[00:00:00] Encounters with extraterrestrials can be scary enough by themselves, but when they're accompanied by unexplained creatures, the word terror takes on a whole new meaning. Tonight, I'll be talking about this very experience, along with other reports of missing time in
[00:00:24] the desert, a red ball of light in the sky, dreams that come to fruition, and the haunting history of Savannah, Georgia. Thank you for joining me, and welcome as always. I'm your host, Nic Ryan.
[00:00:58] Before I start tonight's show, I'd like to recognize Carol and Maria for their contributions on Patreon and Buy Me A Coffee. Thank you so very much for your generosity. And of course, the show would not be possible without all of my amazing listeners around the world.
[00:01:14] I appreciate all of your continued support. And now, let's begin with our first experience of the night, which comes to us from Ethan. And Ethan's encounter is called Alien Abduction Story. Ethan says, Hello Nic, I just finished listening to one of your podcast episodes.
[00:01:38] After listening, I decided that I wanted to share this story with you. I have never had a paranormal experience myself, but I have one remarkable story of when my mom and my grandpa had a close encounter with aliens.
[00:01:54] My grandpa is a strong believer in the paranormal, especially when it concerns extraterrestrial life and UFOs. He's read many books and watched many documentaries on the subject. He has lived in the desert all of his life, and has resided in an RV in the desert for
[00:02:10] the past several years. My mom also lived in the desert for a great deal of her childhood. When she would go to live with my grandpa, she would live in a tent on his camp out in the desert.
[00:02:23] It was the winter of 1991, and my grandpa and my mom were living at my grandpa's camp out near Moab, Utah. They had plans to meet up with my aunt and my grandpa's girlfriend at her house in Salt Lake City the next morning. We'll call my grandpa's girlfriend, Jeannie.
[00:02:41] So that night they went to bed and fell asleep. In the middle of the night, however, they were woken up by the voices of my aunt and Jeannie's voices outside, calling for them. They then went outside to meet them.
[00:02:56] The two of them acted relieved, and they asked both my mom and my grandpa where they had been and why they hadn't met with them. Both my mom and my grandpa were confused, as they had plans to meet the two the next morning.
[00:03:09] However, the two of them said that it had been four days since they'd planned to meet at Salt Lake City. When asking my grandpa about this story, he strongly theorized that this was sure proof that they had been abducted by aliens.
[00:03:24] Losing track of large spaces of time and not remembering why is a common sign that one has been taken by aliens. My mom and my grandpa then gathered their things, and they drove with the two to Jeannie's house, and they stayed the night there.
[00:03:39] That night, my grandpa was suddenly awoken to find that he couldn't move. He was in a state of paralysis. He did have the ability to move his eyes though, and this is when he looked to the foot of his bed to see two gray aliens watching him.
[00:03:54] He then looked down to see an ugly furry creature making a horrible gurgling noise. He stayed like this for several moments, until the three extraterrestrials vanished in a flash of light. My mom then ran into his room exclaiming, Dad, they're here.
[00:04:12] She then told him that she had experienced the same thing. This further confirms to me that my mom and my grandpa were possibly abducted by aliens. They were visited the next night, likely by the same aliens that had taken them before.
[00:04:27] I don't know why they might have returned and revealed themselves to my mom and my grandpa, but I suspect that it may have been to observe them after they were returned to Earth. Tonight's next encounter comes to us from Soshi, and Soshi's experience is called
[00:04:47] UFO Story and Dreams Come True. Soshi says, Hi Nick, I'm finally writing another story to you. I'll start with a short story of a UFO that I saw about 5 to 7 years ago. I was working as a cleaning lady at Amway.
[00:05:05] I worked second shift, and it was part time. I was on my way home from work around 11pm, and I was driving down the road towards the highway, when I looked to my right, and I saw this bright light in the sky.
[00:05:18] It was a medium-sized red ball of light. I was waiting for it to flash like a plane, but it never did. The longer I looked at it, I started to see two smaller white lights in the middle of the red ball.
[00:05:30] I had to look away so I could watch the road, and when I looked back, it was gone, but it left behind a red smear in the sky, kind of like what you would see in space movies when the ships would go into light speed.
[00:05:44] It was pretty cool. My next story I'm not sure is really paranormal, but kind of. I've caught up with your podcast, and I heard a lot of stories about prophetic dreams, and I get these all the time, but with small details.
[00:05:59] For instance, I would be dreaming about elephants, and the next day I would be watching TV, and elephants would show up. Or, I had a dream about a guy and his dog named Kyle,
[00:06:09] and the next day I was going through TikTok, and someone would say the name Kyle. I know they're not very exciting dreams, but last night I had a dream that my neighbors had texted me,
[00:06:20] and telling me that they let their dogs out, so that I didn't let mine out at the same time. This is because the dogs get crazy when they see each other. Then today I went outside, and when I got back I heard their dogs were outside,
[00:06:33] and I saw that they had left me and my fiancé cookies as a thank you for shoveling their driveway. This obviously is not the most extreme prophetic dream, but maybe a little. I even had these dreams before my daughter was born.
[00:06:47] I've known her father since I was in second grade, and I had the biggest crush on him. When he left the school, I would dream about him all the time. In the dream he would always be saying that he wanted to give me something, or tell me something,
[00:07:01] but the dream never got to that point. I always knew he was going to be part of my life, but I didn't know why until I had my daughter. Her father and I didn't work out, but my daughter was meant to be.
[00:07:15] I don't know if most of this counts as paranormal or not, but I think it's cool, and some of it is just destiny. Before I continue tonight's episode, I hope you'll consider showing your support by subscribing, sharing, and giving Paranormal Mysteries a positive review.

[00:07:53] All of my support information can be found in the show notes. Our next experience comes to us from Mike, and Mike's experience is called 1900s Ghost Figure. Mike says, It was the year 2006. I was in my freshman year in college at the Savannah College of Art and Design
[00:08:16] in Savannah, Georgia. Savannah is known as one of the most haunted cities in America. Before going to school, I'd always wonder if I'd have an encounter, knowing how haunted it was. But nothing could have prepared me for what I saw.
[00:08:32] On one weekend evening during my first quarter of college, some people I met during my first week wanted to go to some haunted locations. We discussed this during dinner in the mess hall, and they told me they'd stop by later that night.
[00:08:45] They knocked on my dorm at 1am and told me to meet them in the parking lot. I was super excited to see these locations, and I grabbed my camera and started to head over. For some context about the dormitories at the time,
[00:08:59] they were old hotels converted to dorms. Three buildings in total on one side, with a parking lot between them. On my way over to the parking lot, I walked across the grass and my foot landed in a ditch. Immediately I rolled my left ankle.
[00:09:15] I was in excruciating pain. I was so angry this happened because I thought I might not be able to go, but that wasn't going to stop me. The pain was sharp and my ankle was throbbing, but all my mind could think about was seeing these locations.
[00:09:30] I limped over to their car and tried not to make it obvious. I was quiet, but only because I was in so much pain. I hopped into the car and we drove a short distance to a house in Calhoun Square on the southeast corner of East Gordon Street.
[00:09:46] We walked around and took pictures of the house. It was old, creepy, and abandoned. I took some photos but didn't know what to expect. There were hundreds of orbs in my pictures, and by this point in the night, my ankle started to feel somewhat better.
[00:10:02] We then hopped in the car and drove to another abandoned house, 12 West Oglethorpe. We pulled up to this house and you can feel the heaviness. There was something about it that was just creepy. As my friends told it, the legend goes,
[00:10:18] if you knock on the door at 3am, you'll hear footsteps coming down the stairs to the door, and it will crack open. A couple of my friends knocked on the door, laughing and being loud with their southern accents.
[00:10:30] I was a bit annoyed because I didn't want the houses next door to call the cops. Something inside me felt very uncomfortable while they were doing this. In the back of my mind, I knew we shouldn't have been there, and this feeling of running away filled me.
[00:10:45] While they were at the door knocking and pounding, I slowly walked around. My ankle started hurting again. I couldn't really go anywhere being crippled at the moment. The throbbing continued and I felt the beating of the pain shooting up my leg. I stood behind a waist-high iron fence
[00:11:03] and gazed into the window. This was the only window available to see into the home. I then began getting my camera ready to take a picture. I was thinking at that moment, I'll never catch anything. But I pointed my camera at the window and clicked away.
[00:11:20] The flash went off. I looked down at my camera and was stunned by what I saw. It couldn't be. I zoomed in on the photo and saw what appeared to be a face of a man with a mustache. In a rush, I took a couple more pictures continuously.
[00:11:36] This haunting face was manifesting and with each picture I took it turned into a full body of a man staring at me. He had a bowl-shaped black hat, a black mustache with dark eyes, and he was wearing a black suit with a white piece between his neck
[00:11:51] like a priest would wear. I shouted over to my friend to come and take a look to make sure I wasn't going insane. We looked at the camera and they were in shock. A chill went down my spine and the pain of my ankle vanished
[00:12:06] and I stood there in fear. I looked back into the window trying to make sense of it all, brushing it off and telling myself it was a picture frame on the wall. But there was nothing there. Creeped out, we left and went back to our dorms.
[00:12:20] I couldn't sleep the rest of the night. I uploaded the photos to my iPhoto on my Macbook the next day and I enhanced it to make the face out more clear. I tried to debunk it and even went back to the house during the day.
[00:12:34] But it was just an empty room. No painting was on the wall. As time went on, the house still stood there empty and abandoned. Eventually they boarded up the windows and doors and you couldn't see inside. A year later in my sophomore year, our RA from our dorm
[00:12:53] did a ghost walking tour through the city. We eventually passed the house, 12 West Oglethorpe. It wasn't on the list of haunted places but I stopped the RA to tell the story about what I saw. I explained that I saw a man
[00:13:08] but I left out the details of this clothing. Four other people in the group said that they saw the same man and described him as wearing a bull-shaped black hat, black suit, and a white collar that a priest would wear. One girl saw him looking at her
[00:13:24] when her taxi stopped in front of the house during traffic at night. Another saw him while walking past the window and the two others said that they passed him on the sidewalk and he disappeared when they looked behind them.
[00:13:38] I knew at that moment that I wasn't the only one. It was a bit of a relief. I then took the four individuals back to my dorm to show them the picture. They all turned white and they said that that was the man that they had seen.
[00:13:54] While writing this, I looked up the location to see if it's still abandoned. It's not. It's currently a fancy restaurant called Husk. I decided to google the address and found some interesting information to back up what I saw. Here is what I found and copy and pasted.
[00:14:13] According to the legend, the home that once stood before the house at 12 West Oglethorpe was owned by a doctor and his family. Their reign of the house was during the yellow fever epidemic that ravaged the city like a biblical plague. As the population of Savannah
[00:14:29] and Georgia as a whole dwindled in size, it was only a matter of time before the doctor himself fell victim to this unforgiving disease. But, like the modern saying, most car accidents occur within 10 minutes of one's home. The danger of becoming infected with this deadly curse
[00:14:47] always seems to be greater upon one's arrival home. The doctor's time did indeed eventually come. It was late in the night when the weary doctor called it a day and deservingly so as it was one of many long and tireless days. Days that he spent vigilantly working
[00:15:04] to save lives in the growing grimness that Savannah presented. The epidemic had all but turned the city into a dystopia, worse than hell. Every day, the doctor risked becoming infected while at work. But it was not until his return home that fateful night that he would finally face
[00:15:24] his own mortality. As he walked up to the front door of his house, a feeling washed over him. A feeling that made him sick to his stomach. He hesitated for a moment, questioning whether or not he should place his hand on the doorknob and enter his home,
[00:15:39] the very place he had always viewed as his sanctuary. Well, at least before this night. A few moments later, the doctor collected himself as he reasoned that he was being paranoid. In his mind, there was no place safer in the world than being at home with his family.
[00:15:57] With that logic, he placed his hand on the doorknob and he entered his house. With each step inside of his home that he took came the realization that he was wrong. The disease had made its way into his home, his youngest child's fever had spiked,
[00:16:13] and his organs seemed to be shutting down. Over the next couple of days, the doctor stayed home trying to save his child, but he could do nothing. Over the days, his child's skin yellowed while the sickness that he himself regurgitated was black as tar.
[00:16:31] It was not long after that that the child fell into a coma, later passing in the night. The doctor could not believe that for all his years training and practicing medicine, he could not save his own child. Unfortunately though, as tragic as the child's death was,
[00:16:50] it was not the end. One by one, the fever took hold of each member of the doctor's family, ravaging each of the poor souls in the same horrifying manner. And with each time the sickness passed on to another member of the family,
[00:17:03] the doctor fought to save yet another treasured life, trying to save one, at least one. But alas, he could not. Each futile effort could not escape his mind. Each day that passed only served as a reminder that he was running out of time.
[00:17:21] Any sense of reality that the doctor had left was lost when the final member of his family passed from the fever. The horror that he had witnessed twisted his mind. He could not reconcile the role he'd caused in the deaths of his family members.
[00:17:37] He came to think of himself as a mass murderer. He had infected his family. Why did I keep them here? Why didn't I take them away? Far away from Savannah? He asked himself these questions over and over again, and eventually he came to believe
[00:17:53] that he was being punished for the act of vanity. Before his immense loss, he believed that he and he alone could save people of Savannah from yellow fever. And now, reflecting upon his loss, he began to think that it was this vainness
[00:18:09] that directly put his family in harm's way. With his loved ones now nothing more than casualties of the disease, the doctor began wishing for himself to become infected. However, as weeks passed, his fever never even spiked. But why? He would ask himself. Take me! Take me!
[00:18:28] He would beg God. The doctor wanted not to just die, but to suffer. To suffer in the same way that his family did. Actually, more so. He wanted to be punished. Punished at first for not keeping his family safe,
[00:18:43] and then for not being able to cure them of the fever. But ultimately, he wanted to be punished. For surviving. After days of unanswered prayers, the doctor decided to take actions into his own hands. But killing himself would be too easy.
[00:19:00] A bullet in the head was just an easy way out in his mind. What then? How? Weak of mind, the doctor came to the only conclusion that he could reach. He went into the room of his youngest child, the first to succumb to the disease.
[00:19:15] The room was empty, except for a bed. He boarded up the window as he felt undeserving of even light. The doctor then locked himself in the room without food or water. He then looked at the bed, pondering for only a second,
[00:19:31] then opted to sit down on the hard wooden floor. For days, the doctor stayed locked in the room, hidden from the world as he wasted away. Already weakened from the loss of his family, the refusal of the smallest amount of food
[00:19:45] and the littlest bit of water was inconsequential. He was already dying from malnutrition before he even locked himself away. Now with his complete refusal of food and water. It was not long before he died. It's important to clarify that the doctor's tale is just that, a tale.
[00:20:07] Its purpose is unclear. No one knows in all certainty just how the story came to be. But one thing is known for sure. It was not the last rumor to be spread about the grounds at 12 West Oglethorpe. The ghostly unknown and mysteriousness
[00:20:23] that encompasses the grounds at 12 West Oglethorpe has led to endless rumors. Rumors that have plagued the house much in the same way as the yellow fever epidemic had cursed the city of Savannah. It's impossible to recount all of the tales that surrounded that house,
[00:20:38] as there are just too many. Most have little to no validity, while others are ever-changing bits of nonsensical information that are shoveled around about town as gospel. There have been whispers that insinuate that 12 West Oglethorpe once operated as a church. Big deal, right?
[00:20:57] It is the South after all, and there are churches everywhere. Well, the church that the rumors whispered of was actually the Church of Satan. And moreover, the whispers about town contain more salacious details. Details of satanic rituals and animal sacrifices that regularly occur inside the house. A church.
[00:21:20] And the man I saw in the window had a black hat, a black suit, and a priest's collar. Is it too much of a coincidence? I could never tie the two together. It did seem odd to see a ghost with a priest outfit in a house.
[00:21:35] It never made a lick of sense until I read that it was potentially a satanic church. I haven't visited the location in years. I always wonder what's in there and how much activity there is. But that photo is still proof to this day of what I saw.
[00:21:55] I have posted Mike's picture in the forum for everyone to see, and you can find a link to it in the show notes. As I bring tonight's episode to an end, I'd like to thank Ethan, Soshi, and Mike for sharing their experiences.
