00]: we were the only ones there at the time being a small town it was not unusual for little children
[02:03:09] [SPEAKER_00]: to roam around without parental supervision as we were playing I suddenly got this strange
[02:03:16] [SPEAKER_00]: feeling that I was being watched like something in the atmosphere shifted in the air around us
[02:03:21] [SPEAKER_00]: felt dense and clouded by energy I can't describe I was just about to call out to my
[02:03:26] [SPEAKER_00]: friend that I felt like something was wrong when I saw something move in the corner of my eye
[02:03:32] [SPEAKER_00]: I then turned around and I saw something that I have never seen before peeping out from behind
[02:03:39] [SPEAKER_00]: a big block of ice were these two small creatures at first I could only see their heads but as I
[02:03:46] [SPEAKER_00]: stood there in awe paralyzed not by fear but more like in wonder they both came out from
[02:03:51] [SPEAKER_00]: behind the sculpture and stood only a few feet in front of me they were two small creatures
[02:03:57] [SPEAKER_00]: that resembled astronauts I say astronauts because they both had big rounded helmets
[02:04:03] [SPEAKER_00]: that were slightly larger than the rest of their bodies and the front of their helmets
[02:04:07] [SPEAKER_00]: were jet black I could not see any facial features the rest of their body was dressed
[02:04:13] [SPEAKER_00]: in a white suit that very much resembled an astronaut suit but they were small like
[02:04:18] [SPEAKER_00]: a child maybe like a five or six year old in height they just stood there staring at us from
[02:04:24] [SPEAKER_00]: behind their jet black helmets and although I couldn't see their eyes I could definitely
[02:04:29] [SPEAKER_00]: feel them staring at us and up to this point my friend had not yet seen them I turned around
[02:04:35] [SPEAKER_00]: again to tell her that she needed to see this and when she did something really strange happened
[02:04:41] [SPEAKER_00]: up until this point it might have just been two kids in costumes playing in the park
[02:04:46] [SPEAKER_00]: but when my friend saw them she just screamed at me to run so we did we ran to another sculpture
[02:04:53] [SPEAKER_00]: to hide from them and when we looked around to see if we had lost them we saw them reappear again
[02:04:59] [SPEAKER_00]: this time moving towards us however they were not walking they were just moving closer to us
[02:05:05] [SPEAKER_00]: in a slow motion movement without lifting their feet this really freaked us out I had a very
[02:05:10] [SPEAKER_00]: strong feeling that they were curious slightly observing us in the distance we ran as fast as
[02:05:17] [SPEAKER_00]: our legs would carry us and once across the street I turned around once more to see if they had
[02:05:22] [SPEAKER_00]: followed us and they had but only to the edge of the park where they just stood still and looked
[02:05:27] [SPEAKER_00]: at us silently dead still everything about them was so odd the way that we could feel them
[02:05:34] [SPEAKER_00]: stare the way they moved and the fact that they just chased us around the park I was so
[02:05:39] [SPEAKER_00]: scared I ran into a cafe and asked to borrow the phone to call my mother to come pick us up
[02:05:45] [SPEAKER_00]: what was this of course my mother did not know how to react to me being so scared to have seen
[02:05:52] [SPEAKER_00]: astronauts in the park but the way their feet never touched the ground scared me for life
[02:05:58] [SPEAKER_00]: I know what we saw and it was not from this world many years later as an adult I had an
[02:06:04] [SPEAKER_00]: intense UFO encounter in the same city and I'll share that story in the future thank you for
[02:06:11] [SPEAKER_00]: reading this and keep up the good work and thank you again for creating this platform for all us
[02:06:16] [SPEAKER_00]: experiencers to share our stories I truly believe there is much more out there than what meets the
[02:06:22] [SPEAKER_00]: eye if anyone has ever seen anything like this I would love to hear from them kind regards
[02:06:30] [SPEAKER_00]: Sarah Marie our next story of the night comes to us from Kyle and Kyle's story is called
[02:06:39] [SPEAKER_00]: Medjugorje Experience Kyle says hello I live in the state of Iowa I recently discovered your
[02:06:47] [SPEAKER_00]: podcast on Pandora and I love listening to it as I work my overnight retail stocking job
[02:06:53] [SPEAKER_00]: I actually just finished your episode 25 titled The Devil Upstairs and it reminded me
[02:06:59] [SPEAKER_00]: of an experience my family has had a long time ago my mother's side of my family has always been
[02:07:04] [SPEAKER_00]: very religious almost to a fault sometimes at the time I was about nine years old and my great
[02:07:10] [SPEAKER_00]: grandmother had paid for my grandmother my mom and I to go on a religious retreat to Medjugorje
[02:07:17] [SPEAKER_00]: for around a week a few things actually went on to happen here that we weren't able to explain
[02:07:23] [SPEAKER_00]: first we had started a tour that would lead us to apparition hill a spot where the virgin
[02:07:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Mary supposedly appeared back in the 80s I'm not one to believe in most religious things but upon
[02:07:35] [SPEAKER_00]: arriving at apparition hill my grandma took a few pictures of the surrounding area and after
[02:07:40] [SPEAKER_00]: we had had the film developed we noticed in one of the pictures specifically a picture taken of
[02:07:45] [SPEAKER_00]: the queen of peace statue it had something very strange in it in the picture the statue or
[02:07:51] [SPEAKER_00]: surroundings were barely visible and were instead replaced with a bright white ball of light covering
[02:07:57] [SPEAKER_00]: the upper half of the statue with streams of rainbow light emanating from the ball of light
[02:08:03] [SPEAKER_00]: to make it even more surprising if you look carefully the ball of light has features resembling
[02:08:08] [SPEAKER_00]: a woman's face I do not have a digital copy of this picture to send you at this time as the
[02:08:14] [SPEAKER_00]: picture was taken on a disposable camera but I will try to send you the image once I get
[02:08:19] [SPEAKER_00]: a scanned copy from my grandmother herself as the picture is framed and hung over her television
[02:08:25] [SPEAKER_00]: the other thing that happened was during the mass that we attended before we left
[02:08:31] [SPEAKER_00]: a lot of people have reported strange things happening to them during the masses
[02:08:35] [SPEAKER_00]: such as hearing voices and feeling a hand touch them or stuff like that
[02:08:40] [SPEAKER_00]: before mass began my grandmother had been praying the rosary as she would normally do
[02:08:46] [SPEAKER_00]: just before she had finished we noticed her suddenly jump up
[02:08:50] [SPEAKER_00]: gasp and start weeping as we rushed over to see what had happened she opened her hands to show us
[02:08:56] [SPEAKER_00]: her rosary what had once been a rosary made of oak wood beads and string was now a rosary
[02:09:03] [SPEAKER_00]: recovered in gold not solid gold but a thin gold film that scratched off with your fingernail
[02:09:10] [SPEAKER_00]: we showed it to the priest after mass and he said that this has happened before to people who
[02:09:16] [SPEAKER_00]: pray the rosary in the church and that it never happens when the rosary is being looked at
[02:09:20] [SPEAKER_00]: and my grandmother had held it in her hands while looking up at the cross
[02:09:24] [SPEAKER_00]: so nobody had been looking at it even 15 years later I still don't know what to make of this
[02:09:32] [SPEAKER_00]: I know it sounds absurd and unbelievable but I can promise you that this actually happened
[02:09:39] [SPEAKER_00]: thank you for reading this and keep up the amazing podcast
[02:09:46] [SPEAKER_00]: our next listener story comes to us from Tom and Tom's story is called ghost horses
[02:09:52] [SPEAKER_00]: Tom says hi Nick I've been listening for about a year now and thought I would tell
[02:09:57] [SPEAKER_00]: you about a few experiences I've had with the paranormal the one I want to tell you about
[02:10:02] [SPEAKER_00]: today happened when I holidayed in Launcheston Cornwall England back in 2018 we stayed at
[02:10:09] [SPEAKER_00]: a pub slash hotel called the Jamaica Inn which was famous for smuggling on the second night I was
[02:10:16] [SPEAKER_00]: woken up at around 2 30 am with the sound of hooves outside on the stones in the big seating area
[02:10:22] [SPEAKER_00]: outside of our room and I thought who in their right mind was traveling by horse at this time of
[02:10:28] [SPEAKER_00]: night so I got out of bed went to the window to tell them to be quiet and there was no one
[02:10:34] [SPEAKER_00]: nothing but the sound was continuing which I thought was weird so I thought I'd go and investigate
[02:10:40] [SPEAKER_00]: plus I smoked at the time so I went outside and had one while walking down the corridor I could hear
[02:10:47] [SPEAKER_00]: chatting and laughing coming from the pub section of the building so I looked through the glass
[02:10:52] [SPEAKER_00]: window in the door which was locked it was pitch black no one was in there but it sounded
[02:10:58] [SPEAKER_00]: like a Saturday night I continued outside and I could now hear the chanting in busyness but no
[02:11:04] [SPEAKER_00]: one was around and I could hear horses breathing as if they were right next to me and this was going
[02:11:09] [SPEAKER_00]: on for around 15 minutes and didn't stop at all and I finally returned to my room the noises
[02:11:16] [SPEAKER_00]: continued outside and the pub was now silent as was the corridor when I returned to my room
[02:11:23] [SPEAKER_00]: I had the feeling of my stomach falling to the floor and something wasn't right
[02:11:27] [SPEAKER_00]: and when I walked into my room I saw a dark green figure standing at my side of my bed
[02:11:33] [SPEAKER_00]: staring at my fiancee in bed he wore a dark green cloak and was wearing a tricorn hat
[02:11:40] [SPEAKER_00]: like Jack Sparrow's hat he then looked up at me with an angry disposition and then walked
[02:11:46] [SPEAKER_00]: through the wall I can safely say that I didn't get any sleep that night with that
[02:11:51] [SPEAKER_00]: experience and with the noise continuing outside in the morning before breakfast I went outside to
[02:11:58] [SPEAKER_00]: have another cigarette and noticed in the morning light that the stones in the seating area weren't
[02:12:03] [SPEAKER_00]: there it was cobbled so when I finished I asked a member of the staff and she told me that the
[02:12:09] [SPEAKER_00]: front area was stoned before the recent cobbles were added and the trading was done in that
[02:12:14] [SPEAKER_00]: area back when the inn was used for smuggling and there was a highwayman that lived in the
[02:12:20] [SPEAKER_00]: area who stole items apparently he wore a green cloak and a tricorn hat and being that I never
[02:12:27] [SPEAKER_00]: asked about the highwayman I believe it wasn't in my head and that it had happened I then went to
[02:12:34] [SPEAKER_00]: join my mom stepdad and fiancee for breakfast in which my stepdad asked if anyone had heard
[02:12:40] [SPEAKER_00]: horses the previous night we chatted about it and laughed it off but the strange happenings of
[02:12:46] [SPEAKER_00]: that night still go through my head thank you for having a platform so that we can share our stories
[02:12:53] [SPEAKER_00]: I have many more if you'd like to hear them thanks again tom our next story of the night
[02:13:03] [SPEAKER_00]: comes to us from maddie and maddie's story is called mystery rock maddie says my family
[02:13:11] [SPEAKER_00]: owns a 400 acre farm that runs along a major river as a child my cousins and I would
[02:13:17] [SPEAKER_00]: explore this vast landmass finding new paths and we would go on general adventures one day we
[02:13:23] [SPEAKER_00]: came across this massive rock split down the center the crack was wide enough to walk through
[02:13:29] [SPEAKER_00]: and on many occasions we did the split ended up being a shortcut from the main trail to the
[02:13:34] [SPEAKER_00]: river without the shortcut it was about a three mile walk and with the shortcut maybe a three
[02:13:40] [SPEAKER_00]: minute walk we never questioned this as children or even as teenagers as life went on almost all of
[02:13:47] [SPEAKER_00]: us had stopped going to the farm and we were just living our lives recently one of my cousins went
[02:13:53] [SPEAKER_00]: to the farm to spend time there with his kids he decided to show them the shortcut to the river
[02:13:58] [SPEAKER_00]: and to his surprise the rock was gone I don't mean gone as in he was looking in the wrong
[02:14:04] [SPEAKER_00]: place I mean gone and it left a clearing with its disappearance he tells all of us this recently at a
[02:14:11] [SPEAKER_00]: zoom family reunion and we were all shocked as we're talking and explaining everything to our parents
[02:14:17] [SPEAKER_00]: aunts and uncles they point out to us how the shortcut doesn't really make any sense for the
[02:14:22] [SPEAKER_00]: location or time as it is miles from the river and there is no way it took us right to it
[02:14:27] [SPEAKER_00]: but it 1000% did and we all know that it did it was then that we all realized that they were
[02:14:34] [SPEAKER_00]: right it doesn't make any sense but it did happen none of us have any idea what exactly we experienced
[02:14:40] [SPEAKER_00]: as children but I know with absolute certainty that that rock existed and that it got us to the
[02:14:46] [SPEAKER_00]: river in record time thank you for sharing and I love your podcast today's first story comes to
[02:14:56] [SPEAKER_00]: us from Aaron and Aaron says when I was about six I grew up on eight acres of land that
[02:15:03] [SPEAKER_00]: was previously a Christmas tree farm I had an active imagination being that I played alone
[02:15:09] [SPEAKER_00]: often outside finding things to do that were six-year-old fun finding bugs climbing trees
[02:15:16] [SPEAKER_00]: and trying to build forts I remember falling asleep and dreaming about my farm cat sitting
[02:15:22] [SPEAKER_00]: on the railing of the porch and when we pulled up and walked up the stairs it jumped off to
[02:15:27] [SPEAKER_00]: hiss at me and my mom it felt so realistic that I was scared that something was wrong I couldn't
[02:15:33] [SPEAKER_00]: explain what but it just was so coming back from grocery shopping after being out I saw my cat
[02:15:40] [SPEAKER_00]: in the exact same spot as it was in the dream I was walking up the steps and I had the same
[02:15:46] [SPEAKER_00]: feeling in the pit of my stomach that it would do something I took a step back as it jumped down
[02:15:51] [SPEAKER_00]: and hissed directly in front of my mom and then went about its way waiting for what goodies
[02:15:57] [SPEAKER_00]: were in the grocery bags I remember feeling such fear that I had just dreamt the exact same thing
[02:16:03] [SPEAKER_00]: the previous night and I didn't want that to ever happen again since then I've had some dreams of
[02:16:09] [SPEAKER_00]: someone who was close to me and when asking if he or his family are okay there has always been
[02:16:15] [SPEAKER_00]: something happening in his life his father became ill and suddenly passed and his mom was having
[02:16:21] [SPEAKER_00]: medical issues and he himself has had issues here and there that said I usually have dreams about him
[02:16:28] [SPEAKER_00]: and I know that something is going on I can't say that I have abilities but I can say that those
[02:16:35] [SPEAKER_00]: close to me I always seem to have dreams about and there is almost always something going on in
[02:16:40] [SPEAKER_00]: some way maybe there is something carried over from when I was younger that doesn't allow me to
[02:16:46] [SPEAKER_00]: be frightened but just has that sense this next story is also from Aaron and Aaron calls it
[02:16:53] [SPEAKER_00]: my angel and Aaron says I had become pregnant at 35 with my first child it was unexpected and
[02:17:01] [SPEAKER_00]: unplanned and I found out about it two months into the pregnancy before the second trimester we
[02:17:07] [SPEAKER_00]: picked names when we went about finding out the gender at the doctor's office we found
[02:17:11] [SPEAKER_00]: out that we were having a boy and we said that's Riley about five minutes into the appointment the
[02:17:18] [SPEAKER_00]: nurse said I need to go and ask the doctor something and ten minutes later we found out that Riley wasn't
[02:17:24] [SPEAKER_00]: going to make it if he was born due to his skull not forming correctly with that being said there
[02:17:31] [SPEAKER_00]: was a procedure following the next day and before going in I said I love you Riley and I'm so
[02:17:37] [SPEAKER_00]: sorry when I came out and we were on our way home my other half said that he felt and heard Riley speaking
[02:17:45] [SPEAKER_00]: to him he said he knew it was him and he heard Riley say I understand what happened and it's okay
[02:17:52] [SPEAKER_00]: when we got home I was sitting at the kitchen table and then my other half said
[02:17:56] [SPEAKER_00]: he says it's okay mommy I love you I've spent a long time with you mommy it's your turn daddy
[02:18:02] [SPEAKER_00]: my other half said that it felt like a warmth was next to him and he said that over the next week
[02:18:08] [SPEAKER_00]: when he was stressed at work he could feel Riley next to him for two years we tried to have another
[02:18:15] [SPEAKER_00]: child and we lost another early on but we then had a premature but now healthy boy
[02:18:22] [SPEAKER_00]: when we had him two months early before going in to have him I whispered please let it be okay
[02:18:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Riley if anything let your brother be okay now my healthy and happy four-year-old is here
[02:18:35] [SPEAKER_00]: and for about two years his electronic toys would go off for no reason believe me we
[02:18:41] [SPEAKER_00]: kept thinking it was the batteries or something making them go off but we realized it's probably
[02:18:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Riley so we kept saying hi to him the noises stopped after two years for some unknown reason
[02:18:52] [SPEAKER_00]: however I almost feel like his spirit lives on in our son he's full of love and he humbles us
[02:18:58] [SPEAKER_00]: he keeps us going and always is saying I love you thanks for reading and I love your podcast
[02:19:07] [SPEAKER_00]: Erin our next story comes to us from Tom and Tom's story is called help from my family
[02:19:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Tom's story may be a little dark for some listeners so please be warned
[02:19:21] [SPEAKER_00]: Tom says hi Nick it's been a while but I'm still tuning into the podcast twice a week
[02:19:28] [SPEAKER_00]: this experience is extremely dark and I would understand if you weren't to share it because
[02:19:33] [SPEAKER_00]: some might feel uncomfortable listening to it albeit this is something I haven't told anyone
[02:19:38] [SPEAKER_00]: and hadn't planned to until I heard a recent episode about a spirit stopping a suicide attempt
[02:19:45] [SPEAKER_00]: about 11 years ago I was suffering with depression I didn't know it at the time but I was in a really
[02:19:51] [SPEAKER_00]: bad way I was lying to friends and family to cover up how bad I was looking back I must have done a
[02:19:57] [SPEAKER_00]: pretty good job because I was bad for a while and my behavior was unrecognizable compared to the
[02:20:03] [SPEAKER_00]: person that I am now anyway one day I decided I had had enough and attempted to take my own
[02:20:10] [SPEAKER_00]: life I left my house and after taking some pills I had walked to the local fields I didn't know what
[02:20:16] [SPEAKER_00]: the pills would do but I knew that I wanted out of my deep depression while walking I decided
[02:20:23] [SPEAKER_00]: that the pills weren't enough and I ventured deeper into the trees to hang myself again I
[02:20:29] [SPEAKER_00]: am sorry this is so dark but it is hand in heart the truth after a while I did exactly
[02:20:36] [SPEAKER_00]: as I planned well as I'm here writing this you can see it wasn't a success thankfully
[02:20:43] [SPEAKER_00]: I awoke sitting against a tree stump confused and completely broken you see during my ordeal
[02:20:49] [SPEAKER_00]: I blacked out but when I woke up I recalled having two men bustling around me talking to
[02:20:55] [SPEAKER_00]: each other and working out how to get me down from the tree literally lifting me and
[02:21:00] [SPEAKER_00]: maneuvering me to the ground it was my late father and uncle I knew it as clear as I have
[02:21:06] [SPEAKER_00]: known anything before in my life this sounds absolutely mad doesn't it but it happened Nick
[02:21:13] [SPEAKER_00]: I sat there for hours thinking of how I would rebuild my life knowing I wasn't leaving just
[02:21:18] [SPEAKER_00]: yet during those hours I could see in the distance around 30 to 40 meters away a slight
[02:21:24] [SPEAKER_00]: figure that had a white glow around it it was my late grandfather again I knew it without any
[02:21:30] [SPEAKER_00]: doubt he just stood there looking over at me he was always my father figure after I lost my dad
[02:21:37] [SPEAKER_00]: my grandfather was a great great man he had a soothing calming presence in life and he did
[02:21:43] [SPEAKER_00]: that day too eventually I made my way home to face my family and I told them about my
[02:21:49] [SPEAKER_00]: depression and I got help although this is a very dark email I can thankfully say I have gone on to
[02:21:56] [SPEAKER_00]: have a beautiful young family and my mental health is okay now I do have dips but I can recognize this
[02:22:02] [SPEAKER_00]: and deal with it much better now thank you Nick I haven't ever told anyone this story
[02:22:07] [SPEAKER_00]: because quite frankly no one would ever believe me or want to hear the detail again I appreciate
[02:22:14] [SPEAKER_00]: that this is pretty strong stuff keep up the great work mate Tom today's first story comes to us from
[02:22:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Kevin and Kevin's story is called ghost Kevin says hi Nick greetings from Montreal I was introduced
[02:22:35] [SPEAKER_00]: to your podcast by a friend about a month ago and like so many others I've begun binging it
[02:22:41] [SPEAKER_00]: I'd like to share with you the craziest paranormal experience that I've had
[02:22:46] [SPEAKER_00]: I came to Montreal for university but I am originally from Kunming China located in
[02:22:51] [SPEAKER_00]: the foothills of the Himalayas Chinese people have an interesting relationship
[02:22:56] [SPEAKER_00]: with the paranormal officially the communist government condemns any depiction or belief
[02:23:01] [SPEAKER_00]: in spirits or the supernatural however millennia of ancestor worship and magic is not so easily
[02:23:08] [SPEAKER_00]: undone this has resulted in some rather comical expressions of spirituality such as the burning
[02:23:14] [SPEAKER_00]: of paper ferrari's for the ancestors to drive in the afterlife by and large the folk religions
[02:23:21] [SPEAKER_00]: of China have devolved into random superstitions designed to guarantee better luck or fortune
[02:23:27] [SPEAKER_00]: for instance not living on the fourth floor or not sticking your chopsticks straight down
[02:23:32] [SPEAKER_00]: into your rice I regard it all mostly as harmless fun but an experience me and my family had when I
[02:23:39] [SPEAKER_00]: was around 15 has taught me just how careful one needs to be when dealing with the paranormal
[02:23:46] [SPEAKER_00]: my mother's younger sister had always been fascinated by the supernatural I remember as a
[02:23:51] [SPEAKER_00]: child her always reading various books about magic and taking us to watch scary movies when
[02:23:56] [SPEAKER_00]: the other adults weren't around she had a circle of friends who were likewise interested
[02:24:01] [SPEAKER_00]: in spirituality and they often went to temples and local shamans together to have their fortune
[02:24:07] [SPEAKER_00]: told or to receive blessings she loved talking to anyone about her recent spiritual adventures
[02:24:13] [SPEAKER_00]: even as kids and I honestly loved listening to them she was a fun lively person and a great
[02:24:19] [SPEAKER_00]: storyteller one day she told us about her decision to get a spirit charm she explained that it
[02:24:25] [SPEAKER_00]: was a piece of jewelry worn around the neck containing the ashes or bones of a person
[02:24:31] [SPEAKER_00]: the charms came into main flavors one containing big spirits which had the ashes of Tibetan
[02:24:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Buddhist monks in them and ones containing small spirits which had ashes from unclaimed bodies
[02:24:44] [SPEAKER_00]: usually homeless people orphans or old people with no family inside of them the big spirits
[02:24:51] [SPEAKER_00]: were thought to protect you and provide you a set amount of good luck however since the
[02:24:56] [SPEAKER_00]: ashes of a single monk were often used to make hundreds of these charms the effect was said to
[02:25:02] [SPEAKER_00]: be a little diluted in contrast the small spirits were supposed to be souls of the unfortunate who
[02:25:08] [SPEAKER_00]: are lacking in good karma hence why they had a bad life by doing good deeds and living in a
[02:25:15] [SPEAKER_00]: righteous life you can donate a bit of your good karma to your small spirit and as it learns
[02:25:20] [SPEAKER_00]: to be good it will bless you and those around you since it is your exclusive guardian spirit
[02:25:26] [SPEAKER_00]: the small spirit is thought to have the potential to endow you with vast good fortune if it becomes good
[02:25:34] [SPEAKER_00]: not one to shy away from a challenge my aunt had applied to receive a small spirit
[02:25:38] [SPEAKER_00]: I remember even then feeling creeped out by the idea of having a complete stranger's ashes
[02:25:44] [SPEAKER_00]: around your neck about a week later we went to visit her and she was excited to show us
[02:25:50] [SPEAKER_00]: her new spirit charm it was a beautiful jade pendant with a small divot carved in the middle
[02:25:55] [SPEAKER_00]: the divot had what appeared to be a round glass bead containing a dusty gray center
[02:26:01] [SPEAKER_00]: she said that she had been presented with several pendants and had chosen this one because
[02:26:06] [SPEAKER_00]: she felt its spirit most desperately needed her I think it's an orphan she said week by week
[02:26:13] [SPEAKER_00]: I began noticing how my aunt became thinner and paler her apartment seemed colder and darker
[02:26:18] [SPEAKER_00]: each time we visited she stopped talking to the kids about her spiritual experiences
[02:26:23] [SPEAKER_00]: but we'd overhear her talking to the other adults about suffering from insomnia
[02:26:27] [SPEAKER_00]: and having nightmares all the time they suggested that her involvement with the paranormal was
[02:26:33] [SPEAKER_00]: causing her to think too much about ghosts and giving her nightmares that night we all slept
[02:26:38] [SPEAKER_00]: over at my aunt's place my parents never said why but I think it's because they thought it would
[02:26:44] [SPEAKER_00]: make my aunt feel better if we all stayed my cousin had a bunk bed despite being an only child
[02:26:50] [SPEAKER_00]: so my sister slept with her on top while I took the bottom bunk in the middle of the night I
[02:26:55] [SPEAKER_00]: experienced sleep paralysis and saw what looked like a dark figure next to our bed it wasn't
[02:27:01] [SPEAKER_00]: the first time I had experienced sleep paralysis so I did what I normally did which was screw
[02:27:06] [SPEAKER_00]: my eyes shut tell myself it wasn't real and wait to fall asleep again the next morning my cousin
[02:27:13] [SPEAKER_00]: told us about a dream she had where a man with big scary eyes was staring at us while we slept no way
[02:27:19] [SPEAKER_00]: I exclaimed jumping out of bed to look at them I saw a figure standing next to the bed too
[02:27:24] [SPEAKER_00]: my sister said she didn't see anything but admitted to having trouble sleeping
[02:27:28] [SPEAKER_00]: because she felt creeped out one by one people in my family began talking about
[02:27:34] [SPEAKER_00]: seeing ghosts or feeling sick whenever they went to visit my aunt even my hyper-communist
[02:27:40] [SPEAKER_00]: atheist grandfather said that he couldn't sleep because he kept hearing what sounded like someone
[02:27:45] [SPEAKER_00]: pacing around the living room all night when there was nobody there my aunt began putting
[02:27:51] [SPEAKER_00]: up Buddhist charms and idols around her apartment which honestly just made it feel creepier
[02:27:56] [SPEAKER_00]: the family begged her to stop partaking in magic is it was clearly harming her mental and
[02:28:01] [SPEAKER_00]: physical health finally we convinced her to get rid of the charm so she went back to the temple
[02:28:06] [SPEAKER_00]: where she had first received it she was told that severing the connection with a small ghost
[02:28:12] [SPEAKER_00]: was risky business and that it might cause her harm in revenge so to counter this she
[02:28:18] [SPEAKER_00]: bought some more charms and blessed them to protect herself and her family the week after
[02:28:23] [SPEAKER_00]: getting rid of the charm she said she was feeling better I did feel like a weight was
[02:28:28] [SPEAKER_00]: lifted off of her and her apartment however just three days after that visit my cousin came home
[02:28:34] [SPEAKER_00]: with a friend of hers let's call him Lee and the unthinkable happened Lee's parents were also
[02:28:40] [SPEAKER_00]: friends of my aunt and they worked late most days so Lee would stay at my aunt's house until his
[02:28:46] [SPEAKER_00]: parents could pick him up in the evening that day he came back from school complaining about
[02:28:51] [SPEAKER_00]: a headache and he wanted to lie down my aunt let him nap on the couch while she went to watch
[02:28:56] [SPEAKER_00]: TV my cousin then came to alert her about an hour later saying that Lee wouldn't wake up
[02:29:03] [SPEAKER_00]: he had died there on the couch I didn't learn about all of this until about a week later since in
[02:29:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Chinese culture it's seen as bad to openly discuss death my aunt her husband and their
[02:29:16] [SPEAKER_00]: daughter my cousin came to stay with us since my aunt couldn't bear to be in her own house
[02:29:21] [SPEAKER_00]: anymore I'm quite certain that my aunt didn't sleep for about three days after first arriving
[02:29:27] [SPEAKER_00]: I often woke up to hear her crying and my uncle trying to comfort her it's my fault it's all my
[02:29:33] [SPEAKER_00]: fault she'd often say between sobs Lee's parents declined to have an autopsy performed on
[02:29:40] [SPEAKER_00]: their son so the cause of death was never conclusively determined but the doctors suspected
[02:29:45] [SPEAKER_00]: an aneurysm my aunt was never the same after that she was not as fun or energetic and she never
[02:29:52] [SPEAKER_00]: set foot in that apartment again she eventually rented it out to some family friends who left
[02:29:58] [SPEAKER_00]: after a couple of months because they kept having trouble sleeping and saw a young man with spiky
[02:30:03] [SPEAKER_00]: hair walk into the living room and then suddenly disappear several times my aunt had
[02:30:10] [SPEAKER_00]: suggested getting an exorcism done on the apartment but the family was against it
[02:30:14] [SPEAKER_00]: since we felt that her dabbling with magic is what caused these problems in the first place
[02:30:20] [SPEAKER_00]: she eventually sold the place and we washed our hands of the whole thing I don't know if the new
[02:30:25] [SPEAKER_00]: owners ever had any problems but to my knowledge they never tried to contact us after the sale
[02:30:31] [SPEAKER_00]: the paranormal is extremely fascinating but I believe it can be extremely dangerous
[02:30:36] [SPEAKER_00]: and as someone who is immersed in these things please stay safe nick and thank you so much
[02:30:42] [SPEAKER_00]: for reading this Kevin our next story comes to us from s and s's story is called phasing
[02:30:53] [SPEAKER_00]: shifting creature s says hey nick I haven't been listening to your podcast long because i'm new
[02:31:00] [SPEAKER_00]: to the world of smartphones which I guess makes me a little bit of a cryptid myself but this
[02:31:06] [SPEAKER_00]: experience was one of many that has stuck with me here is a little backstory my husband and I
[02:31:13] [SPEAKER_00]: had pretty similar childhoods we both grew up rugged him in the backwoods in georgia and me on
[02:31:18] [SPEAKER_00]: the edge of the everglades we did not grow up freaking out about anything because our parents
[02:31:24] [SPEAKER_00]: taught us not to be afraid in may 2007 my husband and I were 19 and we're just finishing our
[02:31:31] [SPEAKER_00]: freshman year we were camping in the college forest which was not technically allowed and it
[02:31:37] [SPEAKER_00]: was a dark moonless overcast night but nice for may in the south it was about 11 p.m and we had
[02:31:44] [SPEAKER_00]: settled into our normal camp at 9 30 or 10 and we were spooning quietly discussing our big plans
[02:31:50] [SPEAKER_00]: to live off the grid and be homesteaders we had quieted down and I could hear my husband's breath
[02:31:56] [SPEAKER_00]: getting deeper but I've always had restlessness before sleep out of nowhere I heard what I
[02:32:03] [SPEAKER_00]: would describe as a loud snorting or growling creature furiously running towards us it sounded
[02:32:09] [SPEAKER_00]: big and I was thinking wild boar it sounded about 30 meters away at about two o'clock directionally
[02:32:15] [SPEAKER_00]: and it was heading straight for us I woke up my husband and hissed get your hatchet
[02:32:21] [SPEAKER_00]: and just when it seemed like the boar should have been on top of our site it phased I don't
[02:32:27] [SPEAKER_00]: know how else to explain it it shifted so that one second it was five meters away
[02:32:32] [SPEAKER_00]: barreling through the underbrush and then it shifted the next second it was 20 meters away
[02:32:37] [SPEAKER_00]: barreling straight towards us now from 11 o'clock directionally and in between those shifts there
[02:32:43] [SPEAKER_00]: was nothing I can imagine that if we hadn't been curled up in our shelter has too terrified to
[02:32:50] [SPEAKER_00]: move her look there would have been a flash as this thing shifted from one place and
[02:32:54] [SPEAKER_00]: direction to another instantaneously but that is just fantasy you also have to know that each
[02:33:01] [SPEAKER_00]: time it shifted it knew exactly where we were and there was no time where the creature had to
[02:33:06] [SPEAKER_00]: figure out where to run with each shift it was as if that was a section of time that was happening
[02:33:12] [SPEAKER_00]: within a larger section of time it would phase running straight towards us from the left then it
[02:33:18] [SPEAKER_00]: would shift running straight towards us from the upper right this phasing and shifting continued
[02:33:23] [SPEAKER_00]: for at least three minutes but I have to say despite everything I've been through that was the
[02:33:28] [SPEAKER_00]: most terrifying three or so minutes of my life and my husband agrees we are not ashamed to admit
[02:33:35] [SPEAKER_00]: that we were praying it was terrifying the whole time that this creature was phasing and
[02:33:40] [SPEAKER_00]: shifting its guttural sounds were getting more agitated and the sense that it was not of this
[02:33:45] [SPEAKER_00]: world was increasing to the point that we thought we were going to die of fright
[02:33:50] [SPEAKER_00]: since then our tent has been circled by coyotes and that was nothing compared to this utter terror
[02:33:57] [SPEAKER_00]: I can feel my blood pressure just thinking about it finally there was a shift where the thing actually
[02:34:03] [SPEAKER_00]: was suddenly much further away in was running in a different direction off deeper into the forest
[02:34:08] [SPEAKER_00]: up around 1030 directionally and unlike the way it came we listened as it slowly faded away
[02:34:15] [SPEAKER_00]: into the distance this was our experience it was weird terrifying and inexplicable no
[02:34:22] [SPEAKER_00]: matter how many people I've talked to I'd really like to hear your thoughts have you ever heard of
[02:34:28] [SPEAKER_00]: something like this happening s our next story of the night comes to us from Sarah and Sarah's
[02:34:37] [SPEAKER_00]: story is called woodland spirits Sarah says hi Nick I have another story for you if you'd
[02:34:44] [SPEAKER_00]: like to share it with your listeners this incident occurred in May of 2020 while one of my friends
[02:34:49] [SPEAKER_00]: and I were out biking on an abandoned railroad line and I apologize if it's a little long
[02:34:55] [SPEAKER_00]: in my last email I mentioned that I was an avid hiker a lot of places I hike to involve
[02:35:00] [SPEAKER_00]: abandoned mines buildings and old railroad beds I love history exploring abandoned places
[02:35:06] [SPEAKER_00]: and learning about them luckily my home state of west virginia is filled with such things
[02:35:12] [SPEAKER_00]: anyway I don't want to give the location for this story because I'm unsure if it's on private land
[02:35:17] [SPEAKER_00]: the last time I visited this place a few months ago there were private property signs posted that I
[02:35:22] [SPEAKER_00]: had not seen there before and I want to respect the landowners if so before I officially begin
[02:35:28] [SPEAKER_00]: the story I'd like to share a little history this particular railroad was constructed in
[02:35:34] [SPEAKER_00]: sections by various companies beginning in 1893 and going into the 1900s there are a few
[02:35:40] [SPEAKER_00]: tunnels along the way with the date on one being 1930 I believe its primary use was for logging
[02:35:47] [SPEAKER_00]: though coal mining was also prevalent in the area like many other places around it was eventually
[02:35:52] [SPEAKER_00]: abandoned the railroad was taken up and parts of the trail was designated as a rail trail
[02:35:58] [SPEAKER_00]: in 2016 we had massive statewide floods that damaged a section of this line taking out
[02:36:04] [SPEAKER_00]: part of a trestle and halting the progress of the conversion I'm unsure when it'll be finished
[02:36:09] [SPEAKER_00]: people also use a large section of the trail for a tv and four-wheel drive off-roading there isn't too
[02:36:15] [SPEAKER_00]: much to see other than some small bridges a few larger trestles some equipment and the tunnels
[02:36:21] [SPEAKER_00]: one of which is caving in from what I understand there were old homesteads on top of the mountain
[02:36:26] [SPEAKER_00]: along with small family cemeteries of those who lived in the area and the tunnel in this
[02:36:31] [SPEAKER_00]: story was named after one family that lived nearby I first found out about this trail four
[02:36:37] [SPEAKER_00]: years ago from another hiker who had posted his hike from the area seeing the abandoned tunnel
[02:36:42] [SPEAKER_00]: sparked my interest but I was afraid to go alone since it is so remote and there's no cellular
[02:36:47] [SPEAKER_00]: service in that area my friend agreed to go with me by bike to explore the area so we loaded up
[02:36:53] [SPEAKER_00]: and went we were the only ones out that day and it was on the cool side and a little rainy
[02:36:59] [SPEAKER_00]: we rode about two or so miles until we came to the tunnel this particular tunnel is a little
[02:37:04] [SPEAKER_00]: over a half mile at 3164 feet in length and leads to a beautiful trestle crossing the river
[02:37:11] [SPEAKER_00]: we hung out at the mouth of the tunnel for a bit before trying to go through as we started in
[02:37:17] [SPEAKER_00]: we didn't even make it a quarter of the way in when we saw what looked like bear scat so we
[02:37:22] [SPEAKER_00]: decided to head back out we also didn't have the best lighting and felt incredibly creeped
[02:37:26] [SPEAKER_00]: out walking inside of the tunnel once out we decided to sit on some large rocks nearby
[02:37:31] [SPEAKER_00]: and have lunch while keeping on high alert while eating we kept looking toward the other end where
[02:37:37] [SPEAKER_00]: the light is barely visible I asked her if she could see three strange figures at the other end
[02:37:43] [SPEAKER_00]: and she agreed the figures looked to be floating in a diagonal line starting at the top left and
[02:37:48] [SPEAKER_00]: descending to the bottom right it was the strangest thing they would disappear and then reappear
[02:37:54] [SPEAKER_00]: and this went on for a good length of time once we finished our lunch we stepped closer
[02:37:59] [SPEAKER_00]: to the tunnel again where she shined her headlamp into the darkness we didn't see anything until
[02:38:05] [SPEAKER_00]: something caught our attention she describes it as a light reflecting off the fur of a dark colored
[02:38:10] [SPEAKER_00]: animal it appeared to me as a transparent green streak of light it was brief but it creeped us
[02:38:16] [SPEAKER_00]: both out the point that we got up and immediately left we kept constantly checking behind us until
[02:38:22] [SPEAKER_00]: we were a good distance away from the tunnel not quite a half mile back from the tunnel
[02:38:27] [SPEAKER_00]: was a beautiful little stream that drained under the trail into the river we stopped there briefly
[02:38:32] [SPEAKER_00]: to talk about what we had seen and were looking back towards the tunnel we discussed how we felt
[02:38:37] [SPEAKER_00]: like we were being watched and followed and we kept seeing what we thought were those figures
[02:38:42] [SPEAKER_00]: floating in the trees at a distance behind us she referred to them as being woodland spirits
[02:38:48] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't really know anything about those sorts of things so I can't say for certain
[02:38:52] [SPEAKER_00]: I have tried looking up woodland spirits since the incident with no avail and I'm curious if
[02:38:57] [SPEAKER_00]: any other listeners have had a similar experience with such figures once we put some distance between
[02:39:03] [SPEAKER_00]: us and the tunnel the strange feelings eased up and we didn't see anything else strange
[02:39:08] [SPEAKER_00]: we have visited the area a few more times since the incident though each time since we have
[02:39:13] [SPEAKER_00]: been in a vehicle and drove through the tunnel we have had a couple of small strange things
[02:39:18] [SPEAKER_00]: happen in that area though nothing like that day I absolutely love the area for its beauty and history
[02:39:24] [SPEAKER_00]: but I will never visit alone and without the safety of my vehicle I attached two photos of the tunnel
[02:39:31] [SPEAKER_00]: one of the trestle and one of the river from the trestle if you wish to share
[02:39:36] [SPEAKER_00]: thank you for taking the time to read and consider my story and I hope you all continue
[02:39:41] [SPEAKER_00]: to stay safe Sarah our next story of the night comes to us from Megan and Megan's story is called
[02:39:51] [SPEAKER_00]: The Lady in White Megan says hi Nick love your podcast I wanted to share a story with you that
[02:39:58] [SPEAKER_00]: has been told to me by my mother I have her permission to share it with you when I was younger
[02:40:04] [SPEAKER_00]: maybe four or five my family all went camping in Maine I'm from Vermont so this was a common
[02:40:10] [SPEAKER_00]: place to go my uncles and aunts and cousins all went together I'll leave the name of the campground
[02:40:16] [SPEAKER_00]: out it was a very large campground the type where it would be difficult to give directions to your
[02:40:21] [SPEAKER_00]: campsite my mom took myself and my older sister to the bathrooms and while on our way my mom
[02:40:27] [SPEAKER_00]: heard a woman yelling does anyone know CPR in a panic my mother was in lna school at the time
[02:40:33] [SPEAKER_00]: so she went to help the panicked woman figuring she could help in some way she told us to
[02:40:38] [SPEAKER_00]: stay by the bathrooms and to not go anywhere and just wait when she went to help she saw this woman's
[02:40:44] [SPEAKER_00]: little son choking on something so my mom started to perform the Heimlich maneuver instead of CPR
[02:40:49] [SPEAKER_00]: on the choking boy my mother was working and working on this boy when he went unconscious
[02:40:55] [SPEAKER_00]: in her arms and she was begging anyone to help as she could not get whatever he was choking on
[02:41:00] [SPEAKER_00]: up then almost out of nowhere a woman all dressed in a long flowing white gown seemed to glide
[02:41:06] [SPEAKER_00]: over to her and the unconscious boy my mom said it was very odd because that attire is not something
[02:41:13] [SPEAKER_00]: anyone would ever wear while camping or anywhere for that matter but she didn't pay attention
[02:41:18] [SPEAKER_00]: she needed help keeping this boy alive that's when this woman reached her hand to the boy
[02:41:24] [SPEAKER_00]: and placed two fingers on his forehead and said would the power invested in me but this
[02:41:29] [SPEAKER_00]: boy stopped choking and just like that he stopped and gained consciousness my mom shocked looked up
[02:41:37] [SPEAKER_00]: and watched the woman glide into the crowd and vanish the mother of that boy had to go meet the
[02:41:43] [SPEAKER_00]: ambulance at the campground entrance because the campground was so big the ambulance could not find
[02:41:47] [SPEAKER_00]: them she went to get in her car when she slipped fell and broke her ankle the boy was okay
[02:41:54] [SPEAKER_00]: and they were staying in cabin 13 after things calmed down and the crowd dispersed my mother
[02:42:00] [SPEAKER_00]: searched and searched the campground trying to find the woman in the white gown wanting to thank her
[02:42:05] [SPEAKER_00]: and could not find her anywhere she told everyone about the woman and no one had seen her let alone
[02:42:11] [SPEAKER_00]: could find her since then my mother refuses to stay or own anything that includes the number 13
[02:42:18] [SPEAKER_00]: with any hope the little boy who has all grown up now can hear this story and know this
[02:42:22] [SPEAKER_00]: truly happened and can share an amazing story of a real life angel thanks for your show i love
[02:42:30] [SPEAKER_00]: hearing these stories megan our next story of the night comes to us from lisa and lisa's story is
[02:42:39] [SPEAKER_00]: called doppelganger lisa says hi there nick i came across your podcast at the beginning of february
[02:42:46] [SPEAKER_00]: and have been hooked on it ever since it got me thinking of a few odd experiences i've had
[02:42:51] [SPEAKER_00]: and i thought i would share one that still has me wondering up to this day
[02:42:56] [SPEAKER_00]: back in late 2019 i worked in a restaurant close to where i live it was within a busy corner
[02:43:02] [SPEAKER_00]: that had a starbucks across the street so for a full-time college student running on three
[02:43:06] [SPEAKER_00]: hours of sleep it was very convenient going into my shift one morning i arrived at work early
[02:43:12] [SPEAKER_00]: so i headed over to starbucks to buy a coffee to help me get through the shift this day was
[02:43:17] [SPEAKER_00]: a bit slow considering it was a wednesday so as i waited the barista chatted with me for a bit
[02:43:23] [SPEAKER_00]: jokingly she asked if the first drink i got earlier wasn't strong enough
[02:43:27] [SPEAKER_00]: confused i told her that this was my first time coming in today and if anything i might need
[02:43:32] [SPEAKER_00]: a second later tonight she then asked if i had a twin sister to which i answered no just a brother
[02:43:39] [SPEAKER_00]: she seemed taken aback for a moment before telling me that about a half an hour earlier
[02:43:44] [SPEAKER_00]: someone who looked exactly like me came in and she even called over her coworker who had attended to
[02:43:49] [SPEAKER_00]: the person to confirm i thought it was a little odd but i laughed it off saying it must have been
[02:43:55] [SPEAKER_00]: my long lost twin or something before i headed off and i didn't think much about it as i headed
[02:44:00] [SPEAKER_00]: into work i hadn't gone out to the dining area yet after clocking in and had just been
[02:44:05] [SPEAKER_00]: focused on taking a few sips of coffee and settling into npc mode to power through the
[02:44:11] [SPEAKER_00]: as soon as one of my co-workers walked into the employee area he had a double take when he saw me
[02:44:16] [SPEAKER_00]: my coworker told me that he was helping the server for a table with a group of people
[02:44:21] [SPEAKER_00]: and one of them looked like me they thought i was going to eat before clocking in but they
[02:44:26] [SPEAKER_00]: didn't get a chance to come over to greet me while they were taking care of their other
[02:44:29] [SPEAKER_00]: tables confused i told him i had barely just arrived and i asked where the girl had sat
[02:44:35] [SPEAKER_00]: because now i was curious although when i walked with him to peek out into the dining area
[02:44:40] [SPEAKER_00]: they had finished up and already left we asked the other worker who was busing the table who
[02:44:46] [SPEAKER_00]: also had a double take looking towards the door and then back at me they told me that the girl
[02:44:51] [SPEAKER_00]: looked exactly like me with short layered blonde hair with the roots peeking out a bit
[02:44:55] [SPEAKER_00]: i have dark brown hair but have been too lazy to get the roots touched up
[02:44:59] [SPEAKER_00]: our faces our styles and the way we sounded was similar they asked me if i had a twin as
[02:45:06] [SPEAKER_00]: well to which i answered no but now i was a little uneasy whoever this person is i missed her twice by
[02:45:13] [SPEAKER_00]: a few minutes and couldn't help but wonder if i would eventually run into her or not i told my
[02:45:18] [SPEAKER_00]: friend this and she told me about a movie that came out earlier in the year called us and it's
[02:45:23] [SPEAKER_00]: about doppelgangers and after watching it i got a little scared to say the least i haven't had
[02:45:29] [SPEAKER_00]: any more odd encounters like this since then but couldn't help but wonder if any of your
[02:45:34] [SPEAKER_00]: listeners have experienced anything similar thanks for reading and i hope you and all the
[02:45:39] [SPEAKER_00]: listeners have a safe and happy week our next story of the night comes from mary and mary's
[02:45:47] [SPEAKER_00]: story is called baseball boy mary says hello i'm a new listener to your podcast and i finally feel
[02:45:55] [SPEAKER_00]: that i have a place where i can share my experiences i have experienced paranormal events since i was
[02:46:00] [SPEAKER_00]: child but today i'm going to share one of my first experiences with you it was summertime in
[02:46:07] [SPEAKER_00]: northeastern tennessee my grandmother and i were staying a few days with our family my aunt and
[02:46:12] [SPEAKER_00]: uncle had just built a home on a beautiful piece of land overlooking a valley to our knowledge
[02:46:17] [SPEAKER_00]: no one had built a home on this property before they had a nice swimming pool that my cousin
[02:46:22] [SPEAKER_00]: and i thoroughly enjoyed throughout the day at the time i was 12 years old and my cousins were
[02:46:28] [SPEAKER_00]: six and two for privacy reasons i'm going to call the six-year-old bathe and the two-year-old
[02:46:33] [SPEAKER_00]: nicole nicole had been slipping through the gate on the porch and was making her way to the
[02:46:38] [SPEAKER_00]: swing set just beyond the pool this was a normal occurrence as we had all been outside together
[02:46:43] [SPEAKER_00]: that day nicole was a very determined child later that evening bethany decided to go for
[02:46:50] [SPEAKER_00]: a night swim this was something that they typically did together as my aunt worked
[02:46:54] [SPEAKER_00]: third shift so they stayed up late all the time it was so exciting to be outside at night like
[02:47:00] [SPEAKER_00]: that as my parents were much more strict about this all the adults and nicole were inside
[02:47:06] [SPEAKER_00]: while we had a blast swimming suddenly i saw someone running through the yard in my peripheral
[02:47:12] [SPEAKER_00]: vision i went to say nicole's name as this is who i expected had snuck back outside it was to
[02:47:18] [SPEAKER_00]: my surprise that a little boy approximately four or five years old based on his size stopped
[02:47:24] [SPEAKER_00]: and looked at me although it was only for a few seconds it felt much longer he was dressed in
[02:47:29] [SPEAKER_00]: a baseball uniform it was white with vertical black pinstripes with a cap to match as we looked at one
[02:47:35] [SPEAKER_00]: another he just vanished i panicked at this point and was frozen in fear and my grandmother was
[02:47:42] [SPEAKER_00]: the only person that believed me at the time my family still lives in this home and they
[02:47:47] [SPEAKER_00]: have experienced multiple things throughout the years it was not long after my experience
[02:47:52] [SPEAKER_00]: that beth had a friend over that felt a cold hand on the small of her back pushing her on the
[02:47:57] [SPEAKER_00]: swings of that very swing set beth said that she never told anyone about the little boy that we
[02:48:02] [SPEAKER_00]: saw due to beth being fearful her family got a dog to help her feel safer in the home this
[02:48:08] [SPEAKER_00]: dog used to growl at things that weren't there and eventually attacked my uncle unprovoked
[02:48:13] [SPEAKER_00]: one day beth also used to see a man in a hat and heard knocking on her windows my aunt
[02:48:19] [SPEAKER_00]: uncle and younger cousins have shared that they also had experiences but i don't know the details
[02:48:24] [SPEAKER_00]: of these as it is not openly discussed i did not realize until later that there is a graveyard
[02:48:30] [SPEAKER_00]: just below their home in the valley it is possible that the spirits could have been visiting them
[02:48:35] [SPEAKER_00]: beth is very skeptical of the experiences that she had as a child and as we discussed
[02:48:40] [SPEAKER_00]: them recently she brushes them off as something else i however know what i have experienced
[02:48:48] [SPEAKER_00]: thank you for taking the time to read my story and i plan to share my other experiences in a future
[02:48:53] [SPEAKER_00]: email best regards mary our next story of the night comes to us from elie an elie story is called
[02:49:05] [SPEAKER_00]: the dark shadow at the prison elie says hi nick i've been listening to your show for months
[02:49:11] [SPEAKER_00]: now and i am hooked i have a few paranormal stories to tell but i'll go ahead and tell
[02:49:16] [SPEAKER_00]: the one that is the most vivid one and the one i remember the most i work in an adult correctional
[02:49:22] [SPEAKER_00]: institution and i've worked there for 13 years it's located in texas in a town that borders
[02:49:27] [SPEAKER_00]: mexico when i started as a rookie i worked the graveyard shift for the first three years
[02:49:32] [SPEAKER_00]: and it was also when the drug cartel battles in mexico were extremely heavy so being a border
[02:49:38] [SPEAKER_00]: town we would get all the cartel members that they would extradite to the us many of
[02:49:43] [SPEAKER_00]: these cartel members were strong believers in the santa moerte or the holy death translated to
[02:49:49] [SPEAKER_00]: english some inmates would even have prison-made altars with the santa moerte sculptured out of
[02:49:55] [SPEAKER_00]: soap in them along with food items as offerings on one particular night in 2009 or 2010 i was
[02:50:02] [SPEAKER_00]: assigned to the segregation unit it's basically two hallways that run parallel to each other
[02:50:08] [SPEAKER_00]: with cells on both sides of each hallway and before entering each hallway there's a big
[02:50:12] [SPEAKER_00]: metal door around 3 a.m. that night i was with two other officers that were assigned to a housing
[02:50:19] [SPEAKER_00]: unit that was near and we were about 15 feet away from the first hallway in the segregation unit
[02:50:25] [SPEAKER_00]: we were standing in a triangle one officer had his back to the segregation unit while me and
[02:50:30] [SPEAKER_00]: the other officer were facing it as we were in the middle of a conversation i saw a really
[02:50:35] [SPEAKER_00]: dark shadow come out of the wall it crossed the hallway and went through the hallway's
[02:50:39] [SPEAKER_00]: door that leads to the first segregation hallway i immediately turned to look at the other officer
[02:50:44] [SPEAKER_00]: that was also facing the unit he then looked at me and asked me if i had also seen the dark shadow
[02:50:51] [SPEAKER_00]: i was not the only one who had seen it he had seen it too the officer with the back towards
[02:50:57] [SPEAKER_00]: the unit then turned around and asked what we were looking at but it was too late there
[02:51:02] [SPEAKER_00]: was nothing there anymore after talking about it with the officer that saw the dark shadow
[02:51:07] [SPEAKER_00]: too we think it's the santa muerte that was coming to the altars to accept the offerings
[02:51:13] [SPEAKER_00]: over the years i've also heard stories of inmates there at the segregation unit
[02:51:17] [SPEAKER_00]: that also say that they've seen the black shadow pass by their cell door thank you for
[02:51:23] [SPEAKER_00]: letting me tell my story and keep up the good work this story comes to us from julia
[02:51:31] [SPEAKER_00]: and julia's story is called skeptics stories julia says hi nick my sister and i discovered
[02:51:40] [SPEAKER_00]: your podcast while on a road trip to colorado last year and have been avid listeners ever since
[02:51:45] [SPEAKER_00]: she and i are skeptics and have never really considered ourselves believers of the paranormal
[02:51:50] [SPEAKER_00]: however we both have had some pretty interesting events happen to us that we can't easily explain
[02:51:55] [SPEAKER_00]: i've included a couple of them here i apologize for the length of this email ahead of time
[02:52:01] [SPEAKER_00]: but i think the extra details are necessary to include my first strange experience was when i was in
[02:52:07] [SPEAKER_00]: seventh grade and living in connecticut i was in washington dc with my classmates i should also
[02:52:13] [SPEAKER_00]: explain that we were on our annual school trip so we did a lot of tourist activities one activity
[02:52:19] [SPEAKER_00]: was an evening tour of colonial williamsburg in virginia the tour consisted of traveling to
[02:52:25] [SPEAKER_00]: different 18th century buildings and houses and hearing about other people's ghostly encounters
[02:52:31] [SPEAKER_00]: the tour includes walking along the dirt roads that lead to the governor's palace and all along
[02:52:35] [SPEAKER_00]: the road are 18th century houses and businesses the tour had stopped outside one big building or
[02:52:42] [SPEAKER_00]: house because this happened 17 years ago i can't really remember which building it was but i looked
[02:52:48] [SPEAKER_00]: at pictures of various tours on google and the house in my memory matches the george
[02:52:53] [SPEAKER_00]: weith house and others like it the george weith house is a two-story rectangular brick house
[02:52:59] [SPEAKER_00]: with nine windows that all have white trim a typical colonial manner anyway the tour guide and my
[02:53:06] [SPEAKER_00]: classmates were standing on the footpath about 100 yards from this house most of the class was
[02:53:11] [SPEAKER_00]: engrossed in what the tour guide was saying but my friend and i being the troublemaking
[02:53:15] [SPEAKER_00]: tweens we were had distanced ourselves from the group and we're looking around at the
[02:53:19] [SPEAKER_00]: historical dirt path road that the house sat on as we were busy goofing off and mocking
[02:53:25] [SPEAKER_00]: the tour for being silly i noticed a strange man wearing a british colonial era military uniform
[02:53:31] [SPEAKER_00]: complete with a red tailcoat and white pants tucked into his shin high boots walking towards the house
[02:53:36] [SPEAKER_00]: it's important to note that people on these tours dress up in period costumes to add to the
[02:53:42] [SPEAKER_00]: spookiness and authenticity of the tours so initially i didn't think anything of this man
[02:53:46] [SPEAKER_00]: but he was strange because he wasn't interacting with any of the tourgoers and was making a
[02:53:52] [SPEAKER_00]: beeline for the house because of that he caught my attention and i was mesmerized as i watched him
[02:53:57] [SPEAKER_00]: walk towards the house it seemed like i was the only person who had noticed him as the rest of
[02:54:02] [SPEAKER_00]: my classmates were paying attention to the tour guide i watched this man for probably 10 seconds
[02:54:07] [SPEAKER_00]: walk across the grass from about 50 yards away from me all the way to the house the
[02:54:12] [SPEAKER_00]: strangest moment came when he arrived at the house and kept walking straight through the brick
[02:54:17] [SPEAKER_00]: wall i freaked out and immediately asked my friend will call her britney if she saw what i had just seen
[02:54:24] [SPEAKER_00]: she was just as freaked out as i was and when i said did you see that she just yelled yes i double
[02:54:31] [SPEAKER_00]: checked that she saw a colonial era soldier i didn't know at the time that he was a british soldier
[02:54:36] [SPEAKER_00]: and she confirmed this by saying yes and then he walked straight into that building
[02:54:41] [SPEAKER_00]: i have had other bizarre experiences in my life that i have been able to rationally explain
[02:54:46] [SPEAKER_00]: but to this day i still can't 100% explain this experience the only plausible explanation
[02:54:53] [SPEAKER_00]: i've been able to come up with is that williamsburg uses holograms or something on its tours to show
[02:54:58] [SPEAKER_00]: fake ghosts to tourgoers to further increase the spookiness and belief that the town is haunted
[02:55:03] [SPEAKER_00]: but this happened back in 2003 which was 16 years before holograms were used for music
[02:55:09] [SPEAKER_00]: concerts and the tour was outside at night so it seems unlikely that they had the kind of
[02:55:14] [SPEAKER_00]: technology for a tour like this and that it looked so believable i tried to investigate if ghost
[02:55:20] [SPEAKER_00]: tours use holograms or something similar to trick tourgoers but i couldn't find anything maybe one
[02:55:26] [SPEAKER_00]: of your listeners knows something about this even though i am a self-described skeptic and don't
[02:55:31] [SPEAKER_00]: believe in ghosts i know what i saw and it is the most compelling evidence i have that the
[02:55:36] [SPEAKER_00]: universe is filled with unexplained phenomena my second story is from when my sister used to
[02:55:43] [SPEAKER_00]: work at a donut bakery as the head baker she has given me permission to tell this story but
[02:55:48] [SPEAKER_00]: she doesn't know that i'm submitting it now so to protect her identity i'll call her sasha when
[02:55:53] [SPEAKER_00]: sasha was 18 she worked at a donut bakery in downtown indianapolis before she went to college
[02:55:59] [SPEAKER_00]: the bakery opened at 6 a.m so she had to go into work at 2 a.m to start baking donuts so they
[02:56:04] [SPEAKER_00]: would be ready by the time the bakery opened she was the only person who worked this late shift
[02:56:09] [SPEAKER_00]: keep this in mind because it is an important detail later in the story for about a year my
[02:56:15] [SPEAKER_00]: sister would sleep in the afternoons and then wake up at 1 a.m to drive to the donut bakery from her
[02:56:20] [SPEAKER_00]: house in another town shortly after she started working at the bakery she had been alone one night
[02:56:26] [SPEAKER_00]: like usual when she heard a knock on the door like i said none of her co-workers worked at
[02:56:30] [SPEAKER_00]: night and the owners had keys so they could just come in if they wanted to and wouldn't
[02:56:35] [SPEAKER_00]: have needed to knock so she knew it wasn't one of the other employees even though it was around 4 a.m
[02:56:41] [SPEAKER_00]: and more likely early morning than the middle of the night she was scared of opening the door
[02:56:45] [SPEAKER_00]: to someone that she didn't know so she tried to ignore the knocking but the person kept knocking
[02:56:50] [SPEAKER_00]: so eventually she agreed to open the door she was relieved to find that it was just a
[02:56:55] [SPEAKER_00]: delivery truck with some supplies because the local delivery service had a lot of clients
[02:57:00] [SPEAKER_00]: and not all clients are able to receive deliveries so early they prefer to drop off at
[02:57:04] [SPEAKER_00]: the bakery first to get it out of the way but since she was a young woman working in a city
[02:57:09] [SPEAKER_00]: by herself at night she asked her bosses to let her know about deliveries ahead of time in the
[02:57:13] [SPEAKER_00]: future and they agreed things were fine for her for about the next 10 months however after
[02:57:19] [SPEAKER_00]: she had been working there for almost a year she started having nightmares every night before
[02:57:23] [SPEAKER_00]: waking up at 1 a.m these nightmares were very vivid and involved episodes of sleep paralysis
[02:57:30] [SPEAKER_00]: she would know that she was in her bed but she would think someone was in the room with
[02:57:34] [SPEAKER_00]: or she would dream that she was in the bakery for her shift like normal but wasn't alone
[02:57:39] [SPEAKER_00]: someone would be in the bakery with her even though no one else worked at that hour
[02:57:44] [SPEAKER_00]: it got to the point where she was terrified of going into the bakery for her usual shift
[02:57:48] [SPEAKER_00]: because her dreams were so frequent and realistic that she didn't feel safe in the bakery anymore
[02:57:53] [SPEAKER_00]: one night after she had been having these nightmares for several weeks
[02:57:57] [SPEAKER_00]: she was working in the doughnut bakery by herself it was around 3 a.m in the morning
[02:58:01] [SPEAKER_00]: and still dark enough to be considered the middle of the night all of a sudden she heard
[02:58:06] [SPEAKER_00]: a knock on the door even though she had never gotten a delivery at 3 a.m before she hoped it was
[02:58:11] [SPEAKER_00]: a delivery and decided to check the notice board that her bosses had made for her however she did
[02:58:16] [SPEAKER_00]: not see any deliveries scheduled for that morning it's important to note that the doughnut bakery
[02:58:21] [SPEAKER_00]: was in a converted garage so the baking and the customer areas were really one big room rather
[02:58:27] [SPEAKER_00]: than smaller separate rooms while baking the doughnuts sasha was still visible from the front door
[02:58:32] [SPEAKER_00]: so even if someone wasn't bringing a delivery they could easily see that the bakery wasn't empty
[02:58:38] [SPEAKER_00]: and sasha could see the front door from where she was making the doughnuts
[02:58:42] [SPEAKER_00]: when she realized that there was no delivery scheduled that night she peeked around the counter
[02:58:46] [SPEAKER_00]: and looked at the front door and what she saw scared her enough that she quit the doughnut
[02:58:51] [SPEAKER_00]: bakery soon thereafter the figure standing at the door asking to be led into the doughnut bakery
[02:58:57] [SPEAKER_00]: at 3 a.m was unnaturally tall and slim wore a top hat in suit and didn't have a face she was so scared
[02:59:06] [SPEAKER_00]: that she hid in the boss's tiny office for 30 minutes until she felt that it was safe to come
[02:59:10] [SPEAKER_00]: out again when she came back out the figure had gone and she did not see the figure again
[02:59:16] [SPEAKER_00]: this event terrified my sister but she didn't tell me or anyone else about it right away
[02:59:21] [SPEAKER_00]: she thought she was being foolish to be afraid of going to her job working at night and mythical
[02:59:26] [SPEAKER_00]: creatures that weren't supposed to exist however years later she told me about her
[02:59:31] [SPEAKER_00]: experience after she found out that the figure she saw matched the description of the slender man
[02:59:37] [SPEAKER_00]: we were talking about slender man perhaps in response to listening to this podcast or
[02:59:41] [SPEAKER_00]: something similar when she said oh i've seen the slender man when i told her that the slender
[02:59:47] [SPEAKER_00]: man was invented by some people on internet forums and the young girls guilty of carrying out the
[02:59:52] [SPEAKER_00]: slender man murders were tricked by these forums because slender man doesn't actually exist she
[02:59:57] [SPEAKER_00]: shrugged and said that's what i saw i reiterate that in general my sister is not a believer
[03:00:03] [SPEAKER_00]: in the paranormal she and i aren't religious and we tend to view every situation with
[03:00:08] [SPEAKER_00]: skepticism however we are superstitious and figure that we shouldn't take unnecessary chances when
[03:00:13] [SPEAKER_00]: dealing with the paranormal just in case it turns out to be real and when it comes to the slender man
[03:00:19] [SPEAKER_00]: or whatever you want to call the entity that tried to get into the bakery that night
[03:00:24] [SPEAKER_00]: my sister is 100 convinced he is real thank you for bearing with me i know my stories are
[03:00:31] [SPEAKER_00]: a bit long thank you also for sharing my stories on the podcast if you choose to do so
