[00:00:15] Thank you for joining me and welcome. I am your host, Nick Ryan. Tonight's episode is brought to you by my newest supporters, Maury, Natasha, Karen, Stephanie, Jen, and Daniel. Thank you for making the show possible.
[00:00:35] Our first experience of the night comes to us from Daphne, and Daphne's story is called, Strange Daylight.
[00:00:45] Daphne says,
[00:00:47] Hi Nick, I found your podcast a few weeks ago, and I enjoy hearing about everyone's experiences.
[00:00:52] I keep waiting to hear about one that was like mine, but so far nothing is like it, so I've decided to finally share it, after 35 years of keeping it a secret, in the hopes of someone else being able to relate something that was similar.
[00:01:07] It was roughly 1989, when I was around 15 or so in a small coastal town in Newfoundland, Canada.
[00:01:15] Our house sat high on a hill overlooking the rest of the harbor, and was maybe a mile down past other houses, where there were no streetlights until you got to our driveway.
[00:01:24] It was total darkness between the last house and ours, and it was a pretty spooky walk alone at night.
[00:01:31] The road was very narrow and surrounded on both sides by tall spruce and evergreen trees, as well as brush.
[00:01:39] On this particular night, I was walking home, pushing my bike up the hill in the dark, as usual, and I noticed that the night had gotten very still.
[00:01:47] I couldn't even hear the sounds of cars from across the harbor, or the wind in the trees.
[00:01:53] At the same time, an area all around me with a diameter of maybe 20 feet or so was lit up, like it was daytime.
[00:02:01] I remember stopping in my tracks and looking up to see if there was a search and rescue chopper, or something with a spotlight on me,
[00:02:08] but I never did find any source for the light, and again, there was zero sound.
[00:02:14] The air was thick feeling, but there was no fog. It was crisp and clear.
[00:02:19] You'd think that I would have been afraid, but I just continued making my way home up the hill,
[00:02:24] and the quote-unquote daylight continued on with me, until I crested the hill by our house, and was in range of the streetlight.
[00:02:32] When I got to our driveway, I turned and looked around me, and I noticed that the strange light was now gone.
[00:02:39] It was as though something had purposely lit my way home, kind of like it knew that I was scared in the dark.
[00:02:47] It only happened that one time, and never again. I didn't ever tell anyone about it.
[00:02:53] Honestly, I always feared the disbelief and the ridicule.
[00:02:56] I would love to hear any ideas about what the light could have been,
[00:02:59] or if any of your other listeners have experienced anything similar.
[00:03:04] I thank you for your time, and I appreciate your work.
[00:03:13] Our next experience of the night comes to us from Matt, and Matt's experience is called
[00:03:18] The Client's Son.
[00:03:22] Matt says,
[00:03:23] Hi Nick, I'm so glad I found your podcast. It's fascinating, and makes my lengthy commutes enjoyable.
[00:03:30] These events occurred about 20 years ago, when my then-fiancée, and now-wife, moved from Central Florida
[00:03:37] up to Destin, Florida, and this was when I took a job with a group of radio stations.
[00:03:43] My job at the radio station was to sell advertising, or commercial spot times.
[00:03:48] When we first moved to town, we rented a very nice apartment in Destin,
[00:03:52] but we started looking for houses to buy and found a run-down house in the neighboring town of Fort Walton Beach.
[00:03:58] My wife wasn't really excited about the house I found, because it needed some significant TLC,
[00:04:04] but we put a low bid on it, and we wound up buying the place.
[00:04:08] The house was split level and had a massive pool in the backyard.
[00:04:12] It did take some vision, but we could see how this was going to be a great house.
[00:04:17] Now, a few weeks before we were going to close on the house,
[00:04:20] we requested another walkthrough, and were shocked to find a younger guy, about 19,
[00:04:25] and a girl that was about 18, living in the house.
[00:04:28] As we had been told that it was vacant.
[00:04:30] They weren't there on the first several tours of the house that we had taken.
[00:04:34] However, our realtor assured us that they would be moved out, by closing.
[00:04:40] The closing date came, and those two were out of the house,
[00:04:43] but it was pretty evident that this was going to be a ton of work.
[00:04:46] I would go over to the house after work.
[00:04:49] I worked close to the house, while my fiancé was at the apartment.
[00:04:53] I would spend hours over at this house by myself working.
[00:04:56] I always felt somewhat uncomfortable in the bottom part of the house,
[00:05:00] where there was a bathroom, a large living area, and a bedroom.
[00:05:04] I would just get the feeling of being observed,
[00:05:06] but I chalked it up to there being no blinds or curtains on the windows,
[00:05:10] and I thought that maybe a neighbor might be looking in.
[00:05:14] As I mentioned, my job at the radio station required me to go out and meet with clients
[00:05:19] that wanted to advertise their businesses on the airwaves.
[00:05:22] When leads would come in,
[00:05:24] they would be given to whichever rep was, quote-unquote,
[00:05:27] up for a lead.
[00:05:28] I got a lead to go and meet with a couple of business owners that ran a business out of their house,
[00:05:33] so I go to meet with the husband, Anthony, and the wife, Susan.
[00:05:37] Their adult son was also there.
[00:05:40] We met and talked about their business, and we had a great conversation.
[00:05:43] We wound up doing some business together and building a bit of a friendship,
[00:05:47] and I wound up meeting with them multiple times at their home.
[00:05:51] Meanwhile, my wife, our dog, and I had moved into our new home.
[00:05:55] My older brother also moved in with us, and he lived on the bottom floor.
[00:06:00] It wasn't long after we moved in that weird stuff started happening,
[00:06:05] but I always thought that it was just my brother messing with me,
[00:06:08] and later he would tell me that he thought that I was messing with him.
[00:06:13] For instance, the kitchen had a bunch of cabinets,
[00:06:16] and they would all be open in the morning several times a week.
[00:06:19] All the doors would be wide open.
[00:06:21] One instance that really got to me was when I came home from work one evening,
[00:06:25] and my childhood teddy bear, Tank, was sitting on the steps upright.
[00:06:30] Our dog, Sadie, loved to destroy stuffed animals,
[00:06:33] so I was rather annoyed that my brother would mess with Tank.
[00:06:36] Tank had been on a shelf in the top of the guest room closet,
[00:06:40] which was on the top floor, in the guest bedroom.
[00:06:43] Now, Sadie wouldn't go near the stairs, and her ears were back.
[00:06:46] She was whining, and it really freaked me out,
[00:06:49] so much so that my cheeks were flushed,
[00:06:51] and the hair was standing up on the back of my neck.
[00:06:54] I had never seen her act like that before.
[00:06:57] When my brother came home, I tore into him about doing that.
[00:07:01] However, he was very confused as to what I was talking about.
[00:07:04] I also laid into him about opening the cabinets at night.
[00:07:08] He said that he thought that I was doing that for some reason.
[00:07:11] It was then that we realized that it wasn't either of us messing with each other.
[00:07:16] That weekend, my brother had his girlfriend Jackie over at the house.
[00:07:20] They were both down in his bedroom watching TV,
[00:07:23] when the fan light kept coming on and off, rhythmically.
[00:07:26] I heard my brother call up to me from downstairs,
[00:07:29] and I was up in the office on the top floor.
[00:07:31] I yelled back down at him, asking what he wanted.
[00:07:34] And he said,
[00:07:35] Is that you?
[00:07:36] And I said,
[00:07:38] Is that me what?
[00:07:39] He wanted to know if I was messing with the fan light.
[00:07:42] But I wasn't.
[00:07:44] The switch was on,
[00:07:45] but the light was turning on and off from the pull chain,
[00:07:48] and you could actually hear the pull chain yanking up and down by itself.
[00:07:53] Jackie then screamed and ran upstairs,
[00:07:55] and she left shortly after.
[00:07:57] My brother was freaked out.
[00:08:00] About a week later,
[00:08:01] I got a piece of mail at my house.
[00:08:04] It was sent to my address,
[00:08:05] but the name on the envelope was that of my client from work,
[00:08:09] Anthony.
[00:08:10] I thought that was really weird that something would come to my house for him,
[00:08:14] especially since I had never told him where I lived.
[00:08:17] So I put it in my briefcase to bring to him the next time that we met.
[00:08:21] A few days later,
[00:08:22] I set up a meeting to come by and talk to them about some business.
[00:08:26] Toward the end of our meeting,
[00:08:27] I said,
[00:08:28] Oh yeah,
[00:08:29] by the way,
[00:08:29] I don't know why this happened,
[00:08:31] but I got your mail sent to my house.
[00:08:33] I pulled out the envelope and I gave it to Anthony.
[00:08:36] Susan came over to see what it was.
[00:08:39] He looked at the address and shook his head.
[00:08:41] He said,
[00:08:43] This is your address?
[00:08:44] You live there?
[00:08:46] I then said,
[00:08:47] Yeah,
[00:08:47] why?
[00:08:48] He then opened the envelope,
[00:08:50] and he hung his head.
[00:08:52] His wife asked what it was,
[00:08:54] and he showed her.
[00:08:55] It was a death certificate.
[00:08:57] They both started bawling and wailing.
[00:09:00] I was confused and not quite sure what to do or say.
[00:09:04] Their older child then came into the room to see what was going on,
[00:09:07] and they showed him,
[00:09:08] and he joined in on the wailing.
[00:09:10] I just sat there.
[00:09:13] Anthony finally pulled himself together enough to tell me that this was the death certificate
[00:09:17] of their younger son.
[00:09:19] He had lived in that house,
[00:09:21] my house,
[00:09:22] with his girlfriend and best friend.
[00:09:24] He was taking college classes in Pensacola,
[00:09:27] about an hour away.
[00:09:29] One night,
[00:09:30] he left for school and forgot one of his books.
[00:09:33] He turned around and came back to the house,
[00:09:35] only to find his girlfriend and best friend getting way too friendly.
[00:09:39] He found out that they had been seeing each other behind his back.
[00:09:43] He took his own life,
[00:09:44] a few days later,
[00:09:45] in the bottom room of the house.
[00:09:48] My jaw dropped.
[00:09:49] I just sat there saying,
[00:09:51] I'm sorry,
[00:09:52] for about five minutes.
[00:09:54] We then hugged,
[00:09:55] and they didn't hold any ill will toward me.
[00:09:57] I was literally the messenger.
[00:10:00] I then put two and two together.
[00:10:02] The young guy and the young woman that were in the house prior to us closing on it
[00:10:06] were the girlfriend and the best friend.
[00:10:09] We wound up moving back to central Florida,
[00:10:12] but my brother stayed there while the house was put back on the market.
[00:10:15] My brother said the cabinet thing kept happening,
[00:10:18] and he didn't like being there by himself,
[00:10:20] so he moved in with his girlfriend about two weeks,
[00:10:23] after we had moved out.
[00:10:25] We eventually sold the house,
[00:10:27] about a month after moving out of it.
[00:10:31] Love the show.
[00:10:33] Matt.
[00:10:37] Matt.
[00:10:38] Our next experience of the night comes to us from Goulet.
[00:10:41] And this is their experience.
[00:10:44] Hi Nick.
[00:10:45] I was scrolling through Facebook,
[00:10:47] and found myself on a reel that was talking about
[00:10:49] recycled NPCs,
[00:10:51] and glitches in the matrix.
[00:10:53] However,
[00:10:54] I didn't watch the video because I instantly remembered an experience that I had fairly recently.
[00:10:59] I was on my way to work,
[00:11:01] the same route every day,
[00:11:02] and I exit off the highway and I pull up to the light I need to turn left at.
[00:11:07] Now,
[00:11:07] at this light,
[00:11:08] there are usually homeless people around,
[00:11:10] and there's also usually people walking to their destination along the roads.
[00:11:14] As I turn left at my light,
[00:11:17] I notice a man in his early 20s.
[00:11:19] Dark skin,
[00:11:20] big poofy hair with tight coily curls,
[00:11:23] black pants,
[00:11:24] white shirt,
[00:11:25] and a black jean jacket thrown over his left shoulder.
[00:11:28] He was walking in the same direction that I was driving.
[00:11:32] Well,
[00:11:33] I drive past two lights,
[00:11:34] and before I get to another light about a quarter of a mile from where I saw the guy that I just described,
[00:11:40] I see him again,
[00:11:41] but this time,
[00:11:43] he's walking in the opposite direction.
[00:11:45] Same hair,
[00:11:46] same skin tone,
[00:11:47] same white shirt,
[00:11:48] black jeans,
[00:11:49] and the same black jean jacket thrown over the exact same shoulder,
[00:11:53] and he was walking the same as the first time that I saw him.
[00:11:58] Now,
[00:11:58] I believe this same morning was also when I experienced a car disappearing from the lane directly to my left.
[00:12:05] I'm a very cautious driver,
[00:12:07] and I keep my eyes on other vehicles to make sure they don't hit me,
[00:12:10] so it's not unusual for me to always want to know who I'm driving next to.
[00:12:14] This vehicle exited the same exit that I took for work,
[00:12:18] and then slowed down,
[00:12:19] and I didn't see them get behind me or turn onto another street,
[00:12:23] or even take a U-turn.
[00:12:24] They just disappeared from the lane.
[00:12:28] It was a weird morning,
[00:12:30] to say the least.
[00:12:31] Before I continue,

[00:13:09] after these brief messages.
[00:13:15] Our next experience of the night,
[00:13:17] comes to us from Charlesy,
[00:13:19] and Charlesy's experience is called,
[00:13:22] Orange Lights.
[00:13:24] Charlesy says,
[00:13:26] Hi Nick,
[00:13:27] I've been listening to your podcast for almost a year now,
[00:13:29] and thanks to my new job,
[00:13:31] I have been able to catch up on all of them.
[00:13:33] I have been wanting to share my story,
[00:13:35] for a while now.
[00:13:36] I heard a story,
[00:13:38] which I think was from April.
[00:13:40] I can't remember for sure,
[00:13:41] but she saw orange lights,
[00:13:43] and shared pictures in a video.
[00:13:45] As soon as I saw the pictures and video,
[00:13:47] I knew that I had to share my similar experience.
[00:13:49] I am also from Texas.
[00:13:51] I live in a small town in Texas,
[00:13:53] called Baird.
[00:13:54] If anyone is familiar with Texas,
[00:13:56] it is just east of Abilene,
[00:13:58] or two hours west,
[00:13:59] of Dallas.
[00:14:01] My family has always been nighttime sky watchers.
[00:14:04] My granddad would always go out with us,
[00:14:06] and tell us to be quiet,
[00:14:08] and we would see some really cool stuff.
[00:14:10] At that time,
[00:14:11] all we saw were satellites,
[00:14:13] and the occasional shooting star.
[00:14:15] This experience happened after his passing though.
[00:14:18] I want to say it was the summer of 2010,
[00:14:20] or 2011.
[00:14:22] I was still in high school at the time,
[00:14:24] so that is where I'm getting those dates from.
[00:14:27] The first time I saw the orange lights,
[00:14:29] I was outside with my mom.
[00:14:30] I think we were just chatting,
[00:14:33] not really looking for anything.
[00:14:34] All of a sudden,
[00:14:36] I look up to the southeast,
[00:14:37] and I see a bright orange light.
[00:14:39] I tell my mom to look,
[00:14:40] and when she does,
[00:14:42] it slowly fades away.
[00:14:43] Well, then,
[00:14:45] another one pops up and fades out.
[00:14:47] There were maybe three or four of them,
[00:14:49] and I don't remember any pattern.
[00:14:51] Well,
[00:14:52] a few weeks later,
[00:14:53] we were at a family friend's house,
[00:14:55] and they lived only a block from me at the time.
[00:14:57] I think eight of us were out there,
[00:14:59] when the orange lights came back.
[00:15:01] It was exactly the same thing.
[00:15:04] A light would pop up,
[00:15:05] stay for a little bit,
[00:15:06] and then it would fade away.
[00:15:08] My aunt's boyfriend at the time,
[00:15:10] kept trying to say that they were just flares,
[00:15:12] but there was no way it was a flare.
[00:15:14] There was no trail,
[00:15:16] going up to the light.
[00:15:17] The next time I saw them,
[00:15:19] I was actually outside by myself,
[00:15:21] maybe a few days later,
[00:15:22] and the light did the same thing.
[00:15:24] Now,
[00:15:25] what was different with this night,
[00:15:26] is that I saw three little lights,
[00:15:28] that looked like white stars,
[00:15:29] but they were in a triangle pattern,
[00:15:31] and they strobed.
[00:15:33] They were to the south,
[00:15:35] and they moved west to east.
[00:15:37] I saw the orange lights a few more times,
[00:15:39] and even dated a guy,
[00:15:40] who had seen them as well.
[00:15:42] I only saw them a few more times after that,
[00:15:45] and only the one light,
[00:15:47] once.
[00:15:48] The last time I saw a light,
[00:15:50] was when I was pregnant with my daughter.
[00:15:52] I was leaving my mom's apartment to go home.
[00:15:54] It was pretty late,
[00:15:55] and I again looked up,
[00:15:57] just long enough to see one light fade out.
[00:15:59] I rushed back in,
[00:16:01] and I told my mom,
[00:16:02] and I then left.
[00:16:04] I do remember thinking to myself,
[00:16:06] if you are good,
[00:16:07] I would like to see more of you.
[00:16:09] However,
[00:16:10] I have never seen them again,
[00:16:12] but I am always looking.
[00:16:14] Thanks for sharing my story,
[00:16:16] and for sharing all the stories.
[00:16:18] I also have a few little paranormal stories,
[00:16:20] that I may share,
[00:16:21] at a later time.
[00:16:23] They are just not as interesting,
[00:16:25] as the lights.
[00:16:30] Our next experience of the night,
[00:16:32] comes to us from Kristen,
[00:16:34] and Kristen's story is called,
[00:16:37] Doppelganger,
[00:16:37] and the workplace disembodied laugh,
[00:16:40] and yell.
[00:16:43] Kristen says,
[00:16:44] I will start off by saying,
[00:16:46] thank you for having such a great podcast,
[00:16:48] to listen to on my rides to and from work.
[00:16:50] I only just found your podcast,
[00:16:52] a couple of weeks ago,
[00:16:53] and I've been listening through episodes daily.
[00:16:55] It's a great place to share stories,
[00:16:57] and helped me realize,
[00:16:59] that maybe some of the experiences,
[00:17:00] that I've had,
[00:17:01] are not so crazy,
[00:17:03] after all.
[00:17:04] I have three experiences,
[00:17:05] I would like to share,
[00:17:07] that all involve the jobs,
[00:17:08] that I worked at,
[00:17:09] or currently work at.
[00:17:11] I will start by saying,
[00:17:12] that I have worked in dangerous environments,
[00:17:14] if safety is taken seriously,
[00:17:16] or treated as number one.
[00:17:18] People have even passed away,
[00:17:19] at both shops,
[00:17:20] and have even led me to wonder,
[00:17:22] if their passing has led to any,
[00:17:24] of these experiences.
[00:17:25] I will start with the oldest experience,
[00:17:28] first.
[00:17:29] I started working,
[00:17:30] at my first welding job,
[00:17:32] in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania,
[00:17:33] in 2016.
[00:17:35] This experience I had,
[00:17:36] was in 2019,
[00:17:37] on an ordinary day of work.
[00:17:39] I was toward the back corner,
[00:17:41] of a very long warehouse,
[00:17:42] welding.
[00:17:43] When I saw my co-worker,
[00:17:45] walk past me,
[00:17:45] like he was on a mission.
[00:17:47] I turned around to follow him,
[00:17:48] and he walked in front,
[00:17:49] of a large coil of sheet metal,
[00:17:51] where I lost sight of him.
[00:17:53] I will call him,
[00:17:54] Tom.
[00:17:55] I yelled,
[00:17:56] Tom,
[00:17:56] hold on.
[00:17:57] And I walked around the coil,
[00:17:59] realizing that no one was there.
[00:18:01] I looked all around for him,
[00:18:02] but Tom,
[00:18:04] wasn't anywhere.
[00:18:05] This all happened,
[00:18:06] in a time frame,
[00:18:07] of about two minutes,
[00:18:08] or less.
[00:18:09] Then,
[00:18:10] I looked across the shop,
[00:18:11] and clear at the other end,
[00:18:12] of the building,
[00:18:13] I saw Tom,
[00:18:14] working.
[00:18:15] I was baffled,
[00:18:16] because there was no physical way,
[00:18:17] that he could have walked past me again,
[00:18:19] or ran full speed through the shop,
[00:18:21] back to the other end,
[00:18:22] of the building.
[00:18:23] I began to self-doubt,
[00:18:25] and feel crazy,
[00:18:26] that I even thought,
[00:18:27] that I saw him,
[00:18:28] in my work area.
[00:18:30] Now,
[00:18:30] I told this story,
[00:18:31] to a few of the old guys,
[00:18:32] at the shop,
[00:18:33] and they both said,
[00:18:34] oh,
[00:18:35] you saw the doppelganger ghost.
[00:18:37] We have had many experiences here,
[00:18:39] where we have seen someone,
[00:18:40] and realized they were in another location working,
[00:18:43] and we've also had similar stories,
[00:18:45] from other employees.
[00:18:46] Sometimes he walks by,
[00:18:48] as a tall man,
[00:18:49] with ginger hair,
[00:18:50] and beard,
[00:18:50] and we believe,
[00:18:51] he is the same,
[00:18:53] apparition.
[00:18:54] At that point,
[00:18:55] I was even more weirded out,
[00:18:57] that this had happened so many times,
[00:18:59] the veteran workers at the shop,
[00:19:00] call the spirit,
[00:19:01] the doppelganger ghost.
[00:19:03] I will also point out,
[00:19:04] that in the cement floor,
[00:19:06] in this general area,
[00:19:07] while sweeping,
[00:19:08] I uncovered very old scribes,
[00:19:10] in the cement,
[00:19:11] with one having a name and date,
[00:19:13] saying,
[00:19:14] Matt S. died here,
[00:19:16] May 15th,
[00:19:17] 1965.
[00:19:19] The shop was an old mill then,
[00:19:21] and the same co-workers told me,
[00:19:23] that there had been workers,
[00:19:24] who were killed by,
[00:19:25] and on machinery,
[00:19:26] in the years the mill had ran.
[00:19:28] To this day,
[00:19:29] I am still baffled,
[00:19:30] by the whole experience.
[00:19:33] My second story begins,
[00:19:34] at my recent job,
[00:19:36] which also has had workers die at.
[00:19:38] Both workers had passed away,
[00:19:40] from heart attacks,
[00:19:41] in this shop.
[00:19:42] It begins with one morning,
[00:19:44] in Lawrence County,
[00:19:45] Pennsylvania,
[00:19:46] at 4 a.m.
[00:19:47] The year,
[00:19:48] was 2021.
[00:19:50] I had opened up the shop,
[00:19:51] and began turning on the lights,
[00:19:52] when I heard a man,
[00:19:54] laugh.
[00:19:55] Then I heard brief,
[00:19:56] and quick footsteps,
[00:19:57] go around the front,
[00:19:57] of a large shuttle.
[00:19:59] I thought that it was my manager,
[00:20:01] and I said loudly,
[00:20:02] hey Mike,
[00:20:03] quit messing around.
[00:20:04] I then walked over,
[00:20:05] to the shuttle,
[00:20:06] and I realized,
[00:20:07] that nobody was there.
[00:20:08] In fact,
[00:20:09] nobody was at the shop,
[00:20:11] at all.
[00:20:11] I realized this,
[00:20:13] when I peered out,
[00:20:14] of the large overhead doors,
[00:20:15] and I was the only vehicle,
[00:20:16] in the parking lot.
[00:20:18] I got pretty freaked out,
[00:20:20] and then walked away,
[00:20:21] and stayed in the office,
[00:20:22] until my boss arrived.
[00:20:23] I didn't tell anyone,
[00:20:25] about this story,
[00:20:26] until I had a second experience,
[00:20:28] at this same shop.
[00:20:30] I was working late,
[00:20:31] in 2022,
[00:20:32] at about 8pm,
[00:20:33] and a co-worker,
[00:20:34] stayed with me,
[00:20:35] due to the area,
[00:20:36] we worked in.
[00:20:37] He did not feel comfortable,
[00:20:38] leaving a female,
[00:20:39] at the shop,
[00:20:40] in a bad area,
[00:20:40] of town.
[00:20:42] I was fine with it,
[00:20:43] because I had someone,
[00:20:44] to keep me company,
[00:20:45] while I worked.
[00:20:46] My co-worker left,
[00:20:48] to go to the restroom,
[00:20:49] and within seconds,
[00:20:50] of his return,
[00:20:51] and opening the office door,
[00:20:52] we heard a loud male voice,
[00:20:54] and a deep guttural yell,
[00:20:56] like it was yelling out,
[00:20:57] in pain.
[00:20:58] And this,
[00:20:58] was coming from the back,
[00:20:59] of the shop floor.
[00:21:01] My co-worker,
[00:21:02] looked at me,
[00:21:02] and said,
[00:21:03] did you hear that?
[00:21:05] I instantly stood up,
[00:21:06] and grabbed out my knife,
[00:21:08] and handed him a flashlight.
[00:21:09] I told him,
[00:21:10] well,
[00:21:11] maybe someone broke into the shop,
[00:21:12] and tripped,
[00:21:13] or got hurt.
[00:21:15] Due to the area,
[00:21:16] that we worked in,
[00:21:17] I was bringing my EDC pocket knife,
[00:21:19] no matter what,
[00:21:20] for protection.
[00:21:21] We walked out,
[00:21:22] into the shop,
[00:21:23] looking around with the light,
[00:21:24] and walking back to the area,
[00:21:26] the yell came from.
[00:21:27] At that point,
[00:21:28] I started to worry,
[00:21:29] and thought that maybe,
[00:21:30] one of our co-workers,
[00:21:31] got hurt at the end of the day,
[00:21:33] so badly,
[00:21:33] that he was knocked unconscious,
[00:21:35] and then,
[00:21:36] woke up yelling out.
[00:21:37] At that point,
[00:21:38] I directed my co-worker,
[00:21:40] to begin turning on overhead lights,
[00:21:42] and I did the same.
[00:21:43] Once we had all the overhead lights on,
[00:21:45] I squatted down,
[00:21:47] looking under all the rail cars,
[00:21:48] to see if someone was hiding from us,
[00:21:50] or if we found a co-worker hurt in the shop.
[00:21:53] While we walked around inspecting the area,
[00:21:55] I proceeded to call out,
[00:21:57] and check in on all my co-workers,
[00:21:59] and verified that they were all at home,
[00:22:01] and safe.
[00:22:02] We walked every inch of that shop after that,
[00:22:05] and we never found anything that could have explained,
[00:22:07] that guttural,
[00:22:09] pained yell.
[00:22:10] I'm glad that I didn't experience this alone,
[00:22:13] but we both chalked it up to just an unknown.
[00:22:16] It was too human to be any kind of animal,
[00:22:18] but my mind did not go to a place of wondering
[00:22:21] if it was the energy left behind from one of the workers,
[00:22:24] who had had a heart attack.
[00:22:26] Either way,
[00:22:27] to this day I'm still unsure,
[00:22:29] and I don't open the shop alone,
[00:22:31] anymore.
[00:22:33] I told these experiences to a co-worker
[00:22:35] who had worked at this location for 30 years.
[00:22:38] He then told me about some similar experiences
[00:22:40] that he's had with an apparition
[00:22:42] that he calls
[00:22:43] the Gray Man.
[00:22:45] When opening the shop,
[00:22:46] he snapped photos on his phone
[00:22:48] seeing a gray human-shaped figure
[00:22:50] who is sitting in the chairs at his lunch area,
[00:22:52] and he has also heard someone walking around.
[00:22:55] So at least I know I'm not totally crazy.
[00:22:58] To add another very quick experience,
[00:23:01] I was in a long hallway of this building
[00:23:03] that is very old and creepy,
[00:23:05] but it's a quick corridor to the break room.
[00:23:07] This was late in the evening,
[00:23:09] again at about 8pm,
[00:23:11] right before I was going to go home,
[00:23:13] and the closer that I got to the break room,
[00:23:15] I began hearing a male and female voice speaking,
[00:23:18] but I couldn't make out the words.
[00:23:20] I walked into the break room,
[00:23:22] and it was silent.
[00:23:24] I was alone at the shop,
[00:23:26] but I had figured that maybe someone else was here.
[00:23:28] Nobody was there, though.
[00:23:30] In fact,
[00:23:30] I verified it once again,
[00:23:32] and I saw no vehicles
[00:23:33] or anyone leaving
[00:23:34] from where the voices had came from.
[00:23:37] I told this story to another veteran worker
[00:23:39] who has worked 10 years at this location,
[00:23:41] and he too admitted
[00:23:42] that he had heard a male and female voice
[00:23:44] talking sometimes in this same area,
[00:23:47] and that it freaks him out,
[00:23:48] because no one is there.
[00:23:51] It amazed me to hear that others I work with
[00:23:53] have had similar experiences,
[00:23:54] and it just verifies that I'm not crazy
[00:23:57] in what I hear happening
[00:23:58] around this old building.
[00:24:02] Anyway,
[00:24:02] this concludes my workplace experiences.
[00:24:05] I hope someone else has had similar experiences at work,
[00:24:08] and if so,
[00:24:09] I can't wait to hear about them on the podcast.
[00:24:12] Thank you so much for reading my experience,
[00:24:14] and please reach out to me
[00:24:15] if you have any questions regarding any of them.
[00:24:18] Until then,
[00:24:20] I am off to listen to old episodes on the podcast,
[00:24:23] while I am on break.
[00:24:25] Thank you, Nick,
[00:24:26] for what you do.
[00:24:31] As I bring tonight's episode to an end,
[00:24:34] I'd like to thank Daphne,
[00:24:35] Matt,
[00:24:36] Goulet,
[00:24:38] Charlesy,
