323: Convenient Store Shadow Person, A Magic Rock & Something In The Closet

[00:00:00] I want you to think of a haunted location. Got one in mind? Good. Now, some of you might be picturing an old mansion, creepy forest, or most likely a moonlit cemetery. While these are all excellent choices, would you ever suspect a convenience store as a

[00:00:25] likely place to encounter the supernatural? Tonight, I'll be talking about a case in Oregon where this is being reported, along with other experiences involving ghostly attachments, a loving father's spirit, a time warp, and a stone that grants wishes. Thank you for joining me and welcome.

[00:01:23] Now let's begin with our first experience of the night, which comes to us from Zach. And Zach's experience is called Haunted Convenience Store. Zach says, Hey Nic, I live in Medford, Oregon, and I've had some small experiences at the convenience store that I manage.

[00:01:44] First let me tell you that I grew up in a very Christian family. However, they don't believe in the paranormal, which doesn't make sense to me. But anyway, on to my experiences. My experiences vary on time of day.

[00:01:59] Some have happened in the middle of the day, while others have happened at night, when I'm closing down the store. The first thing that ever happened to me was at night, closing down.

[00:02:09] All the doors were locked, all the lights off, and I was counting out the tills, when I heard my name being whispered, right into my ear. Zach. It was soft, almost like a woman's voice, but I couldn't be sure. I looked around, but no one was there.

[00:02:27] As I said, all the doors were locked, and I was the only one present. The next experience happened in the middle of the day. It was slow, so me and my coworker were walking around the store, stocking shelves, and cleaning.

[00:02:42] I was walking into our beer cave, and I got about halfway in, and the door hadn't even started to close yet, when I heard my coworker's voice say, Hey Zach. Like she wanted to ask me a question.

[00:02:54] I turned right around, and went to go and find my coworker, and I asked what she wanted. But then she asked, What do you mean, what do I want?

[00:03:03] I told her that I had heard her call for me, but she still swears that she never called my name. I also need to add that at the time, we were the only two in the store, and there were no customers.

[00:03:16] I have had more experiences, but the last one I'm going to leave you with is my shadow person experience. Again, it was after closing, and I had gotten there late at about 1030 or so, due to a family birthday.

[00:03:31] I was again counting out the tills, when out of the corner of my eye, I saw a dark shadow to my left. I looked up and saw a dark shadow person just standing there, but all I could see of this entity was the torso and the head.

[00:03:45] It was black, had no facial features, no eyes or mouth, but I could see arms resting at the entity's side. It was tall, probably around 6'4 to 6'5. I am 6'1, so it was taller than me.

[00:04:01] Out of all the things I've experienced, I have not felt any bad vibes from whatever this thing is. Thanks Nick for giving us a space to tell our stories, even if they do seem small compared to others.

[00:04:14] I wasn't going to share because of that, but I think that we all need to be heard, no matter how small, the experience. I hope all is well, and keep up the good work. Tonight's next experience comes to us from Kaylee, and Kaylee's experience is called... Ghost Attachment.

[00:04:38] Kaylee says... Hello Nick, I stumbled across your podcast on Pandora a few days ago, and I've been hooked ever since. I love listening to other people share their experiences with the paranormal, and I would love to share my stories with you.

[00:04:53] Ever since I was a child, I've been open to certain energy. You know that feeling when you feel like someone or something is running an electric current through your body, and it feels like someone is standing close to you, but no one is there.

[00:05:07] I have had that sensation plus other feelings my whole life, but I was not able to understand what it was until the age of 16. I started noticing dark shadows disappearing around corners, and faint brushes against my mind.

[00:05:23] However, I passed it off as loved ones who had passed over into the spirit world, and just letting me know that they are still looking out for me. At the age of 25, I moved into an apartment with a few friends of mine.

[00:05:36] Every night when I would lay down to go to sleep, I would feel that brushing against my mind. But it wasn't faint like it was before. It was as if something was trying to invade my head.

[00:05:48] I would cry out from the pressure that would build inside my head, causing the worst of headaches. Objects would randomly move around my room from where I originally placed them, and I never once would sleep with my closet door open,

[00:06:01] as the energy that poured out of the closet was foul, and made you feel like there were bugs crawling on your skin. Whatever was in that apartment latched onto me and followed me to my new home that I have, here in Kentucky.

[00:06:17] I had moved in with my now husband, and right away strange things started happening. Lights would flicker on and off when no one was in the room. Strange whispers were heard in the dead of night. Full-bodied figures walking through the house.

[00:06:32] Random knocking on walls, and items being thrown from shelves in my laundry room. One night I was laying in the living room with our German shepherd, Loki, who was dead asleep. And this is when I heard a strange noise coming from the kitchen.

[00:06:48] When I went to go and get up and see what it was, I heard a mix between a laugh and a growl coming from the kitchen. It was so loud that Loki jumped up with his hair raised on his hackles,

[00:07:00] and he started to growl at whatever was in the kitchen. I then ran into the kitchen, just in time to see a shadow figure disappear. In the town that I live in, there had been recent attempted kidnappings of young women.

[00:07:14] So I had started to carry a gun with me just for protection due to working the late shift, and not getting home till after 12am most nights. I kept my gun in a little zip-up bag, and whenever I would get home from work that night,

[00:07:28] I would always put it up on the shelf in my closet. One morning, I woke up to a phone call from my husband, asking why I had put the gun in the pocket of his jacket, without the clip. So I got up and ran over to the closet,

[00:07:43] and grabbed my zip-up bag that was sitting on the shelf. And sure enough, inside the bag was just the clip that houses the bullets to my gun. But the gun wasn't there. I told my husband that I didn't put it in his jacket,

[00:07:58] and that I did what I always do, which was put it in the closet. I am now 28, and to this day we still don't know how or why the gun ended up in his pocket. Strange occurrences still happen,

[00:08:12] and we have tried to find out who the spirit is, in order to help them move on, but we have been unsuccessful. We have tried to cleanse the home, and have placed crystals around the home for positive energy.

[00:08:24] We do have video evidence of the ghost that was caught on our camera that we had set up to keep an eye on our dogs, which I can send you as well. Thank you for taking time out of your day to read my entry,

[00:09:09] I work from home, and just stumbled upon Amazon Music Podcasts, and I found your program. Thanks for doing this, and providing a place for people to share their experiences. It's great hearing regular stories from regular people, that are not sensationalized.

[00:09:26] I have a bunch of stories of my own, but I'd like to share the most uplifting experience. I'm a very skeptical person, but I'm also open to the supernatural and paranormal. I just demand substantial evidence, and I try to not jump to conclusions. Anyway,

[00:09:44] my wife's father passed away about a year before we met. It was still painful for her to talk about it, but she had told me a lot about him, and I had seen pictures over the years that we were together. After three years of dating, we got married,

[00:09:59] and my wife wanted to pick her father's birthday for the wedding day. When the time came, we had a friend who was a photographer take pictures for the event. This was back before digital cameras really took off, so it was regular film, and not digital.

[00:10:15] A few weeks later, when the photos were all developed, our friend the photographer apologized for a fault in the camera that caused some overexposure light spots in some pictures. We all joked that it was her father's ghost, but none of us were serious. At least, not at first.

[00:10:33] Once we got a good look at all the photos, there were about a dozen with the light spots. We noticed that the light was about the height of a person, and were always next to either my wife, or her father's brother,

[00:10:45] and sometimes even between the two of them. None of the photos had the light spots anywhere else. Fast forward a few years, and we had a young daughter. She was still basically a baby, and had just recently started talking.

[00:11:00] One evening, we got out a bunch of photo albums, and our daughter was very into it. She was pointing at photos and asking questions at every page. One photo album was full of my wife's family from decades earlier, in the late 70s and early 80s,

[00:11:16] so it was full of old photos of aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc. At every single picture, our daughter pointed and said, Who dat? My wife would reply, That's your grandmother. That's Aunt Joanie. That's your grandpa Joe. Joe was my wife's father. The album was about 24 pages,

[00:11:38] with four photos on each page. Over and over, she would point and say, Who dat? And we would tell her. Next page, Who dat? She asked about everyone since the photos were old, and everyone looked very different. But then, on the last page,

[00:11:56] unlike the previous pages with four photos per page, there were some empty pages at the end where my wife had put a single, much more recent, close-up headshot of her father that was taken only months before he passed. Our daughter, who had just repeated the phrase,

[00:12:12] Who dat? about a hundred times, excitedly spoke up and said, Oh, I know him. He is my friend. My wife and I paused and looked at each other with surprised and questioning looks on our faces. To the best of our knowledge,

[00:12:27] she had never seen a recent photo of her grandfather before. We then asked our daughter, Have you seen him before? And she then replied, He came and visited me last night. Before I continue tonight's episode, I hope you'll consider showing your support by subscribing, sharing,

[00:14:31] get your houses checked for gas leaks, mold, et cetera, as well as your mental health checked. There is undoubtedly paranormal activity out there, but please rule out health risks first. This comes from a place of love, and as you're about to hear,

[00:14:49] I'm a believer and have had my own experiences. My father and I have both experienced what we think is a time warp or loop in the bathroom of the house we both grew up in. It's an old homestead on a farm that my dad's dad bought 90 years ago.

[00:15:06] There's nothing negative in that house, and we've lived there for three generations now, but there is energy. Standing in the hall looking into the bathroom, there is a window on the opposite wall, and on the left, there was a bath and then the shower.

[00:15:23] We've both seen a small child step into the shower as we walk past. When we were young, my dad just thought that it was one of us kids, but as we've gotten older and have seen the small child ourselves, we cannot deny that it's an interesting occurrence.

[00:15:39] We still see the child, even though the bathroom has been remodeled and the shower is now where the bath was. The second phenomenon I've experienced is my mom leaving her essence or spirit behind. Dad and I are believers, although rational ones, but mom isn't.

[00:15:59] She's got no time for ghosts, so I find it interesting that I hear her moving around the house when she's not at home. As anyone who's lived with someone for a long time knows, you can hear who's coming by their walk, so I know when it's my mom,

[00:16:15] especially as she's much smaller than my dad and my brothers. I hear her having conversations in the next room, even when she's outside. I don't think this is a mimic because there is no negativity connected to this.

[00:16:30] One time I saw my mom in her favorite shop in town, only to find out that no one was inside when I went to see her. This was the point that I realized how often I saw and felt mom, but she wasn't around,

[00:16:44] and my mom is very much alive. Maybe that's why I feel her presence when she's away, because she's so full of life that she leaves energy in her wake and in places she feels comfortable. Thanks so much, Nick, and to your listeners, be safe and have fun.

[00:17:07] Our next experience comes to us from Kyle, and Kyle's encounter is called Magic Stone. Kyle says, Hello, I thought I would share a story about a strange connection I have to a stone that I found. While at work one day unloading a semi-truck trailer,

[00:17:28] I was looking at the gravel on the ground out of boredom because the trailer primarily unloads itself. While looking at the black gravel, I noticed one white rock about the size of a Hershey Kiss without the pointed top. I picked it up,

[00:17:43] and I felt a power surging through my body from it, so I put it in my pocket with the thought of keeping it forever. It was like some kind of immediate obsession, similar to the gold ring in the movie Lord of the Rings.

[00:17:58] I carried the rock every day in my pocket and rubbed it until it was very smooth. Understand that I was in my mid-thirties, and I've never had a weird obsession with anything like that before. What was seemingly paranormal about the rock is that it felt happy,

[00:18:14] and it would gift me what I would ask of it, such as lots of money, promotions at work, and greater physical health. After carrying and rubbing this rock in my pocket for about two years, it seemingly started to feel negative and not so happy.

[00:18:32] After some time, I thought, well, maybe the rock wants some fresh air and sunshine out of my pocket to make it happy once again. So, I placed the rock on my patio on some soil in a pot of plants. I would check on it every morning and night.

[00:18:47] I think this was due to my obsession and wanting it back in my pocket. After a few days, I decided to carry it again, and almost immediately, things began to go wrong in my life. So, I set it back in the same place outside,

[00:19:04] still checking on it daily, the same as before. After three days, I checked on it one morning and it was still there. However, nine hours later, when checking on it again, it was gone. I asked my girlfriend if she had seen it, but she said no.

[00:19:21] She had been at work all day and actually had no idea about my rock. Keep in mind that we lived alone, just she and I. I was disappointed for days until I eventually forgot about it. This is where the magic happened, from the rock again.

[00:19:40] A few weeks later, I went to bed after a long day at work. I then found myself waking up hours later and standing in my hallway, almost in my living room. To my astonishment, the rock was in my hand and I was subconsciously rubbing it vigorously.

[00:19:58] It had returned to me. I kept it with me again, but strange things kept happening after that. Things would move around my apartment, literally as I was walking by. Bad feelings would be around at night and I would wake up punching holes in the wall

[00:20:15] or savagely destroying things in a sleepwalk daze. I became a very angry person. I finally decided that it was the rock that had gone bad and it was making me a monster. So I very reluctantly threw it in the garbage. So reluctantly that for days

[00:20:33] I had a strong desire to go dumpster diving and find it. I even thought that if I went to the landfill, that it would find its way back to me. I haven't seen the rock since, but much to my surprise, after throwing it away,

[00:20:47] things turned for the best. I was offered an amazing job with more pay. I quit destroying things in my sleep and I even lost my angry attitude. I'm curious if it was me all that time giving credit to the rock
