355: Black-Eyed Kids, Reality Glitch & An Evil Temptress

[00:00:04] Tonight, I'll be discussing a bizarre glitch in the Matrix, a close encounter with black-eyed

[00:00:12] children, a malevolent entity that takes the form of a beautiful woman, and a spirit in

[00:00:18] a wedding dress that can interact with the living.

[00:01:08] Some Kind of Glitch.

[00:01:12] Karen says,

[00:01:13] Hi Nick.

[00:01:14] For almost a year I have been a big fan of your podcast.

[00:01:17] I listen to every new episode and I am still catching up with all the old ones.

[00:01:21] I do like the listener's stories, but I also like the old ones with the specific topics

[00:01:26] like Men in Black, Mandela Effect, or The Mothman.

[00:01:31] Today I'd like to share a very strange happening that involves my son, my mother, and myself.

[00:01:38] My son and I live in a ground floor apartment with lots of big windows that can also be

[00:01:42] used as doors, and we also have a big lawn around the house.

[00:01:46] A few feet away from the apartment on the lawn there is a small playground with a narrow

[00:01:50] dirt road behind it.

[00:01:53] On this particular day my mother went on a hike with some friends and she wanted to stop

[00:01:57] by on her way back because she would be passing by our house and the dirt road that I mentioned

[00:02:03] earlier.

[00:02:04] It was a warm sunny day and most of our windows and doors were open, and my son was running

[00:02:09] in and out of the house and on the playground.

[00:02:12] I was sitting beside the open door reading a book and waiting for my mother.

[00:02:17] From where I was I had a good view of the whole lawn, playground, dirt road, and everything.

[00:02:23] However, my mother never came.

[00:02:26] At last she called me on my cell phone from her phone and I thought that she had gotten

[00:02:30] a ride home and therefore did not pass by our house, but she asked me if we were out

[00:02:36] shopping or something because she did not see anyone at the playground or in the house.

[00:02:41] She said that she had been knocking at my glass door just ten minutes ago.

[00:02:46] This was the same glass door that was open the whole afternoon and by which I was sitting

[00:02:51] for at least the last hour.

[00:02:54] I told her that I had been waiting for her and that not only the door but all the windows

[00:02:59] had been open as well and her grandson was running around between the house and the

[00:03:03] playground.

[00:03:05] There was just no way that she could have missed him or even me.

[00:03:09] She insisted that she had knocked on the closed glass door and then peeked in, but saw nobody

[00:03:15] in the living room.

[00:03:17] We eventually had to drop the subject because it sounded too insane for both of us.

[00:03:22] We never spoke of it since, but from time to time it does come to mind, and when it

[00:03:27] does I marvel at the thought that there is more than the eye can see.

[00:03:41] This next experience comes to us from Jesse, and Jesse's story is called Poltergeist Fatal

[00:03:49] Attraction.

[00:03:51] Jesse says

[00:03:52] Hi Nick, I reside in Honolulu, Hawaii.

[00:03:56] I love listening to your podcast as I work graveyard security for a residential tower.

[00:04:02] I have had quite a few paranormal experiences throughout my life, and I'd like to share

[00:04:06] perhaps the most bizarre one with your audience.

[00:04:10] First a little background.

[00:04:12] I grew up mostly in a Catholic household in Hartford, Connecticut, but later in my teenage

[00:04:17] years my parents converted to Christianity.

[00:04:20] I joined the U.S. Navy out of high school to seek adventure, and fortunately I got stationed

[00:04:25] in Hawaii, where I decided to stay after my four years was up.

[00:04:30] This bizarre poltergeist experience occurred about sixteen years ago, and it lasted about

[00:04:35] three days.

[00:04:37] I had moved into a small studio in Chinatown because it's cheap rent, but it was a really

[00:04:41] old apartment building.

[00:04:43] I was working swing shift at the time for an airline catering company, and would get home

[00:04:48] late, usually before midnight.

[00:04:51] This one particular evening when I got home, as I opened the door to my studio and turned

[00:04:56] on the lights, I looked at my bed, and I saw what can only be described as a shadow

[00:05:01] rat running in slow motion across the top of my sheet.

[00:05:05] I thought that I was hallucinating, so I scratched my eyes, and I looked again, only to see

[00:05:11] this shadow rat jump into the wall next to my bed, and then disappear.

[00:05:17] I thought to myself that I must be tired, so I took a hot shower and then played video

[00:05:21] games before going to bed.

[00:05:24] Now as I lay in bed before drifting off to sleep, I started to hear scratching sounds

[00:05:28] coming from within the concrete wall right next to my bed, where the shadow rat had previously

[00:05:34] jumped into.

[00:05:35] The scratching sound was slow and very irritating, which made me angry as I couldn't sleep.

[00:05:40] I decided to put some headphones on and listen to relaxing music.

[00:05:45] I eventually did fall asleep, and I slept peacefully until the next evening.

[00:05:51] On the second night, as I returned home from work, I was stunned by what I saw on the wall

[00:05:56] next to my bed.

[00:05:58] There were three lines of black goo or slime slowly oozing from the middle of my wall.

[00:06:04] I took a closer look after wiping the area with cleaning solution, but there were no

[00:06:09] holes in the wall.

[00:06:11] Then it hit me.

[00:06:12] The shadow rat from the night before must be causing this mysterious black goo somehow.

[00:06:18] I spent most of the night cleaning my wall, which left me feeling upset.

[00:06:22] However, I managed to fall asleep a short time after.

[00:06:25] At least there were no scratching sounds that night.

[00:06:29] As I slept, I had a somewhat romantic dream where I was having a picnic with a beautiful,

[00:06:35] tall, auburn-haired woman.

[00:06:37] This was a woman that I'd never seen before.

[00:06:40] She kissed, and she told me that she was waiting for me on the other side.

[00:06:44] Now when I woke up, I couldn't figure out what she meant by the other side.

[00:06:49] I went to take a shower, and as I looked in the mirror, I was shocked at what I saw.

[00:06:54] I had several red hickeys on both sides of my neck.

[00:06:59] How was this possible?

[00:07:01] I thought the hickeys would wash off as I showered, but to no avail.

[00:07:05] I went to work and was teased by my coworkers who thought that I had a new girlfriend.

[00:07:10] If only they knew the truth, but I couldn't tell them the truth, or they might think I

[00:07:14] was using drugs.

[00:07:16] I felt perplexed throughout the day as I tried to figure out what was happening at home.

[00:07:22] Oddly enough, an answer came in the mail.

[00:07:25] It was a letter from a Catholic priest from another state.

[00:07:29] I opened and read this very revealing letter, which warned me of danger.

[00:07:35] Not only for me physically, but for my soul.

[00:07:39] It was revealed to the priest by the Holy Spirit to contact me regarding a young female

[00:07:43] poltergeist spirit that was tasked to ensnare me into hell.

[00:07:49] Now everything that happened the previous two nights made sense.

[00:07:53] The priest had included a special prayer to the blessed Virgin Mary, along with a church

[00:07:57] relic to be placed next to my bed.

[00:08:01] That evening, I stilled my mind and recited the prayer as I held the church relic.

[00:08:06] I also gave thanks to God for his intervention, as well as the way it happened.

[00:08:11] I went to bed that evening with a feeling of complete peace.

[00:08:15] There were no scratching sounds, nor black goo oozing from the wall.

[00:08:20] And there were no dreams.

[00:08:22] Now the following morning I went walking to the store, and not a few yards in front of

[00:08:26] me, I froze for a couple of seconds, as who I saw walking towards me was the tall auburn

[00:08:32] haired woman from my dream.

[00:08:35] She was walking as if she was very angry.

[00:08:38] Eventually I regained my composure and resumed walking towards her, but as we came within

[00:08:43] a few feet of each other, she turned her head to look away from me, and then she just vanished

[00:08:49] into thin air.

[00:08:51] I knew then and there that the holy prayer had worked, and my soul was safe from hell.

[00:08:58] I never saw her again.

[00:09:04] This next experience comes to us from Mary Ann, and Mary Ann's experience is called

[00:09:10] The Bride.

[00:09:12] Mary Ann says,

[00:09:14] Hello Nick, my daughter Janice and I really like your podcast, and my daughter wanted

[00:09:18] me to tell you about my scariest paranormal experience.

[00:09:23] My husband and I just had Janice, and moved into a bigger home.

[00:09:27] One day my husband and I were watching TV together when I heard someone mumbling to

[00:09:31] themself.

[00:09:33] It wasn't my husband because it was a woman's voice.

[00:09:36] I asked my husband if he heard the mumbling, but he didn't answer because he couldn't hear me.

[00:09:41] It kept creeping closer and closer to me, and then finally it sounded like it was right

[00:09:46] behind me.

[00:09:47] I turned my head, but there was no one there, and the mumbling stopped immediately.

[00:09:53] A few days later I heard someone crying, but it sounded like someone older than Janice.

[00:09:59] That same day someone whispered in my ear,

[00:10:01] You're lucky, but no one was there.

[00:10:06] Another day I came home from work and saw a young woman in a wedding dress sitting on

[00:10:10] our couch, but she disappeared when I tried to get closer to her.

[00:10:14] We had security cameras installed in the house for safety.

[00:10:19] One night we heard Janice crying in the dining room.

[00:10:21] When I went to check on her, she was in her high chair.

[00:10:25] My husband and I then checked our security cameras, and it showed the same young woman

[00:10:29] in the dress taking Janice from her crib and putting her in her high chair.

[00:10:35] After these experiences took place, I talked my husband into moving to another house.

[00:10:42] I reached out to Mary Ann to inquire more about the video of the bride picking up her

[00:10:46] daughter and then placing her in the high chair.

[00:10:49] However, I have yet to hear back from her.

[00:11:34] This next experience comes to us from Richie, and Richie's story is called,

[00:11:40] Black-Eyed Children.

[00:11:42] Richie says,

[00:11:43] One night I was sitting at home watching television with my three cats when I was a victim of

[00:11:48] a phenomenon I never believed in.

[00:11:51] Earlier that day, I had been out with my neighbors swimming and just floating down the river

[00:11:55] on inner tubes.

[00:11:57] We were in the sun all day, and when I got home I took a shower and laid on my couch

[00:12:02] with the air conditioner blasting.

[00:12:04] I was cuddling with my cats and watching a movie.

[00:12:08] Now the way these apartments are set up, there are two big portrait windows in the front

[00:12:12] beside the door, and you can see the front porch from any part of the living room.

[00:12:16] However, I tended to keep my blinds shut because of a creepy, nosy neighbor.

[00:12:21] Well anyway, I was laying there watching a movie considering getting up and getting a

[00:12:25] snack, when I heard a knock on the door.

[00:12:29] It was after 10pm, so I was automatically weary of opening the door, but then there was another

[00:12:35] slightly more aggressive knock.

[00:12:37] All three of my cats hissed and then ran to the back of the kitchen, which is the furthest

[00:12:41] away from the door that you can get.

[00:12:44] Of course, at that hour I have zero trust, so I grabbed my little .380 pistol and I had

[00:12:50] it ready just in case, and I opened the door.

[00:12:54] When I did, my heart sank, and I, who has little fear of the paranormal, was overcome

[00:12:59] by fear and dread.

[00:13:01] I was looking at two black-eyed children.

[00:13:04] I've seen all the paranormal shows about them, and I automatically knew what was up, and

[00:13:09] I refused to open the screen door.

[00:13:12] Standing there was a 16-year-old boy, which was the one who had knocked, and behind him

[00:13:17] was what I assumed was a 12-13 year old girl.

[00:13:21] He was surprisingly polite at first, and saying,

[00:13:24] Good evening sir, I'm sorry to knock this late, but we were driving home from my friend's

[00:13:28] house and my car started acting up.

[00:13:31] I pulled into the parking lot here because I wasn't comfortable driving.

[00:13:35] Unfortunately, I dropped my phone earlier and it's broken.

[00:13:39] Can we please come in and call our parents?

[00:13:42] Now having heard and read about these things, I naturally refused to let them in.

[00:13:47] Admittedly though, I did have the overwhelming feeling like I needed to help them.

[00:13:52] I told them that since it was nice out that night they could sit on my patio and call,

[00:13:57] but that they couldn't come inside.

[00:13:59] This didn't sit too well with the oldest, and he got a little attitude.

[00:14:04] What do you think two kids are going to do to you?

[00:14:06] You need to let us in.

[00:14:09] At this point, maybe forgetting that they were likely paranormal and definitely not

[00:14:13] kids, I made my gun more visible.

[00:14:16] It was then that I said,

[00:14:18] You already have my offer.

[00:14:20] Feel free to leave.

[00:14:21] There's a gas station less than a five minute walk just around the bend.

[00:14:26] With that, a new question came to me, and I asked,

[00:14:29] Why did you come to my apartment anyway?

[00:14:31] I'm on the back side of the building.

[00:14:33] I can't be seen from the street.

[00:14:36] At that moment, one of my neighbors came out to see what all the noise was about, and we

[00:14:40] both watched as these kids seemingly evaporated.

[00:14:45] He and I then met on the sidewalk both in a state of shock because this was his first

[00:14:49] paranormal experience ever, but for me, it was the final realization that I had witnessed

[00:14:55] a phenomenon that I considered to be hoo-ha.

[00:14:59] At this point, I immediately grabbed my sage and cleansed my apartment.

[00:15:03] I then took it outside, and I cleansed the entire row of apartments that they would

[00:15:07] have passed if they had walked.

[00:15:10] I also, as a Wiccan slash witch, cast a protection on my apartment and that of my friends so

[00:15:16] as to hopefully deter this creature from coming back.

[00:15:21] That night, I learned that even if I don't know everything about the paranormal, and even

[00:15:26] the scariest and even most ridiculous claims can very well be true.

[00:15:33] After asking Richie to elaborate on the description of these kids, as well as the city in which

[00:15:38] this occurred, he had this to say.

[00:15:41] This occurred in Belleville, Ohio.

[00:15:43] It's a village in central Ohio.

[00:15:45] Like I said, the boy was 16 and the girl was 12-13.

[00:15:49] Both of the kids were dressed in 90s kind of clothes.

[00:15:53] The closest I can describe what the boy was wearing was like Will Smith in one of the

[00:15:57] Fresh Prince promos, and the girl was wearing an outfit kind of like Alicia Silverstone

[00:16:02] in Clueless.

[00:16:03] I can't remember too much of exactly what they looked like.

[00:16:07] I just remember the 90s clothing because I'm a 90s baby.

[00:16:11] But it was those black eyes that told me immediately what I was dealing with.

[00:16:16] I do remember the boy was probably about my height, so about 5'10 or 5'11, and the girl

[00:16:22] may have been 5' tall.

[00:16:24] As for the skin color, I really don't remember that too much.

[00:16:28] That experience really did teach me that sometimes having knowledge of the paranormal, whether

[00:16:32] you believe in a phenomenon or not, can really come in handy, saving your backside.

[00:16:56] Our next experience of the night comes to us from Sophie, and Sophie's experience is

[00:17:01] called Small Experiences.

[00:17:06] Sophie says,

[00:17:07] Hi Nick, I've been listening for a couple of years now, and I love hearing paranormal

[00:17:11] stories so I thought I'd finally talk about some of my own.

[00:17:15] I have lived in England my whole life, and I am now 18, but have never had any major

[00:17:20] experiences, despite having an obsession with the paranormal ever since I was little.

[00:17:25] I have had some small instances that are odd though, so I thought I'd share.

[00:17:31] Firstly, I remember the house I grew up in always had a strange feeling about it.

[00:17:36] Since I was little, I have been able to feel energy of certain places whenever I enter.

[00:17:41] I'm not sure how else to explain it, but I can just get very bad feelings about places.

[00:17:47] So every night in this house I just remember always hearing the kitchen light switch going

[00:17:51] on and off constantly.

[00:17:54] Now nothing else really memorable happened there, but recently I was talking to my older

[00:17:58] brother about experiences and this house, and he told me that every night he would go

[00:18:03] downstairs with a bat in hand because he genuinely would hear people down there, yet nobody was

[00:18:09] ever there.

[00:18:11] This freaked me out a lot, but I am glad I wasn't alone in thinking that the house was odd.

[00:18:17] Secondly, my dreams have always been very vivid, however over the years they have stopped.

[00:18:23] They did get so violent though that I started taking notes of every one I had, because

[00:18:28] they may have some significance.

[00:18:31] One night I was asleep on my brother's couch when I suddenly woke up, but I was still half

[00:18:36] asleep.

[00:18:37] I was almost in a sleep paralysis state which I had never experienced before, and a huge

[00:18:42] tall figure appeared next to me.

[00:18:45] I could literally feel it whispering, no, into my ear.

[00:18:50] I couldn't move or speak.

[00:18:52] It was horrible.

[00:18:53] That was the worst that my dreams ever got, and who knows if it was actually a dream,

[00:18:58] because it felt very real.

[00:19:02] That sort of concludes my experiences, but being a spiritual person as well as a witch

[00:19:07] and having used pendulums and ouija boards in the past, it does make me sad almost knowing

[00:19:12] that nothing has really happened.

[00:19:14] I just don't know how to fully connect with the other side I suppose, but I'm wondering

[00:19:19] if anyone else has maybe felt the same, in that they wish that they could experience

[00:19:24] more paranormal things.

[00:19:32] This next experience of the night comes to us from Lyra and Jay.

[00:19:38] And Lyra and Jay's experience is called Terrifying Rental House.

[00:19:44] Hey there, Nick.

[00:19:46] My brother and I have been listening to your podcast, and we really enjoy it.

[00:19:50] While we have been listening, we have been inspired to share with you some memories from

[00:19:54] when we were younger.

[00:19:55] I was about eight, and my brother Jay was around six.

[00:19:59] In the summer of 2015, we went to a family reunion in a small development in central

[00:20:05] Washington.

[00:20:06] It was a great family reunion, but the house we stayed at and some others nearby were just

[00:20:12] off.

[00:20:13] This rental house that we stayed at was a small and relatively new building with two

[00:20:17] stories, including a basement.

[00:20:20] Us kids stayed in the TV room.

[00:20:23] We had no real problems with the place at first, but it started to get weird when we

[00:20:27] came home late at night.

[00:20:30] The TV room was in the basement, and our sleeping bags were oriented horizontally across it.

[00:20:35] I was positioned at the end of the room, so I needed to step over the others to get

[00:20:39] out.

[00:20:40] My younger cousin, who we'll call Sarah, was sleeping next to me.

[00:20:45] That night, none of us could sleep.

[00:20:47] Shadows danced in our peripheral vision, and an odd green light would come from the doorway.

[00:20:53] Keep this in mind, as it's going to be important later in the story.

[00:20:57] Now eventually I did fall asleep, but I woke up in the middle of the night for no reason.

[00:21:02] I looked up and still saw shadows dancing all around me, some of which took humanoid

[00:21:07] forms.

[00:21:08] For some reason or another, my brain thought,

[00:21:11] Witch lady.

[00:21:13] And when I mentioned this to my brother, his own odd memories surfaced about the shadows.

[00:21:18] I was just a dumb kid, and I began to grow curious about where the green light I mentioned

[00:21:22] earlier was coming from, so I welled up the courage to wake up my cousin Sarah.

[00:21:27] She groggily asked me what I was doing, and I pointed to the green light and said that

[00:21:32] I wanted to know where it came from.

[00:21:34] I then asked her if she wanted to come with me, and for some reason, she agreed.

[00:21:40] So we got out of our sleeping bags and stepped over the others to exit.

[00:21:44] I can also confirm that this was not a dream, because my brother remembers me stepping over

[00:21:48] him.

[00:21:49] We followed the light and realized it led to nothing, but we were thirsty, and we were

[00:21:54] up anyway, so we went upstairs to get some water.

[00:21:58] And this is when it happened.

[00:22:00] A couple lights in the kitchen were on, but we couldn't focus on things like that for

[00:22:04] long.

[00:22:05] At this point, a relentless pounding erupted from the attic.

[00:22:09] I can't describe all the noises I heard, but I can try.

[00:22:14] There was knocking and scraping, almost like a rolling sound.

[00:22:18] Not all of them came from the attic, but some came from the side of the house as well.

[00:22:23] It was a sound that was like a screwdriver coming from outside.

[00:22:27] That was the scariest night of our lives.

[00:22:30] Me and my cousin were so terrified that we hid under the counter in the kitchen, and

[00:22:34] we saw things moving outside the windows, like they were almost floating.

[00:22:39] My cousin was crying, and I was trying to comfort her, but to no avail.

[00:22:43] I don't know how long this terror lasted, but it eventually got to the point where we

[00:22:48] woke up our grandma, and we told her what had happened.

[00:22:52] However, she said that she didn't hear anything, and she told us to go back to bed.

[00:22:57] I'd also like to note that our grandma is not hard of hearing.

[00:23:02] We were so terrified that she had to escort us back to the TV room.

[00:23:08] Now this next part is my brother's experience, and he will be typing this segment.

[00:23:13] Hey there.

[00:23:14] So my experience isn't as cinematic as Lira's, but just as terrifying.

[00:23:20] This happened later, that same night.

[00:23:22] I wanted to get a drink of water, so I found it in me to get out of my sleeping bag, but

[00:23:27] I never made it past the stairs.

[00:23:30] So at the bottom of the stairs was a painting of a street with people and buildings on it.

[00:23:35] The moment I was in front of it ready to go up the stairs, I looked at it, and I regret

[00:23:39] that choice, even now years later.

[00:23:43] It's really hard to describe what happened, but it was like every person, house, and street

[00:23:47] light in that painting turned and then stared at me.

[00:23:52] Let me just tell you that I immediately booked a non-stop flight back to my sleeping bag.

[00:23:58] This last part is written by Lira.

[00:24:02] For a long time after this happened, my brain kind of convinced me that it was all made

[00:24:06] up.

[00:24:07] It wasn't until I discussed it with my brother that I realized that I had had an intense

[00:24:11] paranormal experience.

[00:24:14] Both of us have.
