[00:00:28] In today's episode, we're going to forego our typical format and offer up yet another

[00:00:33] batch of listener stories.

[00:00:35] Over the last week, our inbox has been inundated with interesting encounters, and it seems

[00:00:40] only appropriate to give them priority over our next topic.

[00:00:44] So I hope you enjoy the following nine listener accounts involving the supernatural and the

[00:00:50] bizarre.

[00:00:53] The first time it happened, I was sleeping and woke up because I felt a hand on my leg

[00:01:00] and I realized that I couldn't move.

[00:01:03] And he come across this object on the ground which was the shape of a flying saucer.

[00:01:08] So he jumped out of his pickup and went down there and there were four beings laying

[00:01:12] on the ground.

[00:01:14] When I raised my head back up, I was turning my head and out of my peripheral vision, I

[00:01:19] seen something hop to a tree.

[00:01:21] And it was tall, about seven, eight foot tall, and it was black, real hairy, like a gorilla.

[00:01:47] Our first story of the night comes from Tori.

[00:01:51] Tori says, When I was about seven years old, I had my older cousin over for a

[00:01:56] sleepover.

[00:01:57] As I was showing her around the house, she pointed out an image of a football team's cheerleader

[00:02:02] with a signature on it.

[00:02:04] So I took it down for her to view.

[00:02:06] A few minutes later, we left it on the couch and left the room for a snack.

[00:02:11] When we walked back into the room, we found the image ripped and I questioned her

[00:02:16] and asked why she did it.

[00:02:18] She told me she didn't, so I tried to figure out who did.

[00:02:21] So we locked the animals in one room, but when we came back out, it was ripped up even

[00:02:27] more.

[00:02:28] We went outside to show my mom and she said to just throw it away, but we were curious

[00:02:34] how it got ripped.

[00:02:35] Each time we left the room, it was ripped up even more.

[00:02:40] We still are unsure of what ripped the image.

[00:02:46] Our next story comes from Jesse.

[00:02:48] Jesse calls their story Strange Colorful Lights.

[00:02:52] Jesse says,

[00:02:54] I currently live in North Carolina where I just moved.

[00:02:57] I've always been spiritual my entire life and I can feel bad spirits.

[00:03:02] I'm also the type of person who always looks up at the stars waiting for something to

[00:03:06] happen.

[00:03:07] So this wasn't really much of a scare to me.

[00:03:10] When I stayed in Virginia, my cousin and I lived in the same neighborhood, so we'd

[00:03:14] always walk back and forth to each other's houses at all times of the day.

[00:03:19] One night she came over and she looked a little frightened.

[00:03:22] Not the type of frightened that she was just chased by a serial killer, but she

[00:03:26] seemed uneasy and confused.

[00:03:29] It took her a few seconds before she asked if I wanted to come over to her

[00:03:32] house to play Mario.

[00:03:34] I said sure and we started walking.

[00:03:36] It was nighttime so we stayed close and under the street lights.

[00:03:40] When I asked her what was up because she seemed off, she said that her

[00:03:43] sister, her and her mom saw weird colorful flashing lights when they

[00:03:48] came back from getting pizza about two hours earlier.

[00:03:51] It was now 10 p.m.

[00:03:53] I was excited and asked her all types of questions, like if she saw an

[00:03:58] actual aircraft and she shook her head and said it seemed like it was coming

[00:04:02] from the field behind her house.

[00:04:04] Even though when she looked back there, there wasn't any type of party or

[00:04:07] projector.

[00:04:08] I watched stuff on this all the time so I was excited.

[00:04:13] That was until we walked up to her house and I saw them.

[00:04:17] Colorful low opacity lights, huge, just flashing in and out of the sky.

[00:04:23] My cousin is a joking person and always turns scary situations into

[00:04:27] something funny so she gave me a nervous laugh while grabbing my arm and

[00:04:32] saying she didn't want to get kidnapped by aliens so we should go inside.

[00:04:36] I pulled away and just stared at them.

[00:04:39] I didn't know how to feel.

[00:04:41] Every once in a while when I went over to her house at night, we'd see

[00:04:44] the lights.

[00:04:46] It's all field and forest park that's closed at that time behind her

[00:04:50] house so it can't be from some type of party and I'm sure that

[00:04:54] party lights don't look like that.

[00:04:57] Do you know what this is?

[00:05:12] Jacob calls their story

[00:05:14] In Bed With Evil.

[00:05:16] Jacob says,

[00:05:18] Hi Nick.

[00:05:19] I've been listening to your podcast this morning at work

[00:05:21] and sleep paralysis has been a topic several times on your show.

[00:05:25] I haven't really shared my experience this much with people but hearing the

[00:05:29] stories made me want to share.

[00:05:31] I have nearly forgotten about this but when I started listening to the

[00:05:34] stories everything just came back to me.

[00:05:37] About three or four years ago I was living with my family.

[00:05:40] One night I just shot up in my sleep.

[00:05:42] I was in a panic and covered in a cold sweat.

[00:05:46] I had no memory of a dream or any idea what woke me up so abruptly

[00:05:50] but I just had to get out of my room.

[00:05:52] I sat in the front room and watched TV for a few hours until I calmed down.

[00:05:57] Then I eventually went back to bed.

[00:06:00] After a few weeks I forgot about that night.

[00:06:03] A few months later I woke up but this time instead of shooting up in bed

[00:06:07] I was frozen in place.

[00:06:09] I was in a state of fear I have never felt before in my life and I was unable to move.

[00:06:14] My eyes were stuck closed but I could feel a presence lying on the bed behind me

[00:06:20] and holding me in place.

[00:06:22] I couldn't see anything but I knew that it was there.

[00:06:25] The thing that stood out most from my memory is how cold I was.

[00:06:29] I felt like I was freezing and I could feel my body shaking from how cold I was.

[00:06:34] I suddenly realized that the only way to stop this or to escape it

[00:06:38] was to attack it.

[00:06:40] I don't know why I thought this but I just realized that I had to fight.

[00:06:44] It felt like I fought to move for a while but eventually I swung my arms around as hard as

[00:06:49] I could to hit this thing behind me but instead of hitting this creature all I hit was the

[00:06:54] CD player on my bed.

[00:06:56] I sat up and looked around my room.

[00:06:58] It was empty.

[00:07:00] It was daylight out and the room was bright even though it seemed dark before.

[00:07:04] But even though it was over my body still felt cold and it took me a while before I felt warm again.

[00:07:12] After I got up and out of the room I told my family and they just shrugged it off

[00:07:16] and said it was just a dream.

[00:07:18] I haven't experienced anything like it before or since.

[00:07:22] I never had any other case of sleep paralysis.

[00:07:25] I've always had strange dreams but nothing is disturbing as that.

[00:07:29] I don't necessarily believe in ghosts or demons but I might believe a little more now.

[00:07:42] Our next story of the night comes from Gary.

[00:07:44] Gary calls their story October 2018, Queen Mary Ghost Encounter.

[00:07:50] Gary says,

[00:07:51] My parents were celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary in October of 2018

[00:07:57] and they invited all the immediate family to celebrate an overnighter

[00:08:00] on board the Queen Mary in Long Beach, California.

[00:08:04] The Queen Mary is notoriously known as being haunted.

[00:08:07] The family consists of my siblings, our children and their spouses.

[00:08:12] I think we had about 27 family members attending.

[00:08:15] My wife was well aware of the ghost stories surrounding the Queen Mary

[00:08:19] and was seriously considering not going for that reason.

[00:08:23] I convinced her that we couldn't let our family down

[00:08:26] and that there were no ghosts and that she had nothing to worry about.

[00:08:30] My wife and I have a 17 year old daughter and a 9 year old daughter

[00:08:33] and all four of us were in one room together.

[00:08:36] My parents had arranged for a ghostly tour the evening we arrived.

[00:08:41] We were the last ones to arrive and the family was awaiting us at the meeting

[00:08:44] location where the haunted tour was.

[00:08:47] As we approached the family, I yelled out,

[00:08:50] Is everybody ready for a ghostly encounter?

[00:08:52] Everybody said no except me.

[00:08:55] I yelled out, well I am.

[00:08:56] We proceeded to take the creepy tour without any incidents.

[00:09:01] After the tour we had about an hour to relax before our dinner reservations.

[00:09:05] We went to dinner, socialized for a while and then called it a night.

[00:09:10] About an hour after we went to sleep, I felt the sheets and blankets being torn from the bed.

[00:09:15] My wife was facing away from me and quietly said,

[00:09:18] What are you doing?

[00:09:20] I said nothing as I pulled the sheets and blankets back over us.

[00:09:23] I looked around and saw nothing.

[00:09:26] My adrenaline was flowing as I laid back down thinking what the heck is going on.

[00:09:31] I started to laugh to myself thinking, oh my god this ghost thing is real.

[00:09:36] After a few moments I felt someone sit down on the bed behind me.

[00:09:41] This freaked me out and I completely froze and I couldn't get myself to turn around.

[00:09:45] I was contemplating waking up my wife and daughters and getting the heck out of there

[00:09:50] but I didn't want to scar them for life.

[00:09:52] Knowing ghosts exist and can physically interact with you.

[00:09:56] So I laid awake for another hour before I fell asleep again.

[00:10:00] Next I was awakened by the sound coming from the next room over of a man and woman making love.

[00:10:06] They became louder and louder until it woke up my wife and my daughters.

[00:10:10] My wife was so angry she pounded on the wall to let them know that we heard them

[00:10:15] and just like that it got quiet.

[00:10:17] The next morning we had to get up early for breakfast

[00:10:20] so my wife decided to turn the TV up super loud to pay back the couple in the next room.

[00:10:26] When I went to the front desk to check out I made a complaint about the thin walls and the

[00:10:31] people in the room next to us. The woman behind the counter told me that no one was staying in

[00:10:36] the room next to us. My jaw almost dropped as I explained what we had heard that night

[00:10:41] but the clerk was adamant that no one had stayed in the room.

[00:10:46] That's all I got and I want to thank you for the great work that you do.

[00:10:55] Our next story comes from Sebastian.

[00:10:58] Sebastian calls their encounter, encounter in a cemetery. Sebastian says,

[00:11:03] Dear Nick, I've listened to your podcast for weeks now and I've nearly made it through all

[00:11:08] the episodes. Thank you for your work and effort. My story is slightly different from the

[00:11:12] usual ones but I think it's worth sharing. Although I am from Germany, the unusual event

[00:11:18] that happened to me took place in Warsaw while visiting friends in the beginning of 2019.

[00:11:24] It was a beautiful and sunny day as we were visiting the biggest and oldest cemetery in the city.

[00:11:29] I was stunned and speechless seeing those super old graves and crypts from the 18th century

[00:11:34] till today. My friends were walking about 60 feet behind me when suddenly one big piece of

[00:11:40] pollen passed my head from behind. I was perplexed because I've never seen such a white,

[00:11:46] big and roundly shaped piece of pollen in my life but it was drifting gently through the air.

[00:11:52] Immediately I was looking up to check if there was any other pollen flying around but there weren't

[00:11:57] any. Due to the fact that this was the beginning of the year, it should have taken another two

[00:12:02] months for spring and flying pollen to come out so it was kind of odd. Something inside me

[00:12:09] said that I needed to follow this thing and I did. The cemetery is really huge and has lots

[00:12:15] and lots of small corridors. So I followed the pollen and after about 10 seconds it turned right

[00:12:21] into one of the hundreds of corridors. I hesitated but turned right to see where it was going

[00:12:27] and it was a section of really old graves from the 19th century and I could see that the pollen

[00:12:32] was heading to one particular grave with a small fence surrounding it. I wasn't afraid or

[00:12:38] anything but I was somehow curious. In my heart I knew that this must be something important,

[00:12:43] like a sign, so I followed the pollen slowly. It touched the fence and landed exactly at the

[00:12:49] bottom of the tombstone. I didn't know what to make of the situation but I also didn't rush

[00:12:53] to check the tombstone's inscription. When I finally stood in front of the grave I could see

[00:12:59] that due to weathering over the centuries I could just make out one single word on the

[00:13:04] tombstone. All the other words were unreadable or completely gone and I noticed there were

[00:13:09] once plenty of words written on it. When I read the word that was easy to decipher I froze and

[00:13:16] then I turned around just by reflex to check if anybody there was watching. The only readable word

[00:13:22] was Sebastian, my name. I was stunned but I didn't feel any fear I was still curious.

[00:13:30] We stayed in the cemetery for another two hours and I was checking every single tombstone

[00:13:34] I passed but none of them had the name Sebastian on them. It seems that this name is pretty rare

[00:13:41] in Poland. I didn't believe in coincidence. I didn't really know what to make out of it until

[00:13:46] I talked to a friend about nine months later in the end of 2019. She stated,

[00:13:52] Of course it was a warning sign that you are going to die. I replied that I hadn't died yet

[00:13:58] but she stated, No, not physically but mentally and then it hit me. I felt the truth in her words.

[00:14:06] Last year was the toughest year of my life. I struggled a lot and I fell into a depression

[00:14:10] and it kind of felt like dying like my ego was slowly drowning. When my friend stated that

[00:14:17] I immediately felt the truth in her words. Today I'm fine again. Everything turned out

[00:14:22] to be better than ever before. I feel that someone or something was sending me this sign

[00:14:28] to be warned and to stay on track and keep my belief. Thank you for reading my story, Sebastian.

[00:15:38] I still question what really happened to this day, eight years later.

[00:15:44] When I was around the age of eight or nine, I had gone to the grocery store with my mom

[00:15:47] like any other normal child. Keep in mind I had gone to this grocery store many times before

[00:15:52] and nothing like this had ever happened. I remember my mother and I were walking down

[00:15:57] the meat aisle. I was holding on to the side of the cart walking next to her.

[00:16:02] Nothing weird was happening. It was just a normal day. Then suddenly for a millisecond

[00:16:07] everything went black. I couldn't see, hear or feel anything happening around me.

[00:16:13] It was like I was just floating in space. As soon as it happened, it was over. I could see again

[00:16:19] and feel again and everything was normal except for the fact that I was now on the other side

[00:16:24] of the store. In that small little millisecond I had somehow gotten to the other side of the

[00:16:29] store and was standing on the end of a random ladies cart. Now mind you I was only eight

[00:16:35] or nine and for some reason I hadn't acknowledged the fact that I was in some random aisle so I

[00:16:41] thought this lady was my mom at first. Then when I looked at her she looked just as confused as me

[00:16:46] and considering I had just appeared on her cart, she was fairly shaken up. I put the pieces

[00:16:52] together and realized what had happened so I got off the cart and ran to where I had last

[00:16:56] seen my mom. She was in the same position looking at the same thing in the same place

[00:17:02] where she was before I appeared across the store. Now keep in mind that to get to the aisle I was in

[00:17:08] it would have taken at least a minute of walking and somehow I had gotten there instantly.

[00:17:13] I ran up to her to tell her what had happened and she didn't think anything of it because I

[00:17:17] was a small child and how would I know what had occurred but to this day I remember that

[00:17:22] encounter so vividly and still cannot figure out what had happened. Our next story of the night

[00:17:31] comes from Liliana. Liliana calls their story, doppelganger tale. Liliana says, hi again. I

[00:17:38] wanted to share a story. One day I was alone in the bedroom with the light off. My boyfriend and

[00:17:43] I had just finished the paranormal activity movie and my boyfriend had a habit of pretending to

[00:17:48] be possessed to spook me. Well this time he was playing a game in the other room. I heard it

[00:17:54] turn off and I thought that I'd heard the door to the bedroom open. I woke up and looked

[00:17:59] at the door. The light was still off. In the darkness there was my boyfriend in shadow just

[00:18:05] staring at me like he was pretending to be possessed. I told him to stop joking around.

[00:18:09] He just stared at me for what seemed like several minutes. He then stepped up to the

[00:18:14] foot of the bed. He stopped there and slowly sank down. Now this isn't abnormal for my boyfriend

[00:18:19] so I sat up and crawled to the edge of the bed and told him to stop and come to bed.

[00:18:24] At the foot of the bed I just stared. He wasn't there. I yelled his name and the door opened again.

[00:18:31] There was my boyfriend. He had not been the man at the foot of my bed.

[00:18:35] I started to shake and cry as I told him what happened. This was just the start

[00:18:40] of the crazy things that happened to me since. I can share more stories next time.

[00:18:54] Bloody Jacket. Gabby says, Hey Nick I love your show and I want to tell you some of my family's encounters.

[00:19:02] Before starting I want to clarify that I do not live there and these are not my personal experiences.

[00:19:08] My family lives in Southern California in the high desert and if you've ever been

[00:19:12] in the high desert you know how sad and creepy it is. You just get this weird vibe

[00:19:17] that I can't explain. Crime is high here and a lot of the houses are not well kept

[00:19:22] so the cities here look really depressed. Well my family moved there around three years ago

[00:19:27] to this tiny house surrounded by two acres of land. When they bought the house from the previous owner

[00:19:33] he had a lot of old cars that weren't under his name. Random tiny sheds scattered around the

[00:19:39] property. Weird random cement blocks in the ground like sidewalks but scattered and didn't

[00:19:45] flow or match up. There were also big pits around the property. Towards the end of the

[00:19:50] property there were some chicken coop houses and underneath the floor there was a huge basement

[00:19:55] and in one of the sheds closest to the house there was a hidden crawl space under the floor.

[00:20:00] Although we never found anything weird in these sheds or pits and we never actually dug

[00:20:05] up the pits but you just got this eerie feeling that something has happened in this property.

[00:20:10] You know how I mentioned that there are random blocks of cement on the floor?

[00:20:14] Well there's dozens of names written all over these cement blocks and you can tell

[00:20:18] that whoever wrote it was the same person because the handwriting is all the same.

[00:20:23] Even though I never suspected anything of these names, I only started getting suspicious when my

[00:20:28] dad found a child-sized denim jacket with red sleeves and Sesame Street characters on them

[00:20:34] hidden in the house. My dad was inside the house renovating it and he was checking out

[00:20:39] the houses installed wall heater because most of these nowadays don't work so he wanted to

[00:20:44] see what was up with it. He noticed that on top of the heater there was a built-in squared space

[00:20:49] covered in duct tape. My dad took out the duct tape and noticed someone basically made a square hole

[00:20:56] in the wall and inside it was a plastic bag. Inside the plastic bag was a bloody vintage

[00:21:02] probably early 90s child-sized denim jacket with Sesame Street characters on it. When everyone

[00:21:08] saw what it was they immediately wanted to call the police but they got scared something

[00:21:13] would happen to them so they just threw it away. Once they told me about it a lot of things started

[00:21:18] making sense especially those names written on the cement. At first I thought it must have been

[00:21:24] his family member's names but then I started reading them and noticed that all these names

[00:21:29] don't have the same last name. Could these have been victims too? I don't know. When I started

[00:21:35] putting all of the things together I started staying up all night looking up missing children

[00:21:40] from the high desert area from around the 90s in hopes that one of their descriptions would match

[00:21:45] the jacket my family saw but my research never led up to anything. To this day I wish I knew what

[00:21:51] had happened and why this jacket was hidden away like that and what other things must have gone on

[00:21:57] in this property. The reason I decided to share this now is because one of my cousins can see

[00:22:02] spirits and said that he can see a scared little boy walking from where the heater was

[00:22:07] to the dining room and then disappears back to where the heater is. Could it be him? I don't doubt it.

[00:22:35] an encounter with a Native American demon. Tracy says, Hey Nick, I just found your podcast the other

[00:22:41] day and I'm hooked. Thanks for all your hard work. So to preface this story it's relevant to know that

[00:22:48] myself and a few of my cousins who are part of the story I'm about to tell are practicing witches,

[00:22:54] warlocks, pagans. Some of us including myself have intuitive gifts. My cousin Morgan is very

[00:23:01] in tune with the paranormal. She sees and hears spirits often. I am an empath so I pick up on

[00:23:08] different types of energy very easily. Now here's my story. Ever since I can remember,

[00:23:15] my family and I have spent every Easter up in the Poconos in Pennsylvania,

[00:23:20] very close to the notoriously haunted town of Jim Thorpe. The Poconos area is very well known

[00:23:26] for the rich Native American heritage and culture that used to thrive there. We rent a

[00:23:31] house in Taumansing trails which is a private community. We call it the Easter house and it

[00:23:37] is a very important trip for my family. I am extremely close with all of my cousins even

[00:23:42] though we are varied in age. I am the oldest of our pack and the second oldest is my cousin

[00:23:47] Morgan who's my best friend, basically my sister. We believe we are traveling souls.

[00:23:53] One year at the Easter house when we were around 15 we set out with our three younger

[00:23:59] cousins on our annual hike through the woods. We had a secret spot we always went to which

[00:24:05] had a river and tiny creeks running through it and many little pools and islands. We kept venturing

[00:24:11] through the woods. It was all familiar enough as we had scoured those woods many times before.

[00:24:17] We came to a place we recognized about a half mile in, a thicket of long growing

[00:24:22] laurel trees by the river. They're more like bushes super annoying to try and walk through.

[00:24:27] They were so thick you could barely see through them. Then it suddenly became very dark in the forest

[00:24:33] like everything had a shadow even though it was the middle of the day and we had not

[00:24:38] ventured into the thick trees. The air became heavy and everything was silent no wind or birds

[00:24:45] or animals. It seemed like even the sound of the river had stopped. I knew something was

[00:24:50] wrong and then Morgan and I stopped in our tracks and looked at each other at the

[00:24:55] exact same time. Something was very off. We both felt different things. I felt like there was something

[00:25:01] animalistic in the trees ahead, something dark and evil and it wanted to hurt us, possibly it does.

[00:25:08] It seemed like a bear maybe or a twisted form of a human. It's hard to explain how I knew this,

[00:25:14] it's just how my intuition works. Morgan felt the same, something evil. She felt that if

[00:25:20] we went further it would see us and there would be no going home. I felt that it knew that we

[00:25:26] were close but we had little time. Both of us without speaking knew that we needed to bolt fast.

[00:25:32] We turned in the direction the road was and looked at our cousins and said run. So we ran

[00:25:38] our group all the way out of the woods until the dark presence had faded and we were back

[00:25:42] at the house. I'd never been scared in the woods like that before. We are all pretty

[00:25:47] outdoorsy and don't scare easily. I didn't realize what had happened until I was much older.

[00:25:52] I am now 26 when I was listening to your podcast and decided to look back on some of my experiences,

[00:25:59] slowly realizing some of them were quite strange and cannot be rationally explained.

[00:26:04] Morgan and I did some research on the legends of the Linnap and Delaware tribes that heavily

[00:26:09] populated the area. We found a legend of a Native American spirit called Mahue. Before I read you

[00:26:16] description of the spirit I will note that we wrote down all of what we could remember before

[00:26:21] we did our research as to not influence our memories. Mahue is a Native American spirit,

[00:26:27] a giant humanoid man-eating monster that lurks in the forests and attacks anyone who comes close.

[00:26:33] It is very similar to a Wendigo and is associated with hunger, cannibalism, and sin.

[00:26:39] We also found a spirit called Yakwahae or Yakwawiak which is a giant hairless,

[00:26:45] bear-like creature that also eats humans. When I think about this encounter, Mahue just seems

[00:26:52] right to me. It's terrifying to think that we possibly ran into something like that in the

[00:26:56] woods right near our vacation house. I'm not sure exactly what it was but I do know it wasn't

[00:27:02] just paranoia. Something not right is out in those woods. That community has always been a little spooky

[00:27:09] and the people there are strange. They have an odd feel to their energy as if they're hiding something.

[00:27:15] Other strange things have happened to us in those woods, like getting lost in circles

[00:27:19] even though we knew the area well, finding odd things in the forest where they don't belong,

[00:27:25] like burned-out foundations of buildings and random household items strewn about deep in the

[00:27:30] forest and seeing people walking around in the woods only to vanish into the air. And it wasn't

[00:27:36] like someone had thrown these items out of their car or something. I'm talking miles into the forest.

[00:27:42] Also, some time glitch stuff has happened as well. I have more stories like this but I'll leave

[00:27:48] it at Mahue for now. As we got older, experience has diminished, possibly because the area is

[00:27:54] getting more and more developed and the forest is being knocked down, but that community

[00:27:58] and that area still has the same ominous feeling. I know I'll never go back to that spot though.
