331: People In The Closet, Glitch In The Matrix, Shadow Entities & A Mimic

[00:00:27] in the closet, a bizarre entity that mimics multiple family members, and an extraordinary report involving a neighbor that has mystical powers. These experiences and more are coming up on tonight's episode of Paranormal Mysteries. Thank you for joining me and welcome. I'm your host, Nic Ryan.

[00:01:06] Our first experience of the night comes to us from Rebecca, and Rebecca's experience is called People In The Closet. Rebecca says, Hi Nic. Firstly, I'd like to say thank you for opening a safe place for those of us who have experienced the strange and unknown.

[00:01:26] It's very disheartening when some of us have to keep our experiences to ourselves due to being ridiculed by friends, family members, and sometimes even strangers. Thank you again. I've been binge listening to your podcast for a few months now and love hearing about other people's experiences.

[00:01:44] I'm currently on episode 280, but so far I haven't heard anything that quite resembles an experience my sister had some years ago. Before I get into the story, I'd like to preface this with saying this is not my story, but

[00:01:59] my sister's, and she has given me permission to retell it, as long as I rename the people involved in the story. I have always enjoyed anything paranormal and strange related, and not much really gets me scared anymore, unless it involves children.

[00:02:15] This embodied children's voices and laughs, and even children's imaginary friends, terrify me. This is funny considering I'm a mother of two and will quickly shut down any imaginary friends that happen. Call me mean, but I promise my children are healthy, loved, and well taken care of, with

[00:02:33] an entire neighborhood of friends to play with. At least 15 or so years ago, my sister was dating a man who had two children from a previous marriage. We'll call them Mary, 6, who was the oldest, and Sue, 3, the youngest.

[00:02:50] My sister's boyfriend worked a lot of nights, and sometimes he wouldn't be home until 3 or 4 in the morning, which left my sister alone in the house, which we think was built in the 80s.

[00:03:01] They did have a roommate, but he also worked with her boyfriend, so he had the same schedule, which made it easier on gas as well. On this night, Mary and Sue had come to spend some time with their father for the weekend.

[00:03:14] One night, during this weekend, my sister's boyfriend and the roommate were at work. It was getting super late, and the girls had already gone to bed. My sister was getting ready to go to bed as well, and turned the TV off and any lights

[00:03:28] that were on, and began to make her way to the room. She had to pass by the room the girls were sleeping in to get to her room, and when she did, she paused. Sue, the youngest, was talking to someone.

[00:03:42] My sister stopped in front of their door and just listened. It wasn't like the girls to make things up or talk in their sleep, and their mom never mentioned anything about the girls being talkative sleepers.

[00:03:54] My sister kept standing in front of the door and cracked open the door and listened, and this is when she suddenly noticed a black shadow zipping in front of the closet door, which had the light on.

[00:04:07] Worried that someone might be in the house, my sister opened the door, only to find Sue sitting straight up on her side of the bed and staring at the closet. Her sister Mary was snoring softly as she slept.

[00:04:20] When my sister walked over to Sue, she told my sister that the people in the closet wouldn't stop talking and moving, and it was keeping her awake. My sister calmed her down and told her that it was just a dream and to go back to bed,

[00:04:34] which Sue did. This experience scared my sister so bad she called her boyfriend and pleaded that him and their roommate come home as soon as possible. Now I would have just chalked this story up to maybe Sue having a dream or being a very

[00:04:49] imaginative child if it weren't for the many stories that my sister has had in this house. They didn't stay there long, but it was long enough to get some experiences in. Thank you again, and if you shared this on your podcast, I'd love to know if anyone else

[00:05:06] has dealt with children, related or not, seeing and talking to people in the closet. Our next experience comes to us from Stella, and Stella's story is called Possible Mimic and Shadow Person. Stella says, Hi there.

[00:05:28] This is the first time I've told my story to anyone who isn't a close friend, as I didn't want people thinking that I'm insane, but I know that I can share it here without judgment.

[00:05:38] I believe there is a mimic of some sort in my house, and the reason I think this rather than just a shadow person, I will tell you now. The first time I encountered it was around 2019, in my room.

[00:05:52] The foot of my bed faced my door, with my desk next to the door. This is quite important to the story. I was sleeping on my stomach when I woke up from hearing footsteps near the foot of my bed.

[00:06:03] We have wooden floors and some planks are loose, so they click and creak if you walk on them. During this, I thought it was my brother, and I got irritated. Still, I was interested to find out what he was doing in my room at this time of night,

[00:06:18] so I just pretended to roll over in my sleep, so that I could watch and see what he was doing. This is when I saw a shadowy figure hunched over the side of my desk and rummaging through whatever was on it at the time.

[00:06:32] I suppose it sensed me looking at it, because its head instantly snapped towards me, and we locked eyes. Now this figure actually had no eyes, it was just a being of pure shadow. At this point all the blood left my body and I lied there frozen with fear.

[00:06:49] We just kept staring at each other for what felt like hours, and it just slowly faded away, and disappeared. The next day I was home alone working on some assignments, while my mom went to fetch my brother from school.

[00:07:03] My dad was in Mali for work at the time, so this experience was especially eerie. My dad walks with a limp due to a shattered kneecap, and he is a bit on the heavier side, so his footsteps and breathing are extremely distinct.

[00:07:18] I was minding my business and doing my homework, when I suddenly heard my dad walking around the house. I was entirely covered in chills, but yelled out, Go away! You're not welcome here! And the sound stopped. At this point, my family has seen the figure too.

[00:07:36] In 2015, right before my mom got sick, my dad woke up one night to see my brother rummaging through my mom's desk drawers. He grabbed his flashlight to see what my brother was up to, but the figure had vanished.

[00:07:50] My mom's desk drawers were wide open with its contents strewn across the floor. My dad said that he went to go and check on my brother, thinking that he was looking for medicine or something, but he found him fast asleep in his bed.

[00:08:04] Sometime last year, my mom said that she saw me in the kitchen in the middle of the night, burning small pieces of paper with a lighter in front of the stove. She went to confront me, but I was gone.

[00:08:16] She came to my room to ask what I was doing, but I was asleep and extremely confused when she woke me up to ask me about it. One time, my parents and brother were on vacation, but I stayed home because of university, and

[00:08:30] I heard my mom's voice clear as day calling my name. In 2021, I was going through a pretty rough breakup, so I wasn't sleeping at night, and I was up texting one of my friends at around 4am, and this is when I heard and felt a

[00:08:45] voice saying my name directly in my ear. All these reasons lead me to believe that we're dealing with a mimic rather than a shadow person. For all I know, there could be both in this house.

[00:08:58] Sometimes when I lie awake at night, I can hear someone rummaging through things in the house, but I just close my eyes and I pretend it's not there. If I never see that thing looking at me again, it would be too soon.

[00:09:15] Our next report comes to us from Cassandra, and Cassandra's story is called My Mystic Neighbor. Cassandra says, Hello again, my friend. I have another experience for you. One that blew my mind when I watched it unfold right before my eyes.

[00:09:34] It all started in the early afternoon on St. Patrick's Day. Everyone's Irish on St. Patrick's Day, right? So everyone should celebrate. Given the holiday, I had some friends over to devour some corned beef, cabbage, potatoes,

[00:09:47] and carrots for supper, followed by a homemade chocolate cake with homemade raspberry buttercream frosting. It was so good. We had a few drinks and we were playing cards against humanity, the super adult version,

[00:10:00] when we got on the subject of people that we'd lost and what they meant to us. One of my friends, we'll call her Robin, was talking about her grandma and how she'd only been gone roughly a year.

[00:10:12] We could tell that she was starting to get emotional, so we changed the subject and she soon got back into good spirits. A while later, probably around 5.30 that night, my daughter called to warn me about an entity

[00:10:24] that had been making its way through our family, causing anger, starting fights, the typical angry spirit stuff. Given that I had felt it for a few days prior to her call, I knew I had to sage my house

[00:10:36] to make sure that it didn't decide to come back for another visit. No one needs that, right? Especially not on a day to celebrate the final extinction of wild snakes from Ireland by the great Saint Patrick. That's actually how he was sainted, if I remember correctly.

[00:10:53] I've been out of Blue Sage for a while now and given my slight state of inebriation, I called on my neighbor to see if she would help me. We'll call her Amy.

[00:11:03] Amy lives across the hall from me in the building and while the walls are thin, you can hear the neighbors both above and beside me fighting or doing other private things.

[00:11:13] But Amy wasn't able to hear our conversation as she was in her room on the far side of her apartment. So she told me to give her a few minutes to gather her things and she'd be over.

[00:11:24] Within ten minutes, she was knocking on my door before walking right in. She's one of the few people that I'm close to that I would allow to do that. Stepping inside, she took a deep breath to absorb all the yummy smells wafting through

[00:11:37] my apartment, but was soon distracted by both the entity that was trying to linger in my bedroom and the presence of a couple other benign spirits that seemed to be celebrating with us. Now, Amy is a mystic in the truest sense of the word.

[00:11:52] She does readings for people that in my presence alone are 98.9% accurate. She is paid for what she does and needs no cues whatsoever to quote-unquote see what she needs to, depending on who the reading is for.

[00:12:08] So she stops beside Robin before she's even had a chance to start saging my place, and starts talking about a sweet old lady that she sees sitting beside her on the couch. Robin looks up at her, completely astonished, before having a full breakdown.

[00:12:23] She was very close to her grandma, thinking of her more as a motherly type, and this is something that Amy picked up on right away. Amy hadn't meant to surprise her like that. It's just something that Amy does.

[00:12:37] Forgetting all about saging my place at the time, she began communicating what it was Robin's grandmother wanted her to know. Now to prove her accuracy, she told Robin how her grandmother had been found after she passed away, and what she had been wearing.

[00:12:52] She described it to the exact detail. These are things that Amy could not have known, but were shown to everyone there via a picture that Robin had on her phone. She then went on to say that an older, more grandfatherly type male had reached his hand

[00:13:07] to Robin's grandmother to help her to the other side, and she then described the man in great detail. It turns out that it was Robin's great-grandfather that was helping her to cross over. Now, just because a person crosses doesn't mean that they can't come back to visit on

[00:13:22] occasion, which is what was happening with Robin's grandmother. After spending almost an hour communicating with Robin's grandmother and helping Robin with the grief she was feeling, she remembered why she had come over in the first place.

[00:13:36] Saging my apartment, she left the smudge stick to burn on my coffee table for a while, before returning home to do the reading she was actually supposed to be doing that night. The one that she was actually being paid to do.

[00:13:49] Given that I don't let people drink and drive when they've been partying at my place, I made my guests pull up the most comfortable piece of floor they could find, and pull a blanket over themselves to sleep it off.

[00:14:00] From the following morning, after coffee and breakfast, most of my guests left. However, Robin stayed behind for most of the afternoon, so she could soak up all that had happened the night before.

[00:14:12] She didn't want to go home, as she didn't want to go back to people that were so skeptical they wouldn't believe someone farted, if they didn't smell it themselves. I told her she was always welcome to come over to just get away from her roommates for a

[00:14:25] while, which is something she'd been planning on doing this weekend. Anyway, that's the experience we had with my incredibly talented and accurate neighbor. It was awesome to watch and to know that she's so in tune with what's going on around

[00:15:49] With that being said, I'll be right back after this brief message. Our next experience comes to us from Barbara. And Barbara's experience is called... Encounter with an Entity Barbara says... Mr. Nick Ryan, this will be somewhat long but I'd like to recount a good bit of what

[00:16:11] I've experienced in the past number of years. I've been trying to get an answer as to why I have seen and felt the things that I have and haven't been able to get any answers yet.

[00:16:21] I'm not going to recount all that I've experienced, but the following ones will probably be more realistic, or perhaps interesting to you if I'm not mistaken about things you've covered in your podcasts.

[00:16:33] I had lived in a different town than I am in now when my encounter with what I call an entity for lack of knowing exactly what I encountered occurred, which I have no real explanation for.

[00:16:45] The first one was when I lived in a house with my young twins and husband, and had a few encounters with what I've been calling an entity for quite a number of years.

[00:16:54] I had been in my bathroom fixing my hair when I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned around as I was saying, What do you want? thinking that it was probably one of my twins, but there wasn't anyone there. Yet, I felt a presence.

[00:17:09] I went back to fixing my hair and it happened again. I wasn't particularly frightened or concerned, just curious as to what had just happened. Then I heard my husband calling me from the opposite side of the house. The thing is, he wasn't even home at that time.

[00:17:26] Nothing much occurred for a number of years afterwards, at the same house. Later, after my twins had left home to live elsewhere and go to college, we had moved to a different town.

[00:17:38] During the time we lived at the new location, and after we had been out of the first house for quite a few years, my adopted daughter, a young woman who was originally from Peru,

[00:17:47] was doing a lot of work on it in order to put it on the market to sell. There were times my daughter had friends over and they'd spend the night. During the night hours, these friends would be awakened by a presence who they couldn't see.

[00:18:00] However, it was holding them down and hurting them the way he was holding them down and not letting them up. They couldn't stop it from happening and were extremely frightened. This happened repeatedly with other people, and it happened to my daughter as well.

[00:18:16] We also had workers come to the house who were staying there while they were working on it, and they experienced the same thing. They were so frightened that they just left the house, as well as some of the tools and equipment that they had been using.

[00:18:29] They refused to ever come back there again. I just haven't been able to understand why he would hurt everyone else, but never harm me in any way. Plus, I've not been able to find anyone yet to explain why he never did.

[00:18:43] I don't know if you can give me any answers as to why he didn't, but I'm writing you in the hope that you can give me an explanation. Another time in the house I live in now, I would awaken to the sounds of Native Americans

[00:18:55] dancing and whooping around a circle with a fire in the center. I would go to this room that they were in and just listen. I wasn't at all frightened. I didn't see them with my eyes, but rather in my mind's eye.

[00:19:09] I'd go back to bed, and I could still hear them. This happened quite a number of times. I have since moved into that room, and I use it to sleep in now, but I haven't heard them since.

[00:19:22] I've experienced other things as well, and perhaps you could explain those to me at another time. Barbara I have spoken to Barbara several times now, and I have also put her in touch with one of my long-time listeners in the hopes of answering some of her questions.

[00:19:56] A Reappearing Memory or a Glitch in the Matrix Laura says Hello Nick. I'm currently 24, and the story I'm going to tell happened a long time ago when I was in elementary school.

[00:20:10] I don't know what type of paranormal event it was, but I would say that it was a glitch in the matrix. One day when I was coming back from school, I saw a man and a woman with a child arguing on the street.

[00:20:23] Apparently they were strangers, and from what I could hear, the man had touched the woman without consent, which caused the fight. I think the woman had a black bob haircut with bangs, and she was wearing a short skirt.

[00:20:36] Anyway, they yelled for a while, but the weird thing was it seemed like nobody else noticed it except for me. Street fights usually get attention, but it seemed like nobody cared. So while they were arguing, the traffic lights turned green, and they crossed the street

[00:20:52] like nothing had happened. But the crazy thing happened a few years later when I was coming back from school again, and I was at the exact same place. I remembered that accident, but decided to ignore it when I suddenly felt dizzy and disconnected.

[00:21:07] I don't know how to explain it, but it felt like something connected with my brain and then detached it from the world. I felt the urge to turn my head toward the exact spot where this incident had happened, and this is when I witnessed the exact same situation.

[00:21:23] I mean it was the same people, the same clothes and hairstyles, the same fight happening at the same place. The child was there too. It was like I couldn't hear or see anything else except for these people, although it was very noisy around me.

[00:21:40] Cars and people were passing by, but just like the first time, nobody else paid attention to the argument except for me. It was like all these other people were seeing the ordinary world, while I was the only one contemplating the fight.

[00:21:54] Then I stopped feeling dizzy, and the people just vanished. I tried to find them with my eyes, but they were completely gone in a second. My sister was with me both times, and she never heard or saw anything.

[00:22:08] Some might say that it was deja vu, or my imagination, but that's exactly how I remember the story. It was definitely something more unusual than a random deja vu. For sure, I'm a believer in the paranormal no matter if I truly experienced it or not,

[00:22:24] and I believe that I have a well-developed sixth sense. I often feel when something bad or important will happen. I can predict which person will be my friend, who will break my heart, or who will play

[00:22:36] an important role in my life literally the second I see them for the very first time. It's like I'm living a plot that I have read before. I love your podcast, and I listen to it on a daily basis. Greetings from Bulgaria.
