[00:00:00] Thank you for listening and welcome back. I am your host, Nic Ryan. Tonight's first experience comes to us from Stephanie, and Stephanie's experience is called The Woman in the Mirror. Stephanie says, Hello, I recently discovered your podcast and have been enjoying the stories.
[00:00:37] It's nice knowing I am not alone with my experiences. It's important for me to provide background before diving into this experience. I'm a natural born psychic and medium. This is a gift that runs in my family,
[00:00:50] dating back to my maternal great-grandmother, and possibly even further. She taught me how to read the tarot, and my mom is a psychic, and my sister and her daughter are psychic too.
[00:01:01] I live a normal life and do not profit off my gift. In fact, only a handful of people know this about me. I have a family and work full-time in the cyber industry. If people at my work knew
[00:01:12] this about me, they'd probably question my sanity. I've grown up seeing and sensing spirits and energies. Unfortunately, I've been visited by spirits, demons, and shadow figures my entire life, but I've also had beautiful experiences too. Back in 2017, my family and I traveled to
[00:01:32] Peru for vacation and to visit family. We rented an Airbnb in Miraflores, Lima. It was newly renovated and quite nice, but there was something off about the energy in the rental. One night,
[00:01:44] I had what I call an out-of-body experience while I was sleeping. This is similar to lucid dreaming, but for me, when this usually happens, a spirit is trying to contact me, and I can't quite control
[00:01:55] what's happening to my surroundings or my body. It takes a lot of energy for me to stop the experience, and sometimes I just have to go with it or pray it away. In this experience, I was
[00:02:07] forcibly lifted out of the bed I was sleeping in. I felt like I was walking through the rental. I felt the cold wooden floors under my feet, and the entire place was freezing cold.
[00:02:17] Something was guiding me to walk back into the foyer where there was a large mirror that hung on the wall with a small table underneath it. My sister had her makeup bag on that table,
[00:02:28] and I remember her putting her makeup on earlier that day. Anyway, when I was walking up to the mirror, I just knew that a woman wanted to talk to me. I was trying to look away from the mirror,
[00:02:39] afraid of what I might see. I then saw a floating lipstick, and it was writing on the mirror in Spanish, and I forced myself to wake up. I was disoriented when I woke up and truly felt like
[00:02:50] I had been walking around the house earlier. A few days passed, and my niece who was 13 at the time was in the master bedroom with my mom. My mom was in the bathroom, and they were talking to
[00:03:02] each other. That's when my niece was frightened because she felt like someone pushed her in the back. She yelled for my mom to come out of the bathroom, and luckily my mom believed her. I found
[00:03:11] out about it once I came out of the other room. That's when I told my mom about the experience I had the other night, and my mom then proceeded to tell me that she had the exact same dream
[00:03:21] where she was forcibly lifted out of her bed and guided to walk toward the mirror, and she felt like a woman wanted to communicate with her. Later during our trip, my cousin who
[00:03:32] lives in Peru asked us where we were staying. We told him the neighborhood that we rented the Airbnb from, and he proceeded to tell us that a few years ago, that entire block was bombed,
[00:03:42] and many people died. The building where my Airbnb was was a part of that bombing, and the rental was newly renovated from that bombing. In fact, that was the reason why the
[00:03:52] elevator wasn't working yet in that building. So once I learned that a spirit was trying to ask for help, later that night I told the spirit that she was free to go, and she didn't need
[00:04:03] to ask us for help. The door is open, and she can leave in peace. We didn't feel anything else after that. Best regards, Stephanie. Our next experience comes to us from Vin, and Vin's experience is
[00:04:23] called The Grandfather Clock. Hi Nick, I'm from Arkansas, and I'm currently 21 years old. I only recently found your podcast, and I was immediately fascinated. It's really nice to hear that other people have experiences similar to mine. I felt compelled to share the stories of
[00:04:40] paranormal experiences that I've had in my life, mostly throughout my childhood. I've had so many that it's hard to keep count, honestly, but there are a few experiences that really stand out and
[00:04:50] have always preoccupied a portion of my mind. I will send them in one at a time, and ideally share them by the order of the age I experience them, from youngest to oldest. In this story, I am 4
[00:05:02] or 5 years old. It is 2005 or 2006. At this time, my mother and I lived with her parents in their home in Opella, Arkansas. We had moved in only a few months earlier so that my grandparents could
[00:05:15] help my mother care for me. The home was a small 3-bedroom house with a large fenced-in backyard, and a front yard rather close to the main road. When you first walk into the house, you enter a
[00:05:26] modest living room. Walking straight forward, you pass a hallway and enter a dining room that barely had enough room for a dinner table, with the kitchen to the left divided by a small island.
[00:05:37] Now, if you backtrack, so standing in the living room as if you just first walked into the front door, there was a long hallway to the left. This is where the one bathroom and three bedrooms were
[00:05:47] located. Two bedrooms on the left, the one closest to the living room being mine, and the one further down the hall at the end was my grandparents'. Almost directly across the hall from my bedroom
[00:05:58] was the single bathroom in the house. Finally, across the hall from my grandparents' bedroom was my mother's. At the end of the hall in the center was a full-body mirror. I'd like to add
[00:06:10] that my family does believe in the paranormal, or at least some of them do. My mother claims that she has seen ghosts herself as a child, and various other members have had their own experiences as
[00:06:20] well, such as predicting bad events before they happen to other family members, as well as receiving visits from recently dead family members. When we first started living in the house, I did see full apparitions of people occasionally for brief instances. Shadow people peering at me from around
[00:06:37] corners or doorways randomly. Less often, I would hear people talking in the house that weren't my family members. I would go towards the voices and find only empty rooms. I would also hear children
[00:06:48] laughing and playing together, which didn't scare me at all. It actually made me jealous and a bit annoyed that they were playing, making it known to me, but not including me. Later, I would regret
[00:06:58] wanting to play with them, but that's a different story entirely. Another thing that I experienced and did actually tell adults about was knocking and rustling in the walls. My family insisted to
[00:07:11] me that it was probably animals in the attic, but I insisted that it was people in the walls. I know that this sounds like a lot of activity, but these instances weren't happening all at once
[00:07:21] or consecutively, but rather over time, few and far between. Now to the main story. My mother and I came home one afternoon to find that my grandparents had bought a new accessory for the living room, a gorgeous grandfather clock. It had three glass shelves below the actual clock
[00:07:40] part and the shelves had a mirror backing. They placed this grandfather clock against the wall at the opposite end of the hallway, so the end of the hall that opened up into the living room
[00:07:50] now had the grandfather clock and facing the clock at the other end of the hall was the full body mirror. The activity in the house picked up soon after. I would frequently complain about the
[00:08:01] house being loud. I didn't know how else to describe it. It just felt cluttered with people and sound. I don't quite remember how long it took me to start seeing more ghosts on a regular basis,
[00:08:12] but I do distinctly recall when I first encountered the ghosts coming out of the full body mirror for the first time. It was midday and either I didn't have school like it was the weekend or I
[00:08:24] just hadn't gone that day. I'm not fully sure. I had been playing in my bedroom for a long time and was getting up to ask for a snack. I was kind of in my own little world, so as I began to blunder
[00:08:35] out of my bedroom, I almost didn't notice that there were people in the hallway. I stopped at my doorway to better examine them. My first thought was, oh, these are my family members,
[00:08:47] but as my eyes focused on them, I quickly realized that I had never seen these people before. I immediately moved backwards a few steps and further into my bedroom. I felt my entire body
[00:08:58] tense up as my heartbeat quickened. I was terrified and immediately began crying and yelling for help. The people in the hallway did not seem phased by this at all. Either they couldn't hear or see me,
[00:09:10] or they didn't care what I was doing. Now, these people would emerge from the full body mirror with a completely neutral facial expression. Then they would float downward but remained an inch or two off the floor and float down the hall, disappearing directly into the grandfather clock. Sometimes
[00:09:27] they would turn and look at me briefly, maintaining their neutral facial expression, and then turning back to face forward. Their ages varied from young adults to seniors, and occasionally an adult would have a child with them. The children usually looked just as scared
[00:09:42] as I was whenever we made eye contact. Sometimes the people's clothing looked strange, but I now understand that it was because their clothes were vintage. But back to the current moment and the first time I noticed them. My mother came to my aid in my bedroom. Through panicked
[00:09:59] tears, I told her what I was seeing to the best of my ability. She then scooped me up and brought me into the kitchen with the rest of my family, and she set me down on the kitchen island. Once
[00:10:09] I had calmed down, she prompted me to retell my story to my grandparents. So I did. When I was finished, they all exchanged concerned glances and they spoke amongst themselves. I wasn't fully
[00:10:20] paying attention to them, as I was still rather upset about the new people in the hall. Eventually they directed their attention to me and essentially told me that seeing ghosts is normal in our family
[00:10:32] and that this is your life now. This definitely isn't exactly what was said, but it is how I interpreted it and what I remember feeling like they said. Over time, I did sort of get used to
[00:10:43] navigating around the people in the hall. Often someone in my family would call me to the kitchen from the living room. I would have to check the hallway first, and if there were people in the
[00:10:53] hall, I refused to cross the hall without being held. So I would respond, no, I can't right now, the people are here. My mom would then come to pick me up and carry me across the hall.
[00:11:05] It was met with some protest at first, but eventually it became the norm. Now the people wouldn't always be around in the day, or if they were, the hall would only have the occasional
[00:11:16] person pass through. At night though, the hall was full at all times, sometimes to the point of the line moving very slowly or not at all. I hated when the line didn't move. It gave the people time
[00:11:28] to look around, to observe their environment, and to notice me. Before the grandfather clock, I had a small plug-in light in my room, and there was one small nightlight in the bathroom so that
[00:11:39] I could navigate easily. The people looked extra scary to me in the dark though, so after the grandfather clock, my closet light had to be on every night, as well as a small light in the
[00:11:50] bathroom. Crossing the line of people was especially out of the question at night. I recall a night where I stood in the doorway of my bedroom for so long calling for someone to help me cross the hall
[00:12:01] that I wasn't able to hold it anymore, and I peed my pants right there in the doorway. The amount of fear and distress from that night was so intense. After my mother did finally wake
[00:12:12] up to me standing in the doorway, sobbing and standing in a puddle, she began taking my fear of the hallway people a tad more seriously, which I was grateful for. None of the hallway people
[00:12:23] ever spoke to me that I can recall, but they did occasionally speak amongst themselves. A few of them did wave, one of those few being a child. Some of them would smile at me too. I'm sure
[00:12:35] they were all well-meaning, but I was a shy kid and nervous around strangers. I don't think I fully understood the concept of real physical people versus non-physical apparition people at the time, so I was less scared that they were ghosts and more scared because they were strangers
[00:12:50] in my house. I have more stories from this house and more stories in general that I would be glad to write out if that is something that you'd be interested in. Please let me know if you have any
[00:13:02] questions, and thank you for taking the time to read this. Our next experience comes to us from Betty, and Betty says, Hi Nick, I hope this email finds you well. I've recently come across your
[00:13:17] podcast and immediately binged listen to the episodes. I've had paranormal experiences throughout my life, but I've always been super skeptical and determined to ignore the paranormal. That is until one incident in 1998. Before I tell you what happened that night though,
[00:13:34] here's some background information. In the summer of 1995, I met my ex-boyfriend whose grandfather died unexpectedly shortly after we became a couple. So, I never met his grandpa, and there were no pictures of him in the first few years following his death. His passing hurt the family
[00:13:50] too much, so they could hardly endure seeing pictures of him. Now, fast forward to that night in 1998. I woke up, and I saw an old man standing in the door to our bedroom. I immediately knew that it was
[00:14:03] my ex-boyfriend's grandpa. He let me know that he came here to make sure his favorite grandson was doing fine, so he could pass into the light. I went back to sleep, and the next morning I told my
[00:14:15] ex about this quote-unquote dream and trying to laugh it off. I mean, how could I have known that it was his grandpa without ever seeing him? My ex asked me to describe the man, and he went pale when
[00:14:26] I did. He then called his cousin to ask if we could come around so they could show me pictures of their grandpa, and I was completely stunned when I saw the picture. We told my ex-boyfriend's cousin about
[00:14:37] my dream, and when she asked me about his clothes, the color drained from her face. The clothes that I described were exactly those he passed away in. This experience turned my world upside down, and I could no longer ignore that spirits exist, and that there is an afterlife.
[00:14:57] Another encounter with a deceased happened in 2012 when my ex and I moved into a house. It all began when we started renovating the house. We saw shadows in our peripheral vision,
[00:15:08] and in the beginning I mistook the shadow for my ex. I asked him a question and followed him when he didn't answer me. However, my ex wasn't there. He had been outside to get something from his car,
[00:15:19] but I shrugged it off and I resumed my work. This happened a few times to both of us. A few weeks later, we eventually moved in, and at night we always heard knocking and banging
[00:15:31] noises which didn't bother us much, but we jokingly asked the dead people in the walls to be quiet so we could sleep. One night I woke up to find a man with a walker standing next to my bed.
[00:15:42] He was furious and he couldn't understand what we were doing in his house. I then tried to calm him down by explaining that he had passed away a few years ago, and that now we own the house.
[00:15:52] I assured him that we would look after his house the best we could. Since he didn't know how to cross over, I suggested to him that he visit me in our psychic development circle where we would
[00:16:03] help him go into the light. I never thought that he would come again, and I started telling myself that it was just a dream. However, he actually did visit us, just as impatient and insistent
[00:16:13] as I got to know him a few nights before, and we eventually helped him cross over. A few weeks later, I met our neighbor and asked her if she had known the late house builder.
[00:16:24] She described him as a recluse with a temper who had to use a cane or a walker in his last years. It was the exact description of the man that I had seen. As soon as he had gone into the light,
[00:16:37] the banging and knocking at night stopped. Thanks for giving us a platform to share our experiences. Love your podcast. Betty Before I continue, please consider showing your support by subscribing, sharing, and giving the podcast a positive review. You can also visit me on Patreon,

[00:17:35] and Mary's encounter is called Third Roommate. Mary says, Hi Nick, I'm a new listener and have been searching for a new paranormal podcast to listen to, and thanks to Amazon Music, I found yours. I am thankful that you have so many episodes. I have experienced many paranormal
[00:17:54] encounters throughout my lifetime, and I decided to share my story from graduate school. If you want any additional stories, I am happy to share. In my second year of graduate school, my roommate and I rented a two-story apartment where we had a second floor and an attic. The
[00:18:11] house was remodeled, so it was two units and my bedroom was in the attic since I was a student and I needed the privacy to study, and my roommate didn't. To get to the attic, you had
[00:18:21] to pass through the bathroom, and this is an important detail to remember. My roommate and I had very different schedules, so I spent a lot of time alone. I'm not sure how long after we
[00:18:31] moved in that things started happening, but it began with the cabinet doors opening slowly, or things not being where you left them, like keys or even silverware. However, we wrote it off as forgetfulness, and the house just being old. However, my room started to get
[00:18:47] very cold, noticeably cold, enough that I needed a space heater to keep warm. I went to school in Pittsburgh, so it does get cold during the winter and fall, and I lived in the attic,
[00:18:57] so I wrote this off as well. However, around four months after we moved in, I noticed a tall shadow figure in my room when I would watch TV before bed. It never felt malevolent, but it was unsettling nevertheless. I eventually added that to the list of things to
[00:19:13] ignore that were happening in the apartment. One day while watching TV in the living room, my roommate yelled at me from the bathroom while she was getting a shower. I walked in and asked
[00:19:24] what she wanted, and she told me to stop hitting the curtain while walking past. I told her that I was in the living room and that I didn't go past. She then told me that she heard me come
[00:19:34] down the stairs and the shower curtain moved abruptly like I hit it. It really freaked her out, and I then told her about the shadow figure in my room. At this point, we decided to do some
[00:19:45] research about the house. We learned that an elderly man died in the house prior to the remodel. After we did some research and learned this, the activity amped up. I would be alone and hear
[00:19:56] footsteps going up and down the stairs to the attic, and there was pacing between the rooms I turned into a study and my bedroom while I was home alone, which was most of the time. Stuff
[00:20:07] would be relocated between the kitchen and living room overnight. I also had a cold spot where my bed was, and the shadow figure made itself present every night moving forward. I assume it was the
[00:20:18] elderly man continuing to live in the house that he died in, and the remodel upset him, but he never tried to do us harm. We finished out the lease, and I graduated and moved away from the city,
[00:20:30] but it was the most paranormal activity I've ever experienced in one place. Our next experience comes to us from Brian, and Brian says, Hello Nick, I just started listening to your podcast today. I find it very interesting,
[00:20:48] and I will continue to listen to it for the foreseeable future. If you have the time, I would like to tell you about my paranormal experience. It was August of 2012, and I was
[00:20:59] 17 years old at the time. My mother and I used to have a tradition where we would go camping for the weekend before the school year started. We stayed at a campsite near Ricketts Glen State
[00:21:09] Park in Pennsylvania. On our first night there, after getting camp set up and having dinner, it was starting to get dark, and the stars were coming out. Grabbing a flashlight,
[00:21:20] I told my mother that I was going to the nearby lake to stargaze. I managed to find a log to sit on near the water's edge. I was there for maybe 10 minutes looking around, when I heard a very
[00:21:31] distinct whispering sound. I couldn't tell what the voice said, but it seemed to be coming from behind me, yet everywhere around me at the same time. I thought that I was being pranked, so I
[00:21:41] turned on my flashlight and I shined it around, but I didn't see anyone. Feeling pretty creeped out, I got up and went back to the site where I told my mom about what had happened. She believed me and thought that it was very creepy.
[00:21:55] The next day, I found myself talking to a park ranger, and I told her about what happened. She said that I wasn't the first person to report something like that. She said that at one point in
[00:22:05] time, there was a family that lived along the lake, yet one winter they all drowned in the lake when the couple's son tried to go ice skating and fell through the ice. The parents both tried
[00:22:15] to save him, yet they fell in too. Other people have reported hearing whispers, footsteps, even seeing lights in the lake. However, when they get to where the lights are, they're gone. I hope you found my entry somewhat interesting. Take care, and I look forward to listening to
[00:22:34] more of your content. Friendly regards, Brian Our next experience comes to us from Johnny, and Johnny's experience is called Am I haunted? Johnny says Hi Nick, I stumbled upon your podcast a few months ago while looking for a new
[00:22:54] conspiracy theory podcast, and I'm glad I did. Thank you for all that you do. Ever since I was a child, I've had nightmares. But about 12 years ago, I developed severe night terrors, mostly involving my death. But every single nightmare started the same way. I would
[00:23:10] sleep soundly for about an hour, but then I would be abruptly woken up by some unknown force, and there would be a girl, standing about 5 feet from my bed. She always stands to the right of
[00:23:21] where I'm sleeping, and she stares at me. I don't know why, but that's just how it is. After noticing her presence, I would start to sweat and feel a fear unlike anything I've ever experienced before. The night terrors would then occur immediately, almost like a video of someone
[00:23:38] hallucinating on acid. The girl never says or does anything, but she's always there. She isn't shadowy. She has long black hair hanging on the sides of her face, so you can still see her
[00:23:49] expression. She wears a white dress with white shoes, though it appears to be somewhat dirty. I've only seen her open her mouth once, and she muttered something, but I couldn't make out the
[00:24:00] words. The only time I've ever told anyone about this was before this last incident. I was in the basement alone playing video games with some good friends via Xbox Live, and they kept asking me if
[00:24:11] my niece was at the house. After telling them that she wasn't, they told me that they could hear a little girl laughing and talking, and they could hear her clearly, as if she was wearing my headset.
[00:24:22] What is this? It's not the only spirit following me. There are about seven that I know of, but none of them are as active as this one, and none of them scare me like she does. Now here's the crazier part. I work in the live event industry,
[00:24:37] handling concerts and festivals. A few months ago while I was at work, a co-worker stopped me and asked me who the passengers in my car were. I of course said that there weren't any, but when I
[00:24:48] turned around to look, I saw seven people in my car. Terrified, I asked him if he really saw them, and he responded with a solid, yeah. Since then, he quit his job, and now I see these people all
[00:25:01] over the place. I've always felt spirits at home, but never felt it outside my house. Now I see them every day. None of them are violent, but still. Am I haunted, or is this something else? I'm 35 now,
[00:25:16] and it's been about a year since I've dealt with them. I worked night shift in the beginning of 2023 just for a few months to help clear some shows from the warehouse. We had two of our drivers
[00:25:26] coming in late to drop off trucks. At one point, her and I were just BSing about work when a road case fell off the second shelf. Now these cases, when full of lighting fixtures, can weigh about
[00:25:38] 200 pounds, so it takes a lot of effort to do this. We both watched it happen, and when I turned to confirm what she saw, her face was pale. She told me that she was sensitive to the paranormal,
[00:25:49] and when I asked what she saw that scared her, she said this. I then finished her sentence with, She then nodded her head. Shortly after this, her husband, who was our other driver, walked in,
[00:26:14] and he asked if she was ready to go. They then left, and once again, I was alone. Since that night, the activity has died down significantly. My managers watched the camera footage from that night, and they just assumed that the case wasn't fully sitting on the shelf,
[00:26:30] and they chalked it up to someone not paying attention to what they were doing. I still feel the eyes on me when I'm home alone. But it's not as intense. I hope you all enjoyed tonight's episode, and before I go, I'd like to thank Stephanie,
[00:26:48] Vin, Betty, Mary, Brian, and Johnny for coming forward with their experiences. And if you'd like to share your paranormal encounter or learn more about supporting the show, you can find all my contact and support information in the show notes, and at paranormalmysteriespodcast.com.
[00:27:07] Until next time, thank you so much for listening, and please remember, don't wait for the unknown to come to you. Get out there and find it.
